Amy, you would have been better home cooking then  ;)

Michele, great idea - cook outside and keep your kitchen clean  ;D

Maddy, has DS signed up with Geelong yet ;)

Absolutely Judy! Especially since my 18 year old brother in home for his semester break from university and looks like a skeleton! :o I could have been cooking him up all his favourite meals and cakes to get a bit of fat on him :(

You are going to love doing that Amy, mind you some people are naturally thin and it doesn't matter how much they eat, their weight never varies.

You're absolutely right on both points there Judy. I already have a long list of all the meals I want to make him before he goes back ;) I don't think it will get much weight on him though. He is over 6 feet tall and very lanky, but he was never this skinny. He only eats two meal a day at university, which isn't good for him. He is probably lacking in a lot of nutrients and energy :( Poor kid.

Wasn't sure where to put this, thought some of our sewers on the forum might appreciate this.  :D

Lol Julie. I'm not a sewer but I enjoyed the read. Reminds me of instruction for a wife to be prepared for when her husband comes home. Will try and find it. :D

Personally I prefer the advice I was given when I first learnt to free motion quilt which was to have a couple of glasses of port, red wine or sherry before or during the sewing!

We got our power & water (no water due to needing electricity for the pumps) back on at 2pm this afternoon after Sundays tornado 6 days without power was no fun at all.
Made a yogurt Cake and steamed some fish and veggies and a long hot shower with the light on.

No tornado but VERY windy here in UK.

Went shopping with DD this morning but got othing for her and ended up buying a big squashy bucket for me around house garden. For kindling paper etc in winter for lighting fire and for weeding etc in summer.
Also bought a pair of very short gum boots, ankle length for gardening in. Been so wet but am fed up of wearing my long ones when bending, kneeling down. Similar to this http://www.wellywarehouse.co.uk/joules_welly_range.php

Had visitors this afternoon made nay nay's scones with old sour cream, seemed ok. Used runny cherry jam compote from yesterday.

Family supper tonight, and now all just chilling with iPads, laptops, and tv.
