Lovely to read you’ve been cooking so much Chookie and getting ready for the big move. Love how they will take the freezers full, I would never have though anyone would do that but then my name isn’t Chookie LOL

That’s wonderful about the removalists taking your freezers fully Chookie. Let’s hope they don’t stop and have a party on the way and eat it all.

I made a RTE Apple Cake today. She sent the recipe out recently. https://www.recipetineats.com/cinnamon-apple-bread/

I made some bagels today. DD got this recipe from a friend and they are very nice. We had bagel and a tomato salad with burrata on it for lunch. It was perfect.

I have never been any good at making pastry, but I tried my hand at a coconut oil short pastry and was fairly pleased with the outcome, it was for a mushroom, lentil and ale pie (I substituted red wine because I hate beer), also made Spanish bean stew and peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies

These are the cookies that DD made. The latest craze seems to be very large cookies that are crisp outside and soft inside. These certainly were, but half of one is more than enough at a time.

I’ve noticed those in coffee shops are huge these days too cookie, very flat, large and probably expensive for what they are.

Yes Judy. We went up to a cookie parlour and bought 3 of theirs. It cost just over $20. That’s what made DD decide she could make them.

Who’d ever think that a biscuit would become so pricey, home baked is a fraction of that price these days.

Not much cooking happening here, I've been a bit unwell lately.  Yesterday I made some Gingerbread cakes in the PM and then made 4 dozen shortbread some have gone already and the rest are in the freezer.   Because we have a 50th birthday party on Christmas eve  I am making an early start on my Christmas cooking.
