Chit Chat / Vanilla Paste recipe anyone?
« on: November 01, 2009, 06:40:55 am »
Does anyone know how to make Vanilla paste? I have googled & can't really find a recipe. The ingredients on the bought one (from memory)include: Vanilla Bean seed, vanilla extract, sugar & thickener.
I bought about 250g of vanilla pods & have made Vanilla Extract (brewing nicely in the bottom pot drawer)and also vanilla sugar but would like to utilise the rest.

Tips/Hints: Char Siu Sauce is a honey based Asian sauce available in most Australian Supermarkets or Asian Grocers. Char Siu literally means "suspended over fire", referring to the traditional barbequing of meats marinated in Char Siu Sauce.

Introduce Yourself / Perth Newbie

Hi Everyone,
I've had my Bimby for nearly 12 months and absolutely love it. I wish I'd had the time to surf the net when I first got it as I would have discovered this forum earlier. I have lurked around here for a while and have tried some of your fantastic recipes but until now haven't had the courage to reveal myself. :-\ My 11 yr old son also loves the Bimby and has taken "ownership" of the pancake cooking for our weekend breakfasts. He and I now refer to everything that comes from the Thermomix as "Bimby specials". Even the dog has benefited with treats made with it. I particularly love being able to "hide" vegies in the dishes we make (thereby tricking my 15yr old teenage boy who considers everything green is "toxic").
I am hoping to be able to contribute to the forum but doubt I have the skill level of many of you.
