On many a forum if I comment the thread dies... seems to be the case here too :-)) ;D
-
Which thread did you kill fruity?
-
Surely not ;D
-
Oh no fruity, what are you doing? Lol :D
-
You haven't killed this one yet fruity.
-
Maybe we can keep this one going for you Fruity.

-
Hehe. Bound to die now I've commented
-
... no, it's still going, you haven't murdered it yet!
-
not yet
-
Fruity, I used to think the same thing when I first joined and started posting but I'm sure it's just a timing thing.
-
Over 12 hours and still going. It's such an active forum, sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the posts.
-
Still going :)
-
hows your toe fruity ? l hope that it is feeling a lot better
-

-

It is thank you. Back to the doc today. Hopefully get the all clear to drive again.
-
What are you doing up at 2 am fruity. Trying to kill a post or something?
-

hopefully good news and you can drive again
-
It's still going Fruity :D
-
Hi Fruity
-
Still going fruity! ;)
-
Where are you Fruity?
-
Am here, waiting for thread to die a natural death ;D, sorry had to go to toe doc yesterday. Bit hobbly again today but got a great report. Back to driving / normal duties as I can manage. At the moment it is rivalling the big toe for size but the swelling will go down once the toe accepts the stainless steel hard ware that is in there.
-
Thought we'd lost you not the thread fruity ;D Glad to hear you can drive again, the swelling will go down soon enough and you will feel normal again.
-
thats good news you can drive again fruity
it wont take long for your toe to make new friends with the metal plate
-
Hello this thread has reached the UK now Fruity!
-
No chance of this thread dying now Fruity. :D

Reached france fruity.. Thread is alive and well...bit hesitant about frankentoe lol
-
I can't believe this thread hasn't died yet.
Picture of the toe please. We've had pictures of Amy's knees so I am sure your toe won't kill this thread.
I totally agree with Dash on all counts here ;D
-
I must have done something wrong last night as both pics (the very first franketoe and the most recent) wouldn't load, either separately or together, will try and figure out what I was doing wrong and get them uploaded
-
You can't kill the thread with the toe fruity. We've had dede's 'hairy legs' too, well she did post the picture even if it wasn't her legs. ;) ;)
-
They were great legs ;D ;D
-
Thanks :D
-
My pleasure :D
There is a dead baby spider floating in the glass of water I left on my desk this morning. I feel bad :(
-
Lol amy 😄😄
-
I think this thread is just going to keep on and on, it's reached international status, so no chance of it dying now.
Go on, post a picture of frankentoe. I dare you. :D
-
i bet a photo of my mouth would kill it for sure :-))
-
Does you mouth look anything like ;D ?

You really must get something done with that hair Uni, it makes you look old ;D
-

I don't think so Cookie ;D
-
Oh well I tried. :)
-
Sorry cookie that's my job.
-
Would be a shame to stop this now so I am doing my bit for the cause. ;)
-
Still waiting for pictures of the Frankentoe.
-
Just posting so this thread doesn't die :D
-
It looks like the death of this thread will be slow and painful... ;D ;D
-
still here :D
-
Still here and going strong!
How's the toe, fruity?? :)
-
Still trying to post photos of frankentoe...
But after being slammed in a car door yesterday it is even blacker and uglier today.
Sorry things have been very hectic, birthday cakes / hockey matches / doctor visits / etc etc.
-
poor love, did it hurt
-
Still trying to post photos of frankentoe...
But after being slammed in a car door yesterday it is even blacker and uglier today.
Why on Earth did you do that fruity? :o
-
Ouch I feel your pain, fruity.
-
Good to see this thread is still up and running - cripes, us lot can talk about anything, can't we! Obviously we don't have the record (yet), but looks like we are giving it a good go.
-
Ouch Fruity, take care.
-
Ye-ouch fruity - I cringed just reading about your toe slamming... how are you??
-
Fruity I cannot believe you hurt your toe again, take care :)
-
I couldn't believe it either, was resting my foot across my leg (ie right foot was resting on left knee) and I shut the car door, did you know that your big and 2nd toe will fit with the door closed in the gap??? no neither did I.
It is actually feeling a bit better today. And have managed to get out and about, take DS4 to swimming, grab some bread from the bakery, and make a banana cake.
Have DS 2 & 3 to take to hockey practice this arvo, and DS1 to swimming squad training.
-
ow I flinched when I read about jamming the toe (too many visuals)
-
Fruity thats scary..
-
ow I flinched when I read about jamming the toe (too many visuals)
DS2 was screaming at DH to call 000, DS1 wanted to know if he had to run around the car and see if my toe was laying on the ground. If it hadn't hurt so much I would have been laughing
-
Oh dear Fruity..... :-))
-
Fruity hopefully I will never need to know that bit of information
-
that's so funny fruity
l was laughing so much that my kids wanted to know why l was laughing
l bet you were not laughing at the time,l did not mean to laugh but you gave such a descriptive story l could not help it
-
so funny fruity ;D

This sugery was to re break the small amount of fused bone, clean the break and install a plate and 4 screws.
-
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/580943_10151096326103104_774126857_n.jpg) and the original frankentoe surgery.
This surgery was to remove the infected middle knuckle and then put a K wire in to stabilise the joint so the bone could fuse. (you can see the end of the wire poking out the top of my toe)
The fusion didn't take and I needed another surgery 18 ish months later.
-
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIT :o
-
OMG :o
-
OOOOOOUUUUUUCCCCCHHHHHH :o
-
Not a bad effort to be walking 1 days post surgery ?
-
F*** :o
You did a good job Fruity... :-X
-
Ouch! I love the arrow pointing to the toe, Fruity - better being safe than sorry.
-
YUCK
-
OOOOUCH, gosh that looks sore
-
"OH MAN " that must of REALLY HURT
-
That arrow is so important, other wise you could have 2 sore toes.
Hopefully it has all been sorted out and fixed now.
-
How did you break the toe Fruity?
My DD had some similar surgery on a finger some years ago. She had a wire poking out the back of her hand. They had to do it twice because it didn't heal. Eventually sh told them to take the finger off because it wouldn't heal and it was interfering with her doing anything.
-
Ouch, I hope it's healing nicely for you xx
-
BTW fruity - love 'seeing' you in your avitar... :)
-
Believe it or not it is all from a blister. I got a blister on the top of my knuckle that got infected. Infection went into knuckle had the knuckle removed.
-
Sounds and looks very nasty fruity :(
-
That is amazing Fruity. I would never have thought that an infected blister could spread into the bone.
When my DD's finger wouldn't heal it was because of an infection in the bone. DD had her hand stepped on by a horse and the break in her finger was compound. The initial hospital didn't clean the wound well and infection set into the bone.

