So sorry to hear of your thieves Judy! I haven’t gone back too far in this thread, but Chookie, you had something stolen too?
I’ve been really busy lately. We’ve moved to Albany, sold our farm. We’ve bought one in Albany and we’ll be settling a second one next door in a couple of days.
Traveling back and forth shifting farm machinery and bits and pieces that have accumulated over 80 odd years!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

No thefts here MJ.
Moving house is a big enough job, moving farms is another matter! Good luck MJ.

Chookie had her peach tree stripped while she was on holidays MJ.
You have a big job ahead of you with the shifting.

MJ, good luck with the shifting.  It certainly is a huge job. We are still unpacking and it is nearly a year.

I went and paid a couple of bills at the post office this morning. Then I called at a couple of Bunnings stores. An acquaintance told me she bought Dragon fruit plants there. Sadly they didn't have any.

I’m doing a test run of Hot X Buns, both yeast and SD.
I didn’t make any last year as we were shifting.
The yeast ones took ages to rise, had to place bowl over a sink of hot water to get it moving.  They tasted very good but I thought they were a bit doughy.  Funny thing is that they looked ok when cut. Will give more attention to the 2 rises.
I am having 2 hot X bun making days.  Looks like 12 dozen all up. Will be more difficult with just one oven.

Go Chookie!  Once again I will buy 1 solitary bun from somewhere this year.

Funny that you should mention Dragon fruit cookie, I tasted my first one today and loved it.  What a gorgeous looking piece of fruit, this one was home grown and the lass told me it was far superior to those bought. Mum and Geoff had a piece too, I was surprised Geoff ate most of his.

This morning I potted up 7 plants for the trading table at the end of the year, an early start so that they are well developed by then. Did a bit more laminating and during that process I found a dessert recipe I could whip up for tea.

12 dozen hot cross buns Chookie. I'm exhausted just thinking of it.

First day at gym for me yesterday and it was fine.  Our council runs a programme called Living Longer Living Stronger for people like me - older, fatter, sedentary lives, etc.  Easy exercises for the first day and no pain afterwards ... different story this morning, my shoulders are aching!  Ah well, as they say, no pain, no gain!

Hello all, from a very snowy Britain. Moving farms MJ that sounds like hard work. We moved last year too and long way to go to get sorted. DH still on fortnightly immunotherapy and has an op on Monday to a late his lung mets in the left lung. It just goes on and on.
Currently been resting my leg today after a little knew procedure yesterday to remove a foreign body after a fall in January. Few stitches in for ten or more days and all will be fine. Thought it was time to say hi.

I won’t be making the hot X buns by myself.  Looks like 3 different people each day.  2 fun days. They will do the work and I will try to co- ordinate the chaos.

DJ , good to hear from you. Hang in there.

Have never tasted Dragon Fruit.  Must do.

Marina. Go for it.  I did an exercise plan a few years ago. I was given a discount as the manager said that at my age I wasn’t likely to wear out his machines.

LOL Chookie, I hope you showed him you were serious about getting fit.  Good luck with the hot X bun cook up, sounds like fun.
Keep it up Marina, pain is good, it means you’re using muscles that have been laying idle. I walk for half an hour each morning but if I had time I would like to do more.

Nice to hear from you DJ, sorry to hear about your problems.

Nice to hear from both MJ and DJ - I think of you both often.  You have both got lots going on in your lives just now and I hope everything turns out well for you both.
