Cherry Jam Recipe?
« on: February 15, 2012, 10:01:13 pm »
Hi!!  I have some lovely cherries and would like to make some jam, has anyone made cherry jam successfully in TM? Or do I just use the strawberry jam recipe from EDC and replace the strawberries with cherries?  I make jam the old fashioned stove top way but am yet to venture into making it in the TM  :-\

Thank you to you both!

I followed the recipe you provided mkr and it is perfect, set to perfection, the only thing I omitted was the kirsch as I didn't have any on hand.  This will be my go to recipe as I am sure it will work with most fruits  ;D

So glad it worked for you Knittercook!

I use the same recipe for all stone fruits. Apricots or peach jam with vanilla and a splash of amaretto is another firm favourite.

I love cherry jam. I just wish I could buy enough cheap cherries to make it.

bluewren, mkr hasn't posted on here for over 2 years and it looks as if she has closed her blog to the general public.  There are recipes on the net using the Thermomix, here is one of them unless a forum member can pm the one mkr made.

Hopefully someone has it. I've actually found I can buy some cherries for about $11 Kg. I'd love to make some cherry jam.

Spud Shed in Kelmscott. I got some for $11.99/Kg in Coles last week but I ate them all.  ;D

This is not exactly a jam recipe ... well, it's really got nothing to do with jam at all, but it HAS got cherries in it, it is preserved cherries in port and is a great hamper addition at this time of year.

I got some really lovely ones from the farmers market on Sunday $20 a kilo, they  didn't have any in our Coles. Our favourite place to buy cherries in Dwellingup lost their fruit this year with the fickle weather. Was told by a reliable source all dropped off the trees.

Marina my brother is bringing me some cherries in brandy for Christmas. He lives just out of Canberra at Bungendore and grew the cherries himself. I'm looking forward to them.

Bedlam my other brother has a tree change place in Dwellingup and he has cherry trees. He had none to share last year either. Very sad.