I had never ever heard of it either, but because it has been put forward that because I was pregnant (and didn't know it) at the time it may have affected healing, did your DD have her finger amputated? How long did she allow for healing before making that decision (if she made it)?
What was recovery like?
-
DD had two separate surgeries to have her finger pinned and set. A week or two after the first pin was removed she was having physio when the therapist felt the bone moving and sent her back to the surgeon. They then set and pinned her finger again. This time the cleaned up the end of the bones and sent samples off for cultures. She was kept in hospital for about a week and given strong antibiotics.
When they took second pin out they finger was still not set. The surgeon wanted to put her on a central line antibiotics for 3-6 months before attempting surgery again. He couldn't give any guaranties about how much use of the finger she would have. She was 19 at the time and made the decision to have the finger removed.
The surgeon took the finger off from well back in her hand and moved the other fingers over. You cannot notice the missing finger even if you shake her hand.
-
That made me cringe Dash, it sounds awful :o
-
Maybe your knees are not so bad after all, then Amy? ;)
(Must admit they look bad enough to me, let alone fruity's toe or reading about dash's daughter's finger... :o :P )
-
Maybe not Astarra, but I still have to put up with the pain and discomfort while they heal :-))
I think its a good idea to never get sick or injured or blisters ;D
-
Good thinking Amy! :)
(guess you realised I was just joking about your knees??)
-
LOL I hoped you were, but I wasn't sure ;D ;D
-
Glad you realise now then!!! :)
-
scary Knees, fingers and toes...
Hope everyone is having a nice day today... :D
-

I think I killed the 'What are you cooking today' thread! Was looking for it in unread topics, then realised no-one had posted in it since yesterday. Surely this lot have been doing SOME cooking today?
-
Maybe they are so busy cooking that they haven't had time to post?
I found a hard, blue lump in my finger, so I tried my own surgical procedure of removing it with a pair of scissors. Not my greatest idea, I must confess :-))
-
I have a dissecting kit I can lend you Amy. I used the scalpel to dig out my planters wart.
-
Oh thanks Dash, should I come and pick it up? ;D
-
Ouch Amy - any pics?? ;)
-
Ouch

and apart from humans, dolphins are the only other mammal who have sex for fun not just reproduction.
Sorry I have been MIA, this damn toe has been causing me grief,
I have secondary infection due to rejection of the plate and screws and have been a bit knocked by it, barely managing to function to get normal house work / cooking etc done.
Just finished 2nd round of high dose anti b's, off them for a week and back to see specialist next week, looking like a month of low dose anti b's and if that doesn't work plate and screws will be removed. .... sigh
-
That does not sound good Fruity. I hope that the infection settles down and you don't have to have another op.
-
Oh man, fruity :( That made me cringe! I hope you get some relief soon :P
-
are you in pain fruity ?
-

I'm a real Eagles supporter, when they beat Norths they will play Collingwood - that will be a good game
-
Chrissa - Tarrant and Franklin have been dancing all night

That ain't no tango :-)
I didn't expect we would win, but boy, this is awful..
-
Was Maxwell reported?

Not sure. Looked bad though. I hope you do beat North, I don't mind the Eagles. Though, it will be nice to beat you guys :-)
Katie, who do you barrack for ?

Pies looked like they might hang in there until the end but then the wheels seem to have fallen off.
Bring on the Eagles North Melbourne game.

Ive always gone for Hawthorn. I'm in Adelaide, so I also like the Crows. My DH is a mad Crows fan and is going to the game tomorrow.
-
Katie, Hawthorn supporter, oh well, I won't hold that against you ;-). Nah, your team has played well all season and deserve the win for sure.
Now the crows, that's a different story.....

-
oh no suejen l really feel for you driving all that way then not be able to see the match live
l really do hope that your knee feels better soon
l would of been tempted to get some pain killers and a wheel chair and let jen push you around
but sometimes its all a bit to much effort
-
Fantastic game. I'm thrilled. Lookout Collingwood. :)
-
I think Collingwood should be worried. Car'n the Eagles.
-
Hey Dashing I'm a pies supporter - worried ?
Thats an Understatement, we haven't got a snowflakes chance!
But then again, you just never know.....
-
I'm not a footie fan (still trying to figure out which 'nickname' goes with which team!), but we live in Collingwood and and are fairly close to the MCG which means we can hear the cheering (or other!) at the match. We hope that Collingwood wins purely because we don't like to have too many disgruntled fans walking around after the match!
-
Hi Fruity...... ;D
-
I'm back in the land of the living. Still Little groggy after the anesthesia.
-
Are you ok Dash, can you eat yet..
-
I'm good thanks Robyn. I have already had a sandwich and cup of tea with bickies.
-
Thank God you are ok, rest up now. Hope your arm is better soon. :)
-
I have already had a sandwich and cup of tea with bickies.
Spoilt! ;D ;D ;D
How are you going to manage cooking Den? Will you be alright to do that?
-
I don't plan on letting this slow me down Amy. I should be able to do a little cooking over the next couple of days and then should be back to normal.
I don't know how to add quotes in tapatalk. Robyn I'm fine. Just had a plate removed from a bad break caused by a bike fall a couple years ago. Surgeon also eased the carpal tunnel.
-
You only need one hand to turn the dial on the thermothingy anyway ;D
How many stitches have you got?
-
I am so glad you are going to be OK Dash, we need you as our wonderful Male.....Friend, forum buddy....
I am really a remedial massage therapist, but have a pump shop too.

Hi Fruity...... ;D
hi, haven't managed to kill the thread yet.... wish I could kill my toe.... :(((((((((((((
-
Is it still sore fruity? :(
-
Thread still going well fruity :) :) :)
-
Hope your toe gets better Fruity :P
-
It is very very very very sore, have an appt with the surgeon Wednesday, going to request an amputation. DH managed to drop the hose end of our new dishwasher yesterday, and like a magnetic pole, it landed on my toe, dropped me to the ground in a screaming quivering mess. I have been battling this toe in excess of 2 years, I think it has had enough time to prove itself. I was walking 8 - 10 km a day, and competed in a half mara walk before it got so bad, now I am hobbling after a 2 km stroll.
-
Oh Fruity hope you get something sorted nothing is more frustrating that not being active when you are so used to it :-[
-
It does sound like amputation may be your best option. :-[ Will it effect your balance or anything?
-
Oh gosh, it sounds horrific :o
Goodbye toe....
-
It does sound like amputation may be your best option. :-[ Will it effect your balance or anything?
No, as it is the 2nd toe, only the big toe affects balance.
Thinking I should host a toe off party, for everyone boots and all to toe the line, get their foot in the door and kick things off! ;)
-
Great idea Fruity, hope it gets sorted soon. :)
-
Wish I never ate that packet of jelly beans cos they made me feel sick :-\
-
Didn't you save me any CP :( :(
-
I could have warned you about that CP :-))
-
2 glasses of wine will make you feel better CP will have to be a dry one though
-
Just got home from a thermothingy demo
GO THE EAGLES
-
Was the demo good Sue? :D
Smiley :)
-
Yes, sold 3 to good friends of mine.
:) :) :)
-
Good work! ;D ;D ;D
-
I didn't demonstrate gave that up last year but I have friends that are interested. I just organised.
:) :) :) :)
-
I tried to change my own dressing yesterday. DW is useless at these things. Any how when I started to ease the top dressing off some of the steri strips were stuck to the dressing. :( Lazy bugger surgeon didn't use stitches.
I had to re-stick the old dressing back down. I wish I had one of our nurse members here to assist me.
-

