Chit Chat / Re: Rissotto
« on: May 16, 2011, 05:29:50 am »
I love Kathryn's pumpkin and feta risotto. In fact we're having it tonight. We had a roast last night and I roasted heaps of extra pumpkin.

I love anything made with pumpkin and feta, where do I find the recipe for the risotto?

thanks,
Sharon  :)

I really like Royal Alberts "Lady Carlyle" and that may be a good one to collect, my MIL has the country roses complete dinner set with all the accessories and is available for us to borrow for special occasions.

Am really enjoying this thread  :)

Thanks JudyDawn and TM_Ted, recipe printed off for future use!  I have always made my scones with cream and lemonade, so these will be very similar.

The food is not very inspiring in Holland........

My in-laws are Dutch and I must admit that food and cooking has never been their strong point, shhhhhh did I say that!  ;)

Enjoy your stay and I look forward to hearing more about that dessert, there is an advocaat recipe in the Festive flavour cookbook.

nay-nay's scones are lovely so do try again.

Could someone point me in the direction of this recipe please?  :)

TMTed, the thought was there and that is all that matters.  I remember quite a few years back my DH making some anzac biscuits with the kids as a surprise while I was out one day, well......he placed the biscuits too close together on the tray and they ended up with one big anzac biscuit!!

Hi djinni373

welcome to the forum, I am a real newbie to TM but an oldie when it comes to forums, but there is no better place to learn about topics than on a forum and this is one of the best I have belonged to!

My thermie is on its way so I have no experience to pass on, yet, however I have already learnt so much from the lovely TM devotees here.  Like you I am printing off recipes that I want to try.

There was a special on purchasing a 2nd bowl last month, but I will probably wait until that happens again.

Hi and welcome Riina  ;D

I am so pleased to hear how happy you are with your TM.  I ordered mine yesterday but I think I know that I have made a wise decision.

I must admit that I am worried about the waistline, having just lost 8kgs and would ideally like to lose another 5kgs I am going to have to have extremely strong willpower when it comes to all the goodies I will be baking.  Luckily I have 3 hungry teens who will eat their way through it I am sure.

JudyDawn it will last quite a while, the same as homemade irish cream and you drink it the same way, with ice or a little bit of milk is ok.  It is quite rich so I think it definately needs the ice.

A question about the 2nd bowl, did you buy one or was it a special at the time and do you recommend a 2nd bowl, I am already thinking that a 2nd bowl would be real handy as I have noticed that a lot of the recipes call for mixing a few ingredients and  putting aside while you mix the next lot of ingredients.

Oh yum that sounds like a nice drop, is it available here in Australia TM_Ted?

You would probably like my malted honey liquer so I will share.

MALTED HONEY LIQUER
1/4 cup malt powder
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup whiskey
2 tablespoons coffee liquer
2 cups cream
1 cinnamon stick

Place malt in a bowl with honey, sugar, whiskey and coffee, whisk until combined.  Pour cream into a saucepan and stir over medium heat until almost boiling.  Remove from heat, pour cream gradually into malt mixture, whisk until well combined.  Allow to cool. Pour into bottle, add cinnamon stick, seal and refrigerate till serving time.

Now obviously this recipe is crying out to be converted into a TM recipe so if someone would like to do that and we can move it to the drinks section :)

Hi Kellie,

The waiting is agonising isn't it?

I ordered mine yesterday and am soooo excited!  Now the waiting is spent on searching all the great recipes here and printing off the ones I want to try, I don't think I will be getting much work done when it arrives  ;D
