Jamberie I have just had a good look at your avatar.  Is it the very hungry caterpillar? It is cute.

Yes it is The Very Hungry Caterpillar....It was DD's first b'day cake, except there was no way she was allowed the green icing, there was waaaay too much food colouring to achieve that green!
One of our fav stories too & I'm always hungry so I thought it was appropriate :)

That is a terrific looking cake, and a great story. If this was the happy thread, I would say how happy I am that my dyslexic son just read me a bedtime story ~ The Diary of a Wombat ;D

That's great! I love Diary of a Wombat! Jackie French really knows how to tell a story that's amusing to many ages :) I'm so pleased your son enjoyed it so much he read it to you!

She does write good books ;D
He did say that one of his teachers had read the book to his class, and he really liked it. He is having a sleepover in his sisters room tonight and he read it to both of us. I really love the holidays with the kids as things are so relaxed.

Well, the checkerboard cake set was reasonably successful - not quite a square as the pic on the box, but still pretty good.  And tasty! :D

Oh, and I've had to order some of those icecream tubes too - for me AND my sister.  She and her kids LOVE them.