In the end steri strips may leave a neater scar - provided that they are strong enough to keep the wound closed. I sliced a finger open on Easter Sunday. The doctor I visited steri stripped rather than stitched. Wound fell open a few times which was annoying but I think it's probably a neater scar because I don't have the little holes from the stitches surrounding it although it is perhaps wider than it might have been if there were stitches.
Hope it heals well for you. I visited another doctor a few days later who kindly stuck the wound back together for me. From then on I could do it myself.
-
DD, you can buy steri strips from the chemist. Just make sure that the two edges of the skin are put together as neat as possible (don't leave a gap and don't overlap) before applying fresh steri strips.
Don't want an ugly scar ruining your boyish good looks. :D
-
Don't want an ugly scar ruining your boyish good looks. :D
That would be devastating ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Michelle. The chemist only had the skinny steri strips and DW couldn't look at the wound site to help me apply them. The edges of the wound are sticking together nicely, the strips are now just keeping it from opening back up.
I went to the a& e at mt local hospital when I hit back home and a lovely nurse redressed it for me.
-
That's good DD. Poor DW, some people just can't deal with wounds or any thought of blood.
I can't give myself eyedrops. :-))
-
Summers coming...I can hear the blowies
-
Two things I hate about summer: blowies and heat :(
-
I love the heat, hopefully by this weekend we can be in the pool.... :D
-
We love summer too and it will our first whole summer with our new pool, can't wait!
I could live somewhere where it's warm all year ;D
-
we put new solar heating up yesterday on our roof for our pool.
-
We have solar heating too it works great now just waiting for the nights to stay above 15 degrees and the days to get warmer then we will be good to go
-
Golly isn't this thread dead yet?
-
Cookie, we are doing our bit to help keep it..
-
If we all pitch in now and again we will keep it alive. In memory of fruity's toe :)
-
mcmich l cant give myself eye drops either, ends up running down my cheek or in my mouth yuckoo
-
Doing my bit to keep this thread going.
-
Slammed my hand in a door at work :(
-
Poor you Amy. But... Good for the thread as it will no doubt attract some postings!
-
the toe saga continues.... off for more surgery next Thursday to remove all the metal hardware and I have classic rejection symptoms.... oh yay! even the metal rejects me (hehe) and then will most probably end up having the toe removed at a later stage, they are planning on taking bone and tissue samples to find out what is going on and how to treat it before resecting the toe further up the foot (toe amputation is a big surgery apparently) who would've thunk a blister......
-
Ouch Amy, that sounds nasty.
-
Oh no fruity! :'( :'( :'(
We could make a soap opera out of your toe saga :-))
All this from just a little blister on your toe.... unbelieveable :o
-
fruity that does not sound good. I hope it all goes well.
Slammed my hand in a door at work :(
Amy you are supposed to make sure your hand is on the outside of the door before you close it. :-[ I hope you haven't damaged yourself.
-
keep the soap opera going......

Amy you are supposed to make sure your hand is on the outside of the door before you close it. :-[ I hope you haven't damaged yourself.
Yeah... that would have been the smart thing to do :-))
I hope there is no serious damage, but if I keep getting this pain up my arm and into my fingers I might go get it checked out :-\
-
How is your hand Amy? hope you haven't done any damage to it
-
I went to the physio yesterday to have acu-torture, so I asked him about it. He says I have probably damaged the medial nerve. So I've just got to be careful for a few days :-)) Thanks for asking! :)
How is THE toe?
-
Take care Fruity and Amy..
-
This thread is trying to be a people killer :-\

keep it, don't kill it. ;D
Now hope everyone is well today, and no injuries...
-
Lovely sunny day here today after a couple of wild and woolly ones.
-
Wish i could buy old bananas from the supermarket. The F&V man must've been on a break and all the bananas were half green
-
have a couple of kilos of bananas that need cooking, will have to look in THAT cookbook to see what I can do :-)) :-)) :-))
-
Opposite the carrot cake recipe is Trudy's banana cake...yum yum
Just making brazens banana yoghurt & blueberry cake as kezza said hers didn't work out, so I'm trying to work out why
-
CP, I have 8 overripe bananas at the moment, also about 3 kilos of mashed banana in the freezers, want some...
-
Ohhh, I love bananas :D :D :D
-
Pop over Amy, I live a fair way away though...
-
I'd love to Robyn... I wish someone would hurry up and invent a teleport machine ;D
-
Yes ha ha :D I really want some of those really really black nanas that just about fall part in your hands as you take skin off. Unfortunately ours don't last long enough to get to that stage but they are the best for everything. I probably should put some aside for this purpose but I would like to get some where the price has been reduced :D marvelous what a difference a couple of days makes to the price sometimes, but our 2 big supermarkets near us rarely sell reduced priced fruit
-
I like those bananas too CP. On Friday our local supermarket put two trolleys with F&V in that they wanted to get rid off cheaply. You can fill a plastic bag with as much as you can fit in and then they seal it and price it at $3. I got two containers of blueberries, some mandarins (which were beautiful) some pak choy, cos lettuce, and cucumber. There were 3 blueberries I had to throw out the others were great and I have put them in the freezer. They will come in very handy
Marie
-
BLUEBERRIES :o :o :o
I LOVE blueberries ;D
-
You got lucky emme ;D
-
You got lucky emme ;D
About the only time CP ;D ;D
Marie
-
CP, we have banana trees, we also get given bananas for free.
I always have mashed ones in the freezer for cakes. :)
-
I love bananas. Did you know that if you eat a banana before drinky poos, it helps you the morning after - something to do with the B12, and probably having something in your stomach :D I haven't told my kids that tip but. Also roses love banana skins as they contain a lot of potassium. Also mozzies particularly are attracted to people who've eaten bananas. This is all probably heresy, but it's keeping the thread going ;)

I'll try and remember that CP. Don't like the bit about the mozzies though ???
Marie
-
The fact about the mozzies is true CP ;) ;) ;)
-
:D :D :D
-
Now I know why mozzies like all of us, we like bananas.
-
I wonder if there is something you can eat to keep them away, like garlic keeps vampires and elephants away :-))
-
can understand the elephants Amy, grow lots of garlic and havent seen 1 elephant in our vegetable patch ;D ;D ;D
-
We haven't either LOL :D :D :D So it MUST be true! ;D
-
exactly Amy, no vampires either ;D ;D ;D
-
hello
-
Hi Robyn :)
-
Just killed a blowie. I'm actually starting to think they may be very intelligent creatures cos they can outsmart me ;) I reckon they have brought their young up to watch out for the big yellow plastic thingy, cos when I go and get it they hide
-
start of summer CP
-
Yep, to be sure to be sure
-
They don't usually escape me when I'm armed with a can of fly spray ;D
-
Amy I have heard that B12 (?) keeps them away. If you take the tablets and eat lots of vegemite. Not too sure though. :D :D
-
Did the vegemite company tell you that Cookie? ;D
-
pull the other one cookie :D ;D ;D I won't take any chances tho and ill leave the B12 vitamin container on the kitchen bench and see if it works (do you think they can read labels?)
-
ROFL ;D ;D ;D
-
I had to get up at 2 am this morning and arm myself with a can of flyspray... love spring / summer but hate the flies...
-
I hate it when that happens fruity >:( How are you? :)
-
Also mozzies particularly are attracted to people who've eaten bananas.
It would seem that the bite you once for each banana you eat. I had three small bananas this morning and I have three mozzie bites >:(
-
Oh dear :-[
-
There you go :D have you got any b12 around now to prove the blowie theory?
-
If you drink bitter lemon the mozzies don't bite :)
-
Oh dear :-[
My language was slightly more colourful after the third bite ;D
There you go :D have you got any b12 around now to prove the blowie theory?
I had mushrooms with my lunch. Will that count? :-))
-
I don't know about the B12 theory but I know what happens when they get squashed on a window :D :D
Marie
-
Had a laugh re the B12 comments.
Amy don't get bitten by mozzies. They carry very nasty bugs. My DH was ill with Ross river a few years ago. It is not fun.
-

Mozzies always bite me. They seem to be attracted to me even when I haven't eaten bananas. Mum "jokes" that when I was younger she used to take me outside when she hung the washing out because then the mozzies would bite me instead of her :(
-
Mozzies are attracted to me too Amy.
I love the smell of areoguard - very comforting and the only thing I've found that stops mozzies. Citronella candles are a waste and so are the mozzie coils.
-
I got Ross River fever about 15 years ago..not good.
i used to work for the company that makes aeroguard
-
very quiet here last couple of days.
Well, I'm sitting here watching the cricket and now rain has stopped play.

