Choc nougat spread
« on: January 27, 2009, 05:08:11 am »
This one is converted from the German forum. Got rave reviews!

100 g almonds
250 grams of chocolate praline
35 g sugar
180 g milk
150g butter

Chop all ingredients except butter on speed 6 for 1 min, possibly using spatula,
Mix for 3 min, speed 4,  60 ° . Scrape down the sides.

Add the butter and mix for 30 sec, speed 6 with the spatula, scrape down the sides and mix again for 30 sec speed 6 or until smooth.

Cool and put store in a glass jar in  the fridge

Variation:
hazelnuts instead of almonds, sugar slightly increase
almonds instead of almonds, sugar, reduce
Pecans instead of almonds, yummy, yummy ....

Several people said in the reviews that this can be spread straight from the fridge. Off to try it now!

Sounds like a Nutella replacement.  Good one again.   :-* :-* :-* :-*

I saw a Nutella restaurant in Bologna when visiting there in 2006.  They take it very seriously !!!!

Made this one a few times now but forgot to report back!
I use milk choc melts and hazelnuts. It is fantastic, kids like it better than the nutella recipe in the Everyday cookbook.
It makes about 500g and is great as a fruit dip. I like it straight from the container!
It is also spreadable straight from the fridge - its a bit runny when first made but it sets.

Think I might give this a go - mainly a fruit dip ready to hand.  I'll let you know how I get on.
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!
