Welcome Heidi, DSIL!!! So lovely to have you here.  Better cook up before Thermie leaves us for warmer weather in sunny Adelaide.  I will visit her in two weeks.  Can't believe there will be a space on my bench with only a memory....

Can you believe it?  I still don't have my TM5??? SSIL is taking Thermie away and I terrified I will be Thermie Free for the Foreseeable future.  I will need therapy.  Someone send food, I shall surely starve to death.....

Hi everyone,

Last night, a dear friend came over to visit Ed and I and he brought a friend of his along.  He is from Sydney and lives in Frankfurt and she is from Sydney and is on holidays here.  Anyway, we were exchanging pleasantries and getting to know one another, and the topic of Thermomix came up, as I whipped  a fabulous cake out of the oven.  Well that was it.  She and I talked about virtually nothing else for the rest of the evening.  She owns TM31 and she was delighted to hear all about TM5.  And most importantly, I told her all about all of you and how fabulous you are so we shall look forward to her joining us soon when she arrives back in Sydney.

Apologies if this is not an introduction, because it isn't but I don't know where else to put it.  Sorry MM!!! :)

What marvellously entertaining reading this is.  I must make this as it looks delicious and sounds so much fun to make.

Oh lovely.  I wouldn't think to contact Australia HO because of the distance and cost of shipping. Funnily enough, South Africa is considerably closer.

Hi everyone,
I had the most delightful chat with Tina at Thermomix South Africa.  What a lovely woman.  She was extremely keen to hear all about the TM5 that they will not be getting until next year, poor loves.
Anyway, I have ordered their new cookbook, odyssey something or rather and it is coming by post.  It is about $50 equivalent plus postage.  If you fancy the book, contact them, as they are so helpful. I will let you know when it arrives.  Gee, haven't I become obsessed again???

I promise to let you all know.  I keep checking my letter box, nothing.  The stork hasn't brought Thermie II yet.  We don't have delivery demos to my knowledge, it just lands on the doorstep by courier and off we go.

News about Thermomix / Interest rate
« on: September 17, 2014, 05:33:15 am »
Good morning all

I was googling around yesterday and found the information regarding finance for Thermomix.  Sometimes it is 11% and after one year it is 19.9%.  Here in Germany, we pay 1.9%.  Quite some difference.  Vorwerk own a bank (AKF) over here and run their own financing for people who require it.  And personally, 1.9% is quite a negligible amount but 19.9% is exceptionally high.   Do you ever get interest free periods for purchase?

I am not meaning to stir the pot (pardon the pun!) but I wonder why AKF cannot finance the product or open a division in Australia.  I only say this because it is extremely unfortunate that some markets pay SO much more than others.  I don't want to out people off but just to keep people informed.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  Be welcome to hear your thoughts.

Not meaning to spoil anyone's day....

Hey everyone,  I contacted SA Thermomix today and they are posting me the Odyssey book.  Fortunately I am off to Cape Town in December so I have arranged for it to be delivered to my Aunt's home and it will be waiting for me.  So excited.  TM is SO expensive in South Africa, I think you can almost equip a kitchen in Miele for less, well  almost!

Teeny is 8 today.  This is him with a new Martha Stewart Pet Collection toy we bought him the US last month.  We bought him (and Josie and the late Tiny) to Frankfurt from Melbourne, Australia.  He used to be terrified of Thermie but he has learned that if he hangs around the kitchen, he might get lucky.  He is our dog but he loves Ed the most.

And this is Josie.  She is my darling.  She is an Aries (like me) and we really understand each other.  She is not fond of Ed, or Teeny for that matter,