Grand Final day here in Melbourne - that means today is THE BEST DAY TO GO SHOPPING in the whole year!
Never thought of that before, I guess if they are not at the game then they are home watching it on tv.
-
Good thinking Marina ;) I'm not into watching sport so I would probably hit the shops ;D
-
We have planned our day so we can watch the match ;D ;D ;D
love sport Amy, stayed up to see Australia beat India
-
I'm glad I am not the only one who couldn't care less about watching the GRAND final ;) :D
-
Grand Final day here in Melbourne - that means today is THE BEST DAY TO GO SHOPPING in the whole year!
That comment has turned out to be a double edged sword - our shop is dead quiet today!!! Usually we see heaps of people passing, heading for the MCG and there aren't even that many on the streets ... yet.
-
Hope you get some customers soon :)
-
Drinking gin and tonic keeps the mozzies away ;D ;D ;D well it stopped us getting malaria when we lived in PNG and we have never had it in Peth so it must work :D
-
red wine seems to work for me Jeninwa :) :) :)
-
anyone watching the footy - I've just given up although have the radio going
-
Red wine is very good....
-
Drinking gin and tonic keeps the mozzies away ;D ;D ;D

-
That doesn't sound good cookie :(
-
Hi Amy how are you tonight? Did your mum have a good birthday?
-
Hi MF, I'm good thanks :) I started work at 2:30pm and just knocked off at 9pm, so I'm a bit tired and hungry! :-)) I think mum had a good birthday. We went shopping this morning and she choose her present, and she also bought herself some things with the birthday money she got from her mum and dad ;D I made her cake this afternoon before I went to work, and then her sister-in-law came around and gave her a nice plant for the patio :)
-
That's great Amy and glad to hear she had a nice day.
Have something to eat and then go to bed.
I am very tired too as had 4 grandchildren all day yesterday and two here again today.
Was fun but tiring :)
-
Thanks MF :)
Maybe you should hit the sack soon too, I can imagine 4 grandkids would be a handful! :-))
-
In the sack now Amy ;)
-
I hope its a comfy sack ;D
-
Hello Amy
-
Hi Robyn! :D
-
Must have been comfy as I have just woken up ;D
Morning everyone :) cloudy here today.
-
Hi MF :)
-
Hi MF, we are a bit cloudy down here too :-))
I'm glad I went for my run early this morning :)
-
Sorry haven't been around for a bit, ended up not feeling real flash Sunday after the op on Wednesday, rode it out Monday, felt worse Tuesday with hot sweats and about 1.5 hours sleep Tuesday night with ever increasing pain. As toe was still dressed from op, I rang surgeon's room, who wanted me to come in. Which I did, and after the toe was undressed realised why I felt so rotten.
It was a beautiful rainbow of colours from almost black to almost yellow. I had contracted a staph infection and have just arrived home from 5 days on IV AntiBiotics.
Realised while I was in hospital that when someone is unwell, fallen on hard times, generally feeling down that I am the first one to help out, was sadly disappointed to realise that street is a one way road. :( :'(
-
Oh fruity!! I'd noticed you hadn't been online and was going to call if you didn't come on today.
That sounds terrible. You and your toe have certainly had a bad run of luck :( :( :(
-
Poor you Fruity :(
Hope your toe gets better soon.
Don't sweat over people that don't do the right thing by you as they are not worth it :)
Take care and hope the antibiotics take effect soon :)
-
Sorry to hear about your troubles fruity and hope you are on the road to recovery after your latest treatment. It is sad to know others were not there for you when you needed help - this is not surprising as life is full of one way street situations.

Thank you very very very much JD, I can now say I got one bunch of flowers. :'( :'( :'( :'(

Hope you start to feel better soon Fruity. Take care and look after yourself. :-* :)
-
Hope you're well on your way to recovery fruity.
-
Fruity I hope things start to improve for you soon.
Take care xx
-
Oh fruity hope you are feeling better today with all your friends on the forum, when you feel down just come on here and we will all be here for you.
-
Well that explains why you didn't weigh in with all of our foot and toe jokes. I hope that you are feeling better and that the infections is on its way out.
-
Oh fruity, you've had a tough time. Hope things turn around for you soon. Wish I could send you chocolates. :)
-
My DH got staph after a knee op. Sending you heaps of get well wishes :-*
-
Fruity I am so sorry you have had a rotten time. Do take care. Sadly help given is often a one way thing. At least you now know who not to help. Take care.. X
-
Sorry to hear that Fruity. I hope you are back up and running quickly.
I only had 1 visitor when I was in hospital for 3 weeks, and she only arrived the day after I had mildly moaned on Twitter that no one was visiting (my Twitter friends aren't anyone I know nearby but someone does live nearby follows my tweets via FB). Odd co-incedence.
-
Hope your on the improve fruity.
I'm so sorry no-one came to visit. If you had an iPad and been online in hospital, we would have kept you entertained and I'm sure some one here would have helped anyway we could, I know I would have if you were in Melbourne
At least your home now and we can keep in touch
-
Hope you are getting better Fruity.
-

Hope you can get on top of this bug soon, Fruity!
-
Oh Fruity hope you feel better soon :) :)
-
awww thank you every one. It is very warming to receive all your good wishes. an Ipad is on my upcoming birthday wishlist ;)
-
Good to hear, they make hospital much more bearable (ESP if hospital has wifi a d there is a Mac/another iOS device in your house then you can FaceTime, something I did some nights when the missus could only do a flying visit)
Though hopefully this will be the last hospital stay for you.
-
Hello again :D
-
Hopefully everyone is well today... :)
Still thinking of you fruity :-* I hope you have a very long and expensive birthday list, you deserve to be spoiled!! :D
-
each day is better than the one before.

OMG
-
Last photo looking pretty good Fruity - how many days between first and last picture? No wonder you were feeling rotten!
-
I agree with Amy. :o :o :o
But there does seem to be a noticeable improvement in the last photo.
-
First photo was taken last Wednesday. Last photo was in Sunday. The IV ABs worked amazingly quickly but he knew which ABs it was reactive too which helped.
-
Sorry fruity, but if that toe was attached to me I would cut it off myself :-))
-
Interesting, but gross you poor thing. Can see a remarkable improvement in those two photos so glad they got the antibiotics right.
-
There is a big difference between the Wednesday photo and the Sunday photo. Hopefully it will keep improving at that rate.
But I have to say, Ewwwwww yuk. I curled up my toes when I looked at it !
I hope you are feeling better. Keep in touch
-
poor love :-*
-
Poor fruity, hope it continues to improve. It certainly looked better in the last photo.
Marie
-
You poor thing fruity. The Sunday photo certainly looks better so hopefully that means you have beaten the infection and on the road to recovery.
-
it's hard to even imagine how painful that must have been, and how painful it probably still is
best wishes for your recovery
-
Yucko Fruity it does look a lot better than the first photo I hope you start getting some relief
-
Oh fruity! Take care of yourself and glad things are still improving for you. :)
-
O.U.C.H.... :o :o :o
-
Hope you are getting better Fruity
-
Had a review with doc yesterday, who is pleased with the progress, is keeping me on strong ABs for 6 weeks, wound check again at 3 weeks, and after 6 weeks have an MRI and a referral to the doc foot / ankle doc in Victoria, there is a very real chance I will have to have it amputated.
-
Would you be glad to get rid of the unfortunate toe fruity? Glad the doc is pleased so far :)
-
After all you have been through, I hope it doesnt come to that. >:(
I really hope that the antibiotics work wonders for your toe.
-
Yes Fruity hope the antibiotics work :)
-
Fingers and toes crossed fruity it will not come to that. Is it painful still?
-
Good luck with it all Fruity.
-
All the best fruity. I hope it doesn't come down to amputation.
-
Wishing you the very best fruity. Take care. :-*
-
yes very painful still, trying manuka honey on a dressing to try and attack infecton
-
Is manuka honey the same as medi-honey? ???
-
Is manuka honey the same as medi-honey? ???
I think it has the same properties.
-
pretty close
-
My mum used it on her burns after radiation. Its awesome stuff ;)
-
Honey cured a dear friends ulcers on his leg after they had tried everything else they could think of.
-
Manuka is the New Zealand work for tea tree , and tea tree oil is fantastic, I used the money on my Late DH ulcers also it's very good.
-
I love essential oils, have tea tree in every car we have. must have 7 or 8 bottles of it.
Kills ticks fast.
-
Manuka certainly stung yesterday and looking very red and inflamed today but have lost a lot of the dead skin, still an open "hole" with active ooze.
Saddest news is that DD now is no longer BF, says Yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
-
Hopefully your on the mend soon Fruity.
It's a very sad day when our little ones self wean we seem to be more upset than them most of the time :-)) xx
-
Hope you feel a bit better soon Fruity, weaning is an emotional time.... :)
-
Saddest news is that DD now is no longer BF, says Yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

