Soups / Re: Vegetable soup with bacon & pasta
« on: June 24, 2012, 08:29:24 am »
Made this today for lunch it was yummy. I too added my own pizza sauce (Thermomix of course) and I also added an extra rasher of bacon which I had chopped and quickly crisped up in the microwave  :P I also added Risoni instead of pasta shells and added a leek with the veggies, it was a super soup. I made edmundkostewicz's Yummy Crunchy Rolls to go with it, I love these rolls as they cook from a cold oven, its so hard to find a warm spot to prove bread at the moment :-))

On another note I just spell checked this before posting and it told me I had spelt Thermomix incorrectly it wanted me to change it to Thematics  :o   ;D

Suggestions and Complaints / Re: Mincing meat problem
« on: February 12, 2012, 11:55:36 am »
I totally agree I tried to mince pork for the sweet n sour meatball receipe from the EDC and it was awful, not only did the time specified not even get close to mincing it properly, it eventually turned it into a sludgy texture ..yuk :o

I love my thermie, best kitchen appliance ever......but wasn't at all impressed

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Sclales stopped weighing
« on: February 12, 2012, 11:46:08 am »
I was cubing some pork and weighing it into the bowl as I went, the scales just reverted back to the timer without me even touching anything, why was this, was I taking too long?
 ???

:-\ sorry I didn't enjoy this one, the pork didn't seem to mince very well to start off with and I felt that the flavour was lacking something...sorry to put a downer on it but just being honest, would probably try Chicken if I did it again.

Had this tonight, it was lovely 8) A little hot for us perhaps but I will make it again perhaps with a little less chilli. I threw in some cashews too as didn't have the correct amount of beef. I wish the curry recipes would indicate whether they are mild medium or hot :o ;)

:-\ mmm I didn't add any water at all it was all mixing nicely in Thermie on the correct temp then all of a sudden it changed, the choc mixture now looks like gravelly mud!!! :-))
I wonder if perhaps the violet crumble had too much moisture in it??? Thanks for the help Frozzie and Johnro, I might try the cream, Merry Christmas  :-*

Help!!! What did I do wrong, Made this the first time using Clinkers, Turkish Delight, mini marshmallow and Pistchios, it worked beautifully,  ;)  tried again using mixed nuts and violet crumble instead of clinkers  but halfway through the mixture stopped melting and clumped up, I have tried to melt again over a bowl of boiling water but its not having any of it  :-[ such a waste if I can't rescue it, looks terrible but still tastes good, any ideas anyone ???
