I wonder why this happens?  I've had to wear glasses for driving for years.  the last test for my license - no problem.  I went dashing off to the optometrist for new glasses just before my renewal was due.  Paid $100.  Did the test and passed without the glasses . . . .$100 down the drain!!!!  LOL

You'd know your eyeball changes shape as you get older GF? Or maybe you have become very adept at doing without  ;D

I went to The Optical Superstore - total price $417.50 whereas I was expecting around $750 going by the prices at the last place I went. My computer/reading glasses only cost me $45 - I can't remember when I last paid that low a price for glasses as they have skyrocketed over the years.  Obviously all optometrists have a cheap drawer with a limited choice of horrible frames (this chap opened his and it was full of them but they were nice frames!).  My bi-focals I chose a more expensive frame from the display and they were $235.  With my sunnies they suggested I use my current bi-focals, change the right eye script then tint them.  Now, no-one has ever suggested that before - these worked out to $137.50.

I do have an eye problem that may need an op not too far down the track, my eye specialist is keeping an eye on that one -  it's called an epiretinal membrane.  Today this optometrist told me I also have Blepharitis which is basically dandruff on the base of the eye lashes so I have to wash them with Johnson's baby shampoo as the dandruff is going into my eyes and irritating them. I've had eye problems since I was 38.  I was sitting at my desk at work one day when something went pop in my head and next minute I couldn't see clearly out of my left eye, everything was really fuzzy.  I still don't know exactly what it was but they told me it would take 6 weeks to come good and it did but my eyes have never been the same since.

Well I might try Spec Savers. I only use glasses for driving at the moment, but I really should use them for reading and computer etc ad my eyes hurt a lot these days. I can't see to well when driving without glasses, everything is quiet blurry ;D

Dede we went there after trying several as we dont have privae health cover as yet.. If you do i think it works out even cheaper..anyway we ave 12 mths to get private health before they start penalising us.. Spec savers worked out the best in our area and there is a choice.. You can get them cheaper but we didnt like the frames.. Basically they are set up in costs.. And you get 2 for that price..think the highest on the racks was 399 selection if i remember so still cheap and like i said you can get sunnies as one pair .. Dh chose the same frame for both but yu can choose any two pairs.. He had glasses from france but somehow they got scratched on the trip over so he ad to get new ones :(( as his sight was startingto get worse.. He needs to wear them to correct his vision and for his sight to improve bit by bit but without they will get worse so told him he is getting the glasses.. Its only recent.. Another 2012 event !!

I just sent DS off to his friends house for the day :D
Very happy for the break - DS & DD have a new favourite game: "wind each other up"
So DD is having a nice quiet break - gone off to play with her playmobil toys in her room.  SO quiet here!!!

Get rid of that 'game' Jo if you can but I think a lot of homes have that one too  ;).

CC, happy for you and Chance that the sun made an appearance today.

enjoying the serenity...both kids still fast asleep.  DD is nursing a very sore tooshie from yesterdays ice skating (there is a tempory rink set up on the pier) and DS is pooped from his Mum dragging him around shopping all day :P

couple of hubby's mates are helping him dig out the pool hole today, and redirect the water pipes...of course they are located where the pool is going....so going to make up a spread of food for when they've finished, which of course will include some very chilled bubbles for the girls & brew for boys :D

tomorrow will be another stinker, so might make a big batch of ice cream, and some lactose free for DD.....hope it works, haven't attempted that one before.

Enjoy your day!

Hard day for DH Maddy - especially in the heat.

Took mum grocery shopping and to Bunnings. As it's nice and cool today I will spend the afternoon cooking for the freezer for when I go back to work.  :D