I didn't know that Robyn. Coming into tick season again and constantly have to check Harry Hound. He got a tick 2 seasons ago and his back legs were paralysed when we founf him. It was dreadful for him and very costly.

I thought it was best friend too. :-))

Phew, I wasn't the only one ;D ;D

We must revive this thread... with something.... ;D
-
for Fruity.... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :-*
-
Gee I'm over that Gangnam song :-))
-
Isn't it funny how a song that is not even in English but has a catchy tune with a funny dance can become so popular. It will go the way of the macarena eventually and Psy will slip back into Korean obscurity.
-
Me too, I am over it
-
I don't even know what song we are talking about ???
-
My 11yr old DS loves this song and has mastered the dance moves, I quite like it though :-[ I did buy him a wall sticker for his newly decorated bedroom that says "Carry on and Gangnam Style"
-
I just youtubed it, I know what we are talking about now ;D
-
I had heard about it but saw it for the first time the other day. Very catchy.
-
Cookie a group of vintage caravans came through town today. A couple of them were pulled by vintage cars. I immediately thought of you and your DH.
-
I had heard about it but saw it for the first time the other day. Very catchy.
I am going to show my age here Cookie, but I like that Old time Rock & Roll ;D ;D
Marie
-
Can't stand Gangnam style... ergggh. Worms its way into my head, and I find myself turning UP the volume in the car without thinking about it.
Has anyone reintroduced dairy? Am struggling both mentally and physically with it
-
cookie do you know of anyone who has got a speeding ticket in a vintage car? Apart from racing cars do they go fast?
-

If it has been quite some time since you last had dairy your body may have stopped producing lactase (the enzyme that processes lactose). Try lactose free dairy things and see if that helps?
-
cookie do you know of anyone who has got a speeding ticket in a vintage car? Apart from racing cars do they go fast?
CP I once got a speeding ticket in my old Morris Major. I wanted to frame it for display. :)

CP it depends on the car and the condition of the engine and body. They generally like to sit around 70 to 80 kph. One of our club members got picked up for doing 80 kph but he disputed it as he said the car couldn't do it ands they let him off. In fact he probably was doing that speed. It was here in SA after a national rally.
-
;D ;D ;D too funny cookie and DD
-
MY DH is taking our 2 cars to a car club thing this weekend. He is so excited, and I'm so NOT... :)
I want to spend the day cooking...
-
I kinda know the feeling. We are going up to the Birdwood National Motor Museum later this week. I will enjoy it, and looking at the cars. But not all day and having every single thing explained to me, with the whys and wherefores. Oh well, it's a matter of hate it or join in. He does love his old cars.
-
We pick up our 2nd car from being fully restored tomorrow.
At least I get a great birthday pressie, and he has his 2 cars
-
I remember my dad dragging us kids to the Birdwood museum cookie - I feel your pain!
-
Cookie, get DH to drop you off in Hahndorf on his way to Birdwood ....... lots of things there to keep you happy ;D
-
I've really wanted to go to Hahndorf since mum and SD came back from holidays there are told me how wonderful it was :-))

Thank you
H :)
You're welcome! ;D Glad it was of some use!! :) :) :)
so astarra l missed this one ? so how do you peel your onions ?
-
Nazar you cut them in quarters first then peel I also cut the ends of as well :)
-
Sorry yes you are meant to cut the ends off too, top end anyway, then I do the bottom end once I have the skins pulled back! I am so glad this trick is helping others like it helps me. :D
-
Hello Fruity, still here ;D ;D ;D

-
Oh Obbie, my hubby does the same but with lillies (I love love love oriental (star gazer) lillies but they can be a bit hard to find) all the time, I always have at least one bunch and a little spoilt at the moment with 2 (a beautiful dark burgandy and a lovely vibrant yellow) bunches sitting on my entrance table.

