Title: Just checking in

Just wanted to stop in quick and say Hi.  I haven't abandoned you all, and I appreciate the personal messages checking in on me.  It's just a really busy time for me right now.  Last weekend we had the ECG, which is like a big picnic here at my house attended by kitchen knife collectors around the US.  We had about 40 people attend.  I cooked off a 27# chuck roast, made rye bread, Sicilian pizza, and donuts for the crowd.  I have a BBQ competition on Friday and Saturday this weekend, and Sunday is my son's graduation from Law School, so I have to run from final submission at 1:30 Saturday, to my house to clean up, and then about 90 miles to my son's school to take the family out to a 5:00 reservation for dinner.  Then next weekend, it's another picnic party, this time for about 50 (or more) friends and family as a graduation party for my son (planning 2 chuck roasts and many pounds of bbq'd chicken thighs...  (of course, gotta make rye bread to go with the smoked chuck).  So... life's been pretty hectic, but I'll be back.

Wow, these picnic parties sound great.  We hold our picnics in public parks, never in our own backyard.  Maybe we just call our gatherings at home BBQ's . Nice of you to check in - nice to know where people are and that they haven't fallen off the planet.

Great to hear all's well - at first when I saw ECG I was worried.  That's our abbreviation for EKG (electrocardiogram) for checking heart rhythm - thought that you'd had heart problems.

For those who don't realise - 27# means 27 pounds - thats about 12 kg !!  Looks good inside - is it a cajun coating that makes it look burnt to a piece of charcoal, or smoked - sure that with the pyrotechnocomputological monitoring it wouldn't be burned !!  ;) ;) ;)

How's the Thermomix ?? Cooking any desserts or still forbidden??

Which one is you Warren?  DH's cousin Murray is into knives too and has been to the States in the past, checking out knife collectors and makers.  Don't suppose he has been to one of your shows - he is an unforgettable Australian.  You'd remember him if you ever met him.
