Thank you everyone for your compliments.  I make one hell of a mess when I cook. Ral quietly stepped in and cleaned up.

Yes, I really appreciate the help.  I get pretty single minded when I cook.

I haven't, Chookie, but I recently came across this recipe, but haven't tried them yet, despite my best intentions, Sweet & Salty Soft Pretzel Bites

Ral is indeed a star, but then we were all aware of that. Treasure him Chookie. I can't complain at all DH is pretty good too.

Today I made a cold oven loaf with rye flour, oat bran, seeds, baker's flour, yeast and water. It looks good and I will cut it later to check. We had run out of bread for DH and DD and they were tucking into my SD. DH isn't overly fond of this SD recipe.

We were expecting visitors at about 10.30 or 11 but they arrived at 9. We were still having breakfast.  I had made the custard for the Portuguese Tarts but one of the visitors can’t eat anything too rich so I offered them SD crumpets instead.  Glad I keep a good supply in the freezer.
Looks like Custard tarts tomorrow.
I’m not telling Ral all the nice things you have all said about him as he might get a swollen head.  :(

I've made a loaf of bread, cooked a ham and steamed baby potatoes to make a potato salad. I'll rustle up a mixed salad for tonight's dinner too.

I made a Classic Loaf and a Fruit loaf today. I decided to put the fruit loaf into a long, thin banneton.
The Shortbread I made the other day, with dried cherries in.
