I have recently 'discovered' farro - it is really nice, chewy like barley and a bit nutty as well, so I'm having a farro week this week, last night I had it with a chickpea casserole and the left over brussels sprouts from earlier this week.

We had Syrian Chicken (from here), served over wholemeal couscous with Broccolini and beans.

Lovely meals girls.
Astarra, chicken soup is a great standby both for cook and consumers.
Corned beef , mashed spuds and mixed veggies in Varoma.
Make pies, some for freezer. Meat and chicken.

Chicken soup here tonight, inspired by astarra's post a couple of days ago I made it last night from 2 roast chicken carcasses from the freezer, that left a nice gap to fill with soup packs.

Your freezer sounds like ours Judy. When I make bread I have to check that there is space for it. We brought back about a dozen packs of fish and they filled it up. DD put a few bits in it too while we were away.

We're having Minestrone soup tonight with haloumi in pits bread. I've just put the pita bread aside to rise.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

It doesn't take long to fill freezers does it cookie!  I'm aiming to get my stocks down so that I can shut down the little freezer but that will be a tough job.  Every now and then I just grab a packet of something and just throw it in the bin (usually in the cake or dessert line, I can do without eating that sort of food
anyway).  I'd like to have room for some home made bread eventually.

Yummy meals girls . We had honey soy chicken drumlets tonight with steamed vegetables . Apple crumble , home grown apples, crumble to seconds in the thermomix . DD and DS thought it was a tasty dinner . We picked the apples today . I tend to pick as needed .

It is Judy , just hard to keep up to it . Have been time poor lately. Apples are tricky ,I do not like a unripe apple . We have put some green ones into fridges at Wool Shead . But one is a bar fridge , so not that much room . If you put them inside at the moment there are just too many mice around , tempting fate really . So freshly picked off the tree is the best option . Also giving to others . Apple crumble will be on the menu again tomorrow . Then to Melbourne on Monday for Dentist appointments . Life is never quiet .

KATIE, don't know if this is any use, but when I prepare apples to cook, I save the cores etc to make jelly. You can freeze them and keep adding until you have a lot.
I agree, straight off the tree is good.
I have been making lots of rhubarb and apple pies. Wrappped in puff pastry with just a little sugar both in the mix and on top. A little spice mix inside and on top also.
Have you seen my post on bottling apples in bottles, in the microwave?

I bought a new triple slow cooker, so pulled slow cooked topside and veges tonight. :)
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.