Sorry, has taken a while to process, and I have been so busy with end of month statements/ invoices etc etc I haven't got back on here.
I went back to my specialist last Wednesday and he is almost 100% certain the staph infection is in the bone, which isn't wonderful news.
Had organised an appointment for me with the top foot and ankle specialist in Victoria at the end of this month but he is pretty sure I will need a radical resection of the 2nd toe (amputation).
Came home and told mum and she is horrified at the prospect but I just want to get back to normal. Had a weekend in Melb about 10 days ago and went to do the Vic Market, I managed to hobble 2 lanes and then was in too much pain to continue, and by the end of the car trip home, my 2nd toe was bigger than my big toe.
SOrry for the woe is me post.
-
Glad for the update Fruity, even tho the news it not the best. :(
Hope things settle down for you soon, you poor thing. :-*
-
It is a hard decision fruity bbut you have battled with it for a long time and it must be getting you down.
My DD had something similar. She had a bad break (horse stood on it) in her ring finger on her right hand. The bone got infected and wouldn't heal. After about six months she made the declension with the surgeon to go for amputation. She is happy that she made that decision. She was able to get on with life and the surgeon did a great job. People don't even notice she is missing the finger.
Good luck with it.
-
Just wishing the best, Fruity - hobbling around in constant pain is the absolute pits!! Not a great decision to have to make- but putting myself in your position I think I'd just be glad to be painfree!!! . . . . and free of the infection . . . .Good luck!! Will be (and have been) thinking of you!
-
Wishing you the very best fruity. It must be so frustrating for you, hopefully pain free days are not too far away for you. :-*
-
Best wishes fruity, I can't imagine the pain you must be in :'(
It sounds like the amputation will be the only way for you to get some relief :-\
-
Take care Fruity :) :)
-
Sorry the news wasn't better but it will be good to be pain free, good luck xx
-
Wishing you all the best Fruity :-*
Marie
-
Hoping for the best for you Fruity
-
Fruity, you poor darling. Sorry the news wasn't better, but you never know what the specialist may come up with.
Whatever happens, I hope you're up and running again soon. :-*
-
Have missed this thread until now.
So sorry to hear about toe problems.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
Not quite the same but when young had a joint removed from middle toe left foot. It was deformed and they removed joint and fused the toe.
Painful, but so much better after, noprobs since.
Good Luck and hope you feel better soon.
-
Missed this too.
Sorry to hear your in pian, you poor love, its the pitz.
H :)
-
DoverJess, I have already had the joint removed, and a Kwire inserted, but the bones didn't fuse, so it was rebroken this year plated and screwed, but, my body rejected the plate and screws, so they were taken out, and then the staph infection.
Thank you everyone, this is a wonderful forum I am so glad to have stumbled (no pun intended) across
-
Sending you best wishes and lots of hugs fruity. Sounds like you are going to get the best medical care. All the best xox
-
Sorry to hear that news fruity but I can understand you just want it over and done with so that you can move on. Good luck with whatever they decide to do to make your life so much easier.
-
Take care fruity. It may be for the best.
-
Fruity, whatever the outcome I hope you finally get some relieve from the pain & the stress it must be causing. Good luck and take care xx
-
Hang in there Fruity, it has to be better than what you have been through.
I don't offer come on here as I really might kill this thread.
-
Fruity, I will keep it going. soon you be pain free :)
-
Oh Fruity that's terrible to hear. Hope it goes well and you are ok soon.
You are so right about this amazing place.
Xx
-
Best wishes buddy :-*
-
Terrible news Fruity and it must be very hard to make such a tough decision. All the best.
-
Thinking of you Fruity :)
-
Ooh I don't want this thread to die.
11.11 Today is Remembrance Day.
-
Hello all ;D
-
Thinking of you fruity - whatever the outcome I hope it is pain-free for you.
Moptop
-
I forgot that I was supposed to remember today.... :-))
-
Terrible when you forget to remember something, luckily I was cooking and had the radio on so I had my minutes silence, had to turn my tm off though, it's not exactly quiet
-
I was reminded as soon as my eyes opened this morning... "mum, you must remember it is remembering day today." (Miss6)
...quickly followed by..."I'm hungry." :-))
-
I forgot too but heard it in the car when i was at the egg farm. Sat in the car with my eggs for my minutes silence and then felt so flat.
I continued onto my weekly shop, supermarket, green grocers and bakery. Just felt miserable until I went into the bakery and the lady gave me a free coffee because someone had not come back for their order. It was only a coffee but the fact that someone I didn't know offered me something out of kindness picked up my spirits a little.
This afternoon I'm miserable again still sorting through my late brothers personal effects. Bags of mementos he kept from holidays. :(
-
Chrissa - :-* :-* :-* :'(
-
Take care Chrissa, that is hard to do, :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Thanks
-
That would be so hard to do chrissa but I'm sure he would be pleased you are taking the time to go through them all and not just throwing them in the bin. It sounds like a bit of an up and down day for you - group hug :-*
-
- group hug :-*
JD that bought a smile to my face ;)
-
I'll be in the group hug too Chrissa :-* It must be very hard for you to be going through the belongings of your brother like this :'( When my mum's brother passed away, most of his belongings were stolen >:( That made us very sad too :(
-
Oh Chrissa, that is an awful job. You laugh at some photos and cry at others - a real emotional roller coaster. Thinking of you and sending lots of happy thoughts.
Moptop
-
Hugs and kisses from me too Chrissa xox
-
Big hugs from me too Chrissa :-*
-
Chrissa, it is a horrid job but must be done. You will find yourself having so many memories as you do it. Some happy and many sad.
My thoughts are with you.
-
Big hugs from me too Chrissa :-*
-
Thanks for your support. It wasn't just photos, he never threw out anything so I had receipts, maps and all sorts of things including some hand written notes. That's all sorted out now. I've thinned it out and stored it in a box.
I've still got lots of other papers to go through but the holiday stuff was tough because you'd see a little ticket or entry receipt for something and instantly your feeling is "I'll have to ask him about that" but then the thought then is just, I'll never get the chance.
Too sad.
-
Big Hugs from me too
-
Chrissa, big hugs from me too :)
-
. . . and me . . . I really feel for you - it's just so hard . . .
-
Chrissa huge hugs from me, that must be very difficult
-
Such a difficult job, Chrissa. Big hug
Marie
-
Thank you all for your kind wishes.
I think I felt all those hugs. I finished the last box of personal papers and photos this afternoon.
I just hope i didn't throw out something important.
Now I have three large keepsake boxes to put somewhere. Guess ill be cleaning out my own cupboards shortly
Again, thanks for the support. Believe me it helped.
-
Thinking of you Chrissa
-
lalalalallalalala ;D
-
Very tuneful Robyn ;D
-
Thanks Amy, i need to practice more....
lalalalalalalalalalalalalal
-
Reminds me of that 'sha-la-la-la-la, sha-la-la-la-la in the morning...' song! :)
-
It reminds me of Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" :) I love that song! :D :D :D
-
Amy that is my all time favourite song - love, love, love it
-
It's such a beautiful song :D And so is "Piano Man" by Billy Joel.
I love that sort of music :) :) :)
-
Love piano man :):):)
-
Billy Joel sure can play! I love the piano solo in "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" too ;D
-
;D ;D ;D
-
And he was good looking when he was young too ;) ;D
-
I like Billy Joel too. He is a homeboy from Long Island. For a while after he married Christi Brinkley they had a house in my home town.
Many years ago he donated an old 1940's Harley og his for a charity raffle. A good friend of mine won it.
There is a really good music video of him playing "A matter of Trust" in a New York basement.
-
Lucky guy to win the Harley! ;)
I'll have to look up that video, but I must say Billy is much too good to play in too many basements ;D
-
It is shot like it is a practice session. After a minute Billy stops and says it is hot so they open the doors and windows that open onto the street. When they start playing again the camera's pick up people on the street looking around to see where the music is coming from. Eventually a crowd starts to form outside the building with people dancing and stuff.
-
Awesome, going to look it up now ;D
-
lallalalalallalallalalalalalalalalalaa
-
DroverJess, how is the job hunting going ?
-
Jess hope you are ok
-
Oh hello. Thanks for asking Chrissa.
I get some temp nannying from an agency, but sometimes it gets cancelled. I had a booking for Monday, then that was cancelled but may come through for the week after, and booked babysitting for tomorrow night was booked, terms agreed, then cancelled.
My DH has job applications in all the time, some times you hear nothing at all. Very frustrating. He has been helping family for last few weeks and is away in the week.
I finally sorted the kitchen yesterday, and will try to make headway elsewhere in the house this week. Hard to settle in when you expect to move again soon, but dont know where.
Had a lovely evening tonight with all 4 of us here. :D
-
You sound a lot happier DJ, maybe just more settled.
Hope the work situation becomes more regular for you both.
-
Well am happy today as DH is home, and I met the lovely CC yesterday.
Thursday was a different matter. LOL.
It's ups and downs, all the time.
-
As long as you can always find a way up from the downs DJ ;) And if you can't, come on here and we will help you :D
-
lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalallalala :)
-
Hello Robyn ;D
-

