Love the photo of that old Model A
Because I couldn't get onto the forum last week (is it just me, or was it down again?) I've actually got some catching up to do. Over Easter DH painted our bedroom - because he used lime wash paint and the walls in the room are brick it was a hard, hard job for him getting into all the wee holes and gaps between each brick and it really wore him out. Once you start using this paint you cannot stop because, if you do, you end up with all sorts of ugly 'pause' marks on the finished wall. He had to do one undercoat and two top coats, each coat took him c. 8 hours of non-stop painting, it was really hard work for him. On the fourth day he started assembling the new Ikea wardrobe but didn't have time to finish it. Meanwhile, I had my sacral nerve stimulator removed which meant that I can now safely have an MRI and my foot surgeon promptly sent me off to have one. The outcome is I have some stress in my foot and am back in my moonboot - it is great, for the first time in ages I can walk without pain. The plan is to have a cortisone injection in my foot before we go away so that I can walk without pain. I may have to take my moonboot with me, we will see. Both DH and I have had COVID and flu injections in advance of our trip in a couple of weeks. Today I have an appointment with my GP, then I have a follow up appointment with the surgeon who removed my stimulator. Whist we are away we have a formal dinner to attend. Dress code is "elegant" - I hate to use the saying, but, OMG, I don't have an elegant bone in my body so I am now panicking trying to find something appropriate and having no luck whatsoever - I don't want to get something too expensive as I will probably never wear it again so it is a huge dilemma. Other than all of that, all is good - the sun is shining it is a beautiful and mainly warm autumn and I am enjoying the milder weather and all the seasonal colour in the countryside. 18

Just started In a New York Minute by Kate Spence. Only on chapter 2 but it looks like it will be a nice light read. I have just put The Siren's Call by Chris Hayes on my reading list - it looks like an interesting read.

Finally picked up our wardrobe from Ikea - it has been a long and involved process for some unknown reason, but all taken care of now. DH was having a great time blasting around finding all the necessary components in the pick up area - I think I may have created a monster by letting him loose in there!

Welcome back,Judy, sounds like you had wonderfully restful and idyllic time while you were away.
I did a load of clothes shopping for our upcoming holiday - well, it seemed like a lot as I was in David Jones for 1 1/2 hours and was assisted by a lovely man selecting various items for me and trying them on (me trying them on, not him!) - in the end I came away with nothing but I then wandered into Myers and did manage to buy one pair of trousers so not a total loss. Then on to JB HiFi to get a power bank for all the necessary electronic devices we now have to travel with. Then back to Myers as I had forgotten underwear! Back home for a break then on to Ikea to finalise our new wardrobe and had a very frustrating time arranging when we would pick it up as they do not hold items. I thought it would be a straightforward arrangement but it became complicated. I understand why the cannot hold anything for you - can you imagine if someone came in ordering beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs, etc. ... it would be a nightmare for Ikea to pick and store everything for any length of time. Anyway, we eventually got that sorted out and I headed back home again totally shattered! 22

Felt like soup today but had nothing "soupish" in the house so invented peanut butter and cannellini bean soup - not too bad

Thanks Chookie. I am happy to go with 2 tsps, it looks like a good option.

Thanks for your follow up.
I made the recipe at the weekend with 1 1/2 tsps and it seemed OK. I just felt that the larger baking powder quantity would leave a taste in the cake. Anyway, it worked OK with 1 1/2 tsps but, just out of curiosity I might make it again with 2 - 3 tsps and see what happens. I think the recipe would be American, considering its source (Facebook) 28

For Xmas DH bought tickets to a Food and Wine Show long lunch at Babajis, an Indian restaurant in Warburton, so that is where we got to yesterday. There were a good 100+ people there and the tables and chairs were all set up alongside the river. A beautiful spot, an enjoyable meal and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
