What are you cooking today?
« Reply #32355 on: August 19, 2018, 09:36:36 am »
I have roasted some pumpkin and made some pasta to have with pesto for dinner tonight. I have a cauliflower soup on at the moment.
I also made a Silken Pear Cake from Poh's book. It is sort of spongy with pear pieces in it. We bought some soggy pears home that we hadn't eaten.
I think DH likes it as he has had 2 pieces already.

It looks nice cookie, did you serve it with custard
I had your DH’s favourite dessert tonight - rice pudding.  I made a batch the other day and froze it in serving sized quantities.

That is the same soup I made yesterday, CC.  It must be cooling down over your way if you are making soup just now.

CC and Marina, glad you like that soup, we do too.  Very adaptable.
I used up some veggies to go with the Miso chicken.

Double that yum from me!

Judy, I just made the cake for DD and DH to eat. They usually have an icecream for dessert and I have yoghurt, if anything. It would be lovely with custard, icecream or both. Even mascarpone or quark.

Cookie, what does quark taste like?  I am interested in it but never tried it.

Gosh it is a long time since I tried it. It's a smooth cheese but not too heavy. I know I liked it! Sorry, not much help.

Cookie, you are very strong not to eat the whole cake in one go.  It looks delicious.
Just stir fry chicken and veggies for dinner.

DD needed a birthday cake in a hurry so I am making that. The biscuit barrel is empty too so I will probably cook something for that.
This is the cake I made for DD to take to work.  It was very rich.  It’s an emoji cake.

I made this Choc Chip Cake for our cake tin. It’s firm on the edge like a biscuit and softer in the centre. Everyone liked it, but I probably won’t make it again.