I'm a lot happy now, thanks astarra :-* :D
-
Haha
-
LOL ;D
-
That's so funny, but true CP.
-
Hello CP, how are you, Nice to see you popped in..
-
Pmsl.. Cp love it ... 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Just came onto this thread and on tapatalk there are 25 pages of blah... Man u guys can talk about nothong 😄😄
-
What do you mean "nothing"? There are some very intelligent conversations in this thread Frozzie ;D
-
If you say so amy lol
-
I most certainly do Frozzie ;D
Did you know that the muscles that bend your ankles and raise your toes are called the extensor digitorum muscles?
See, how intelligent is that ;)
-
I just spent so much time looking for scrubby information that I now have 3 pages of forum postings to read :o ;D
-
LOL Judy, we like to chat :D :D :D
-
😄😄😄😄judy..
-
Oh well at least your keeping me sane.. Just slightly!
-
The nerve network in your hip is called your sacral plexus ;D
-
Oh boy here she goes 😄😄😄
-
Get onto the more interesting parts of the body Amy ;)
-
The normal static electricty shock that zaps your finger when you touch a doorknob is usually between 10,000 and 30,000 volts
-
The muscle between your thumb and forefinger is called your first dorsal interosseus muscle ;)
Is that anymore interesting Judy? ;D
-
Nope ;D
-
You're a hard master Judy ;D
The muscle behind your knee is called the semimembranosus muscle :D Thats what James Bond uses when he pulls back his leg to kick doors open in the movies :D
-
Why such big names, why not the muscle behind your knee?
-
Dont think thats it amy lol
-
She is just trying to sound intelligent suzanne 😄😄😄
-
Lalalalalalalalal.
-
Why such big names, why not the muscle behind your knee?
Because that would be too easy to remember. The silly people who invented these names just wanted to make it hard for the rest of us :P
She is just trying to sound intelligent suzanne
I am intelligent Frozzie :D
-
If you say so amy 😄
-
🙉🙉🙉
-
Think i might have scared her off...
-
Nope, still here Froz ;D Just watching Mrs Brown's Boys at the same time ;)
-
Im watching the mentalist 😊 and still posting lol
-
Well aren't you a clever cookie :-))
-
I just read this and can't stop laughing. You girls are so funny but did you know by using those muscles and .......raising your legs slowly and lying on your back you cannot sink in quicksand! ;D
-
I was bathing the kid's whilst reading the forum, they love it because I get carried away and it ends up being a long bath::), probably a man invented all the silly names ;D
-
I just read this and can't stop laughing. You girls are so funny but did you know by using those muscles and .......raising your legs slowly and lying on your back you cannot sink in quicksand! ;D
I read that on my libra pads
-
LOL me too Suzanne! Love those things :D :D :D
-
The kid's think i'm so clever coming out with these 'did you know.....' tidbits
-
I just read this and can't stop laughing. You girls are so funny but did you know by using those muscles and .......raising your legs slowly and lying on your back you cannot sink in quicksand! ;D
I read that on my libra pads
That's so funny, I spat my drink on the screen.
-
The kid's think i'm so clever coming out with these 'did you know.....' tidbits
Me too ;D that's exactly where I got it from :)
-
lol
Suzanne keep them guessing 😊
-
They'll figure it out eventually but until that day.......
-
Rainbows are the reflection from the back of raindrops :D
-
Rainbows are pretty ;D
-
They are very beautiful, especially when they are over the ocean :D
-
And a distraction when your driving and trying to point them out to the 3 yr old whose looking in the wrong direction
-
And apparently (according to libra) look like donuts when viewed from above ;D
-
;D;D;D read that one too, we are full of useless information tonight, aren't we?
-
TYPEWRITER, is the longest word that can be made using the letters on only one row of the keyboard.
-
Lol Kimmy!
Reminds me of a homework project we sent home for Year 1. Someone had come up with a fact that I had read somewhere but couldn't quite remember until later that week iykwim! I think his mum must have helped him ;)
-
Lots of 'us' mummies around ;D;D
-
The ant is the animal with the largest brain in relation to its size ;D
-
Good memory too, always know when to come inside my place when Christmas arrives. It reminds me that Christmas is near :P
-
Lol Judy :-)) :D
You better watch out too because ants can carry up to 50 times their own body weight. So if your Christamas turkey weighs 1.5kg, it will only take 3000 ants to carry it out if each ant weighs 0.1 grams ;D
-
Thanks AMy, I'll keep that in mind LOL
-
Wow This thread took alot of reading!!!
Certainly hasn't been killed yet! ;)
-
We won't let that happen astarra ;D
We have too many interesting things to say!! :D
Did you know that women blink nearly twice as much as men? Maybe all the talking dries our eyes out ;D
-
Please stop I can't stop laughing. An picturing 3000 ants carrying JD's turkey down the hall, just like those cartoons we watched as children!! Too funny.
-
;D
-
I got another one about ants! They always fall to their right side when intoxicated ;D
-
So do I. ;D
-
ROFL!! ;D ;D ;D
-
LOL!! ;D
-
lalalalalalalalalalalallalalalalalala Hello every one
-
I got another one about ants! They always fall to their right side when intoxicated ;D
I want to know who did the double blind scientific study on this one and why? LOL ;D ;D
-
Good point Den... never thought of it like that! :)
Hello lalalalalala Obbie! :)
-
Hi Obbie :)
At least the ants would be a cheap shout Amy!
-
Thats true Kimmy! ;D
Crocodiles can't stick their tongues out ;D Poor things wouldn't be able to have ice creams then :(
-
Or blow raspberries! :o :D
-
Or lick the milk froth off their top lip :D
-
Or play tonsil hockey... ;D
-
I've never heard of that astarra, but it sounds interesting :-)) ;D
They wouldn't be able show extreme concentration either ;)
-
...another name for a toungie... :-)) It is fun (with the right person!!) :-*
LOL
-
Oh EWWWW!!! :o
ROFL ;D
-
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Miss3 wants to know what I am laughing at the 'puter for!? :D
-
Glad I don't have to answer that question astarra! :D :D :D
I'm sure you will come up with something good to tell her ;D
-
Just told her that you were funny Amy... ;)
no, I didn't really! ;D
Told her to go back to bed, actually! :-))
-
Well you wouldn't be lying if you told her I was funny ;D
And speaking of bed, did you know that a snail can sleep for three years? :o
-
And a horse can sleep standing up? :)
Wish the snail around here would sleep for 3 years...
-
I have never understood how horses can sleep standing up ??? What if they fell over? But I guess it would be easy for them to sleep walk if they were already standing up ;D
If I find any snails in my house or garden, they will be sleeping for a lot longer than 3 years :-))
-
I want to give them to my new pet (about to post a pic on the pets thread) but am worried they will have eated poison. :-\
-
Ooooh, how mysterious... maybe give your new pet something else? Slater bugs? :)
-
He's on there now. Hmm yeah I reckon he would eat slaters too, good thinking Amy! Thanx! ;D
-
I do not like snails, had to put tabasco sauce on them to try and stop dog from eating them. They apparently carry lung worm or something like that. Dog just looked at snails all frothing up and then looked at me as if to say nope, don't like them with chilli :D
Marie
-
LOL Marie ;D We used to use chilli powder ;)
He's on there now. Hmm yeah I reckon he would eat slaters too, good thinking Amy! Thanx! ;D
I used to feed my quail slater bugs. They loved them :D
-
Good tips Marie and Amy... I don't like the thought of snail bait with the girls around!
-
Definitely not a good idea astarra, good thinking ;)
You know they use peanuts in dynamite? ;D
-
lalalalalalalalalalalalala
-
Didn't know that one Amy :o
Hello Robyn! :D
-
Hello Astarra, I am back, just been on ebay, buying stuff for the kids...
-
What did you get? :D
-
lego, 3 lots and star wars figures for my kids...
-
If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee ;D
-
lalalalalalalalalalalalalalallaal
-
If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee ;D
Wow I have made a lot of coffees then as that is all I seem to do!
-
Kids Kimmy? :-)) ;D
-
I haven't heard you Kimmy! :D
-
The average chocolate bar has 8 insects' legs in it :o
-
That is disgusting Amy. :P
I don't even eat chocolate, another reason to add to my list as to why not....tho I only don't eat it simply cuz I don't like it!! :D
-
Aren't insects basically protein? Would the answer be on a libra pad do you think?
-
LOL CP!! :D
Bear Gryllis doesn't seem to mind insect protein anyway! :P
-
I'll keep my eye out for the answer CP ;D
-
This thread is hilarious today :o
Astarra we might have to revisit the friendship - I'm never too sure about people who don't like chocolate ???
-
Work in a choc factory for 10years and see how much you like choc after that... :P :D
-
Lol I think I would be sacked after the first day. I would have eaten all the profits :) :)
-
Only lasts 1 or 2 days - after that it is just a job... :-)) :P
-
Wow astarra, a chocolate factory! :o :D What was your job? Did you wrap all the chocolates in the pretty foil? ;D
Aren't insects basically protein? Would the answer be on a libra pad do you think?
Protein and dirt I would say CP :-))
-
Actually Amy...yes. By hand.
Also was quality control manager... thinking about it now, I was just a kid!! I started there part time when I was 12, after school and in the holidays etc. When I left school I started full time, left when I got married. :)
-
Wow!! That must have been a tedious job sometimes... I can't believe you started when you were 12 :o
Bet DH knew not to buy you chocolates ;D
-
How did you work when you were 12? It's against the law and has been for decades. Was this in NZ or Tassie?
-
I thought the same thing Mich. The law says you must be 14 and 9 months to be employed.
-
In NZ. Dunno, the boss was my uncle and needed the help after school - to break fudge into 1cm squares for in ice-cream, and it just basically went from there. I got taxed :-)) so I'm guessing the work law people knew about it, never actually thought about it to tell you the truth... :-))
-
Kiwis ??? My DH worked too from the age of 12 as a milk boy in Christchurch.
-
Those
Romans kiwis are crazy!! :D
-
You know it's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open? :D-choo ;D
-
And if you try to surpress a sneeze you could break a rib. :(
-
Or burst blood vessels in your nose :(
-
Think I'd rather the burst blood vessels than the broken ribs... :o
Ouch. :D
-
I'd rather just let my sneeze go! Its quite liberating :D :D
-
A good sneeze is as good as ...... I reckon ;D Yes I did know that Hally so you have to be careful when driving and sneezing at the same time.
-
Can leave a bit of a mess if you just let it go. I've been caught with people in the car, had a huge sneeze into my hand, and then have to discreetly wipe my hands on my clothes cos no tissues. Can't really put your hands back on the steering wheel like that....
-
LOL Cream Puff! :D

