Hi, I havnt been on here for ages, but just came back today and have noticed I have the same pic as cookie! How did this happen cos I don't even know who this baby is and I didn't put it there!
Any ideas, and I need to change my email
 Address that this is registered with, is this possible or do I need to open a new account?

i have to take a plate to my daughters kindy on friday for lunch, what would anybody recomend, something reasonably healthy, maybe christmassy looking, savoury preferably, but not opposed to sweet.

hi all, i would like to make some very yummy waffles like the ones you get at those icecream places. (i think they are called gelare but as there isnt one in busselton its been a long time since i went there)
i was looking at carolines waffle batter, does anybody know if this is this style of waffle. when i attempted to make waffles ages ago they were more like pikelets!

hi, i am making beef goulash right now, this is at 100deg. i want to cook some veges to go with it, can i put the varoma on and will the goulash be ok to cook on varoma temp or do i have to do it at 100. thank you

Chit Chat / can i save my chocolate mix that i just ruined!

hi all, well i just had my first major fail! i was making a chocolate mud cake, and the recipe said to melt the chocolate (2.5 cups) butter and caster sugar in a bowl over hot water, so i thought i would just chuck it in the tmx! but i ended up with a big lump of goo that wouldnt melt!
it doesnt taste burnt, so wondered if it could be ressurected (not sure how to spell that one!) so anyone know if i could turn it into biscuits, or add some dried stuff to make truffles or something.
so the mess i have is 2.5 cups chocolate, 1 cup butter and 1 cup caster sugar.
what does anybody reckon? can it be saved or binned  ???

hi, whilst i am searching through certain sections, i find i have to keep going back to the first pages to move forward, i.e i look through pages 1, 2 and 3 on the cake section but how do you get to page 10, it seems you can only use the first or last pages easily, but not the ones inbetween. i am sure there must be an easier way but i cant figure it out! please help!!! ???

just had to share this: my 3 year old dd, was in the bath tonight, playing with a watering can and a jug, i heard her say thermomix so my ears pricked up, she said mummy will you show me how to cook something, so i showed her how to make shortbread, then it was her turn, she said, take 1 scoop peanut butter, 1 scoop vegemite, 2 scoops flour, 1 jug water, ......................etc etc, i am not sure what she was making, but it brought a smile to my face.  :)

Chit Chat / watermelon jam gone wrong!

my husband has gone crazy! can anyone tell us how you know when a watermelon is ripe, according to yates, when it goes yellow on the underside and makes a dull hollow sound when tapped!well, we picked one we thought was ready a couple of weeks ago and it was totally white inside (i thought it could have been one of the fancy varieties that he had ordered off the internet, but no just not ripe yet) so yesterday we picked another one that was massive, around the size of a basketball or bigger, and yet again this was also white, it did have a faint tinge of pink in places (if you looked hard through squinted eyes)
anyway, to the part where dh went crazy: he thought he would make watermelon jam, why would you try making jam from a fruit that doesnt even taste nice? so, it didnt set! he played around with it for ages, i said just chuck it away, but he said no i will turn it into apple and cinnamon jam tomorrow  :-)) so alas today we have some weird jam that still didnt set!!!! anyone heard of throwing good money after bad :-))
sorry, just had to share that with someone!
has anybody actually had watermelon jam?
he says he has once at it was more like a jelly that you would serve on a cheese platter (maybe he should have used gelatin then) ;D

i was trying to reply to a message from the vermins on the topic omg my tmx will be here in an hour, then found it was locked. why is this so?
wanted to ask about freezing the custard for school, do you take it out of the freezer in the morning and it defrosts during the morning ready to eat at lunchtime or is it too icy by lunch.  ???

hi everyone, i found a quote last night at a hens night, on a bacci wrapper, i thought this would make a great quote for my profile, but i cant remember my password to get into my profile as i have not needed it since i joined the forum. how do i retrieve it or is there another way off adding a quote?
whilst on the sublect of the hens night, i have to say i made mango sorbet for some champagne cocktails, was delicious, and some playdoh for a little game of 'build the groom' . we also had a peg game where certain words were banned for the night, ours being the grooms name, kids and dogs, as that tok us all into account, but they decided that thermomix should have been banned too!!!!!

Chit Chat / just got home to the smell of warm bread!

when i left the house this evening my dh was dozing on the sofa, thought i would have to wake him when i got home but instead returned to the aroma of freshly baking bread! so its now around midnight and we had to try it! beautiful! had to take a photo also as it looked so good, but i am not so good on the computer so unable to actually post a photo! it was dark rustic loaf with soya grits and linseed added as extra. here is the link. nicky  :)

Introduce Yourself / so excited i cant sleep!

hi everyone, i'm nicky from busselton w.a i am waiting for my machine to arrive, i checked the postbox 3 times today after the postman had already been! waiting for that card to say i can pick it up from the post office.
i went to a demo about 2 months ago and was so excited i could not get to sleep because my mind was running overtime (a bit like my tmx will be soon!)
my husband craig just checked out a recipe on his laptop, so i think its going to be lots of fighting going on trying to decide what to make first and who is going to make it. we have 2 toddlers and are looking forward to giving them some healthy treats and have already been making ice and frozen yoghurt and stocking up on berries.
craft night happens to be at my house this week so i think maybe not a lot of craft will get done but a lot of noise will be made!
