This was delish. I only used 1 Chili but would try with 2 as per recipe next time. The cashews minced with the water made it beautifully creamy and a 200gm tub of yoghurt would be enough to "smooth it out". Next time I will leave the cinnamon stick whole as the pieces were a bit annoying as you are eating. Or alternatively you could blitz the spices after they have sautéed.
It was a very easy & tasty dish that I will make again soon.
Score 5/5

Thank-you for sharing your reviews Jen.
We don't have this book in NZ (or any other than EDC actually), which is a real shame as it sounds like the one I would be most interested in. Love Indian food!

It should be available through HQ in Perth - they are out of stock at present. There is a list of Australian books http://www.thermomix.com.au/01-cookbooks.html (http://www.thermomix.com.au/01-cookbooks.html) - your consultant should be able to organise for you if you don't wish to order yourself.

Made this tonight

Really enjoyed it. Mild enough for the older kids, lovely flavours. The older two love cashews so went down a treat.
Whilst it was slow cooking (used pork instead of chicken and this was so so tender) I made garlic and cumin rice and a Spicy beans and peas side dish.
Spicy beans and peas
Chopped garlic, cumin and coriander seeds.
Added chopped green beans and peas.
1/2 tin of tomatoes
A couple of dashes of tobasco.
Cooked for 8 mins 100° reverse spd 1.

It looks very tasty Zan.

Made this last night for DW and myself. I halved everything and it still worked out very well.
I used cinnamon powder though, cos I didn't have any sticks and avoided the crunch problem!

I always leave my cinnamon whole unless I am making a spice paste - its easy to take out then and certainly adds enough flavour. With indian food I never use cinnamon powder - I only use it for sweet dishes.
I might give this one a go on the weekend.

This is a review from Brazen 12/5/12, thought I'd add it to the others
made this last night and was pleasantly surprised.
it is much easier to make than it appears when you first look at the 2 page recipe! i think it will become a favourite due to its simplicity actually.
the taste was not at all what i expected - VERY subtle, but definitely grew on me as i ate. you wouldn't want to serve it with a vindaloo or anything over powering - i think on its own or with a simple vege dish or a garlic naan would be perfect.
i had no yoghurt so made it with some cream i had to use up and a small splosh of apple cider vinegar. that was fine though i think the yoghurt would be better. i had actually missed the yoghurt in the recipe and thought it was dairy free when i started it, so next time i'll try some lactose free cream, or possibly making it with some curdled rice milk or something.
i give it 3.5 - 4 stars

oops, i did do a search and it didn't come up!

I concur. Goes down very easily, a good contrast to the hotter curries and a change from Butter Chicken.
I would have preferred to make the whole recipe in the Thermomix but I understand the need to transfer to the stove because of the volume of food.
Made me realise how much I love having no pressure that things are about to burn when cooking in the TMX - not that they did, but the fear factor was prominent.

I am making this tomorrow night for dinner, and was wondering why it couldn't be completed in the Thermomix. From reading the comments I guess it is because it would be too full, so if I reduce the quantity a bit, it should work, has anyone tried this?
Thanks nicky
