DS never got to go on fire brigade duty . Others stepped in and they are needing less units . Saturday is not looking good with high winds again . Traveled home silly leaving early afternoon the west gate is bad single lanes and so so many trucks . Home to do my jobs and feed the boys !! Earlier today DD and I looked for a dress for her ! No luck but managed to finally find some jeans for her . DS fitted his light for Ute today , they bailed up all the rams wool and crutching ! DH is a bit worn out .

Chookie all good thank you . Not much media information on the fires but we are fine . The small town of Pamonal is not good many houses lost . I was on the road onTuesday to Melbourne, not a great trip very windy . Massive thunder near Ballarat that caused a small fire . Tomorrow DS will go with the local firebigade to help put out spot fires . This is a huge thing ( for me Iím concerned) but part of being with brigade. Yes honestly itís what you do but Mother Nature is also very unpredictable. Proud of him but also a huge thing too . The fires are not going to go out for a long while where they are . The most work has to be done by air as itís rugged country that you canít get into . After being through a major fire 16 years ago it never leaves you , but the communityís are there to help , incredibly amazing support.

Yes Iím going to miss DS . We went to hardware store to get stews and beading for DS canopy ( inside layout work ) . Also some Adblue for my car ( this stresses me out when it comes up saying to add it , just annoying but no way do I drive the car if it says to add it , a timing this due to doing a late service!!) so hot today .

Another warm day ahead . Stressing now as DS leaves soon and really he has a lot of packing and jobs to do . Last night he spent a lot of time with the canopy ( box ) to go on his use to fit a fridge inside it . DH is worn out trying to get lots of harvest equipment cleaned and put away ! Lucky DS is helping . We are feeding lambs too so most nights DH is out doing this .

Yesterday DGF and I finished the first batch it tomato relish and put the second batch on ! I took my TM6 over and made three batches of tomato ketchup ( we were trying to use up the tomatoes 🍅. So 22 jars of tomato relish ! 3 tomato ketchup ( for us I more to make at home ) . In all we made two double batches it onion jam , two double batches of tomato relish, these are for our annual hospital market . The ketchup was off cookidoo and it is so hot 🥵 the 3rd lot I took out the hot paprika and cayenne. Not spicy at all so maybe Iíll halve the hot paprika and a sprinkle of cayenne. Only draw back it says to keep in the fridge .

Collected a box of tomatoes and then off to shops to get spices etc . DGF and I started the prep for tomato relish ! Skinning the tomatoes then chopping them and chopping up the onions . Sorted out the amounts of other ingredients for DGF to cook in the morning! Home late to finished of jobs and cook dinner . Boys had gone to collect the new canopy for DS Ute ( itís like a box that goes on the tray ). Today we will collect the Ute and DS have a haircut and hopefully get some clothes . Iíll do a proper shop . When I was shopping no malt /brown vinegar anywhere, lucky I had got a few at home to use for the tomato relish. Hopefully todays shop ( different place will have some ) I remember this last year there was a shortage.

Yesterday late afternoon went to DGF house to start making our Onion jam we do each year for the local hospital market . We make a double batch . It takes quite a long time ! So had dinner there .! Boys got their own takeaway truck food ! Fist thing this morning I did step two of my eggplant dish and then back to DGF to finish off Onion jam . So it reduces down to a third . Made lots of jars and some for each of us . DGF was on a roll because this was her second batch . So good to do things like this together. Then we zoomed off to bookclub . Two days of seeing another human being! Now I feel a bit more normal. DS is getting his Ute ready to go ! Put on drivers lights ! They look really good and not obvious. They are carting grain and cleaning out field bins ( they have been in the paddock to store the grain as they harvest . Now they have gone tonight yo drop the Ute off for service!
