Made Nan's curried tuna slice this morning and Jo's version of the EDC scones (nowhere near as good as hers though :-))), tasty but not very high.

All that beautiful cooking to inspire me but I am not doing anymore today; made rolls this morning (in under an hour ones) for the grandies to take home and pies last night for dinner and extra for them to take home. I used Chookies bolognaise recipe for the filling (the stove top one). I am just relaxing now with a cuppa but do look forward to my nanna nap after lunch. I still sleep at night Cookie1 so enjoy the little nap.

There have been some very busy cooks. Love the bright layer cake.
Your custard layer cake looks great Judy. Will have to have a look at the recipe.

Nice cooking everyone.

I made some mini egg, bacon and cheese pastries this morning.  Sorry no photos as the camera is still out of action.

Today I made the cornish pasties that Katie made a few days ago.  I couldn't get any lard in either Coles or Woolies as they no longer stock it here, so I just used all butter instead.  The pastry made enough for 5 largish ones (using a mould) but there was heaps and heaps of the uncooked filling left over.  I think I'll use that up tomorrow in a soup so definitely won't go to waste.  I enjoyed one, though I did feel a little bloated afterwards for some reason  ???

Well the cake was a great success. Watching my little nephew grab handfuls was the best! Now, all I'm cooking is a quick risotto for tea before getting these tired kids into bed. It's days like this that I'm so grateful to have a tmx. Previously we would of spent money on takeaway that everyone was probably too tired or hyped up to eat. At least this way I can turn any leftovers into another meal tomorrow  ;)

That is wonderful news, I'm so pleased that it all worked out.
I know what you mean about a thermomix helping to make a meal instead of take away. I often think 'takeaway' then decide a thermomix meal is so much cheaper and healthier.

We are a bit similar Obbie. We live in a country town, and it's quicker to make something quickly in the tmx rather than get in the car.

Great cooking. Everyone has been busy. Love the bright cakes. I've seen the magic cake a few times but not made it yet. Yours looks great Judy.

This weekend I've made a couple of loaves of sourdough bread, sourdough pancakes, and yummy chocolate, choc chip icecream.
Tonight I made paprika chicken from Quirky Jo's website, but won't be making it again. Despite the fact that I enjoyed it, DH complained about the noise whilst he was trying to watch the news and the kids didn't like it at all.