A good sneeze is as good as ...... I reckon ;D
I wouldn't know about that Judy, so I'll take your word for it ;D
Can leave a bit of a mess if you just let it go. I've been caught with people in the car, had a huge sneeze into my hand, and then have to discreetly wipe my hands on my clothes cos no tissues. Can't really put your hands back on the steering wheel like that....
The best place to sneeze if you don't have a tissue is into your shoulder or the crook of your elbow. Then you can just take off your shirt or jumper and wash it. Sneezing into your hand spreads more germs as you touch things :P
-
Good idea, but if your driving its safer in your hand ;)
If anyone sneezes in a shop I turn around and walk the other way so I don't walk into the germ bomb.
-
Was just thinking CP...You mustn't spend most (if not all) of your driving time with kids on board - there is always tissues or hankies or baby wipes or spare clothes or all of the above within easy reach then!!
-
I have tissues in the center console of my car.. easy to reach. :)
Bandaids, savlon creme, tea tree oil and tweezers for ticks..
wipes for kids.
water bottles..( full) :)
Crazy, but glad when I need them.
-
Yep my cars like a giant handbag, full of surprises ;D
-
No littlies now, and all the cars pockets and centre console ridiculously small. My tiny packet of tissues are kept in the glove box and I've got to ask someone to get it out for me :D mind you when they were young I still never carried all those things as I like to travel lightly. A bit of spit for grazes, a tissue and drink bottle was the kit. The standard answer for most things was "oh, you'll be alright" and they usually were. When they were babies that was different tho, I carried "the bag"
-
In our car we have a first aid kit, an umbrella, a map book, lots of CDs, a pair of binoculars, a window shade thing, reusable shopping bags, a box of tissues, all the junk mail, pens, notebooks, receipts, spare sunglasses.... man, when you list it like that its a wonder we fit in the car too!
-
I won't even start with what's in mine ::)
-
Next weekend DD1 is moving out of home and my car is loaded up with stuff. I've been driving around with a microwave and a vacume cleaner sitting on my back seat and the boot is chockers from stuff we bought. Just one more week to go and the car will be normal again ;D
-
If anyone sneezes in a shop I turn around and walk the other way so I don't walk into the germ bomb.
LOL!!!! :D :D
Me too!!!!! ;D ;D
-
I feel like the odd one out. My car is virtually empty compared to others here. Come to think of it so is my handbag! So I guess my car is like a handbag...tissues, phone charger, first aid kit, wet ones, pen and tampons. Yep that's it. :)
-
Don't worry Kimmy, the car I described is the family car. My little Goliath doesn't have any junk in him at all, only tissues, L-plates and sticky tape ;D
-
I clean the inside of my car and handbag once a week, no idea where it all comes from ::)
-
don't feel left out Kimmy, my car has a sun shade, phone charger, tissues and my curves tag, I carry a tiny hand bag, that fits my phone, money purse and a tea bag, (I don't drink normal tea) :D
-
A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death :o
-
Cheeky little b-ggers, wish they were easier to kill! :D
-
nine days.....
-
Wish I could live for 9 days without food. I don't seem to be able to go 9 minutes! ???
-
Some days I know that feeling completely.
-
I can relate to that too Moptop :-)) ;D
-
Polar bears are left-handed ;D
..... :-))
-
Really Amy, is that the hand they catch dinner with, I wonder who and why someone would bother trying to figure that out :-))
-
Really Amy....left handed polar bears?
-
Too much polar bear makes me left-handed too - and makes me have 2 left feet.... ;)
-
Really Amy, is that the hand they catch dinner with, I wonder who and why someone would bother trying to figure that out :-))
Maybe that the hand they use to pull the finger at the idiots who are studying them? :-))
Too much polar bear makes me left-handed too - and makes me have 2 left feet.... ;)
I'm sure that must be code because I can't figure it out ;D
-
Bundy rum..... ;D
-
Aha.... ;D
-
Good stuuf - in small doses!!! ;)
-
I'm sure I'll find out soon enough astarra ;) ;D Thanks for the warning, "small doses only!"
-
LOL!! :D
I'm not a big drinker, only have a drink if 1- I can be bothered, 2- I have someone to drink with, 3- it is not too strong and 4- it is not too big! ;D
Fussy ah?! ;)
-
Very fussy indeed :-))
But they sound like good drinking rules to me ;)
-
Does DB drink? :)
-
No, none of us do :)
-
That's great, it would save you so much money! :)
-
I love bundy bear. Didn't think he was left handed though!
-
Try drinking it with your left hand next time Kimmy. See if it tastes better ;D
That's great, it would save you so much money! :)
It certainly does :) Which is great because we don't have much money to spare anyway :-))
-

-
Hello Robyn! :D
Does Bundy make you sing? ;)
-
Hi astarra! :D
-
Afternoon Amy! :D
-
Its very hot here :P I have the air conditioning on full blast! How is the weather in Tassie? :)
-
Not too bad today, tho seems a bit muggy. :P Wish it would rain to clear the air. :)
-
Amy it is 25 in Albany. That is not hot. ;)
-
Depends what she is wearing, Den! :D ;)
-
Not too bad today, tho seems a bit muggy. :P Wish it would rain to clear the air. :)
I hate muggy weather. It seems to bring out those sticky little flies :(
Amy it is 25 in Albany. That is not hot. ;)
Well you come down here and stand in the sun, and then tell me its not hot :-))
-
I don't sing, but we have bundy
-
What color?
Red, White or Yellow?
My fave is white, then Red then yellow! :D
-
Red, black, Yellow, 33 Op, ( very rare)
-
We have Yellow UP, Yellow select vat, op, red, white and reserve. :D
-
If you keep a goldfish in the dark room, it will eventually turn white :o
-
That's interesting, an don't they also grow bigger if they are in a pond?
-
If you keep a goldfish in the dark room, it will eventually turn white :o
. .. so that's what happened . . . ???
-
Do you have a white goldfish GF?
That's interesting, an don't they also grow bigger if they are in a pond?
I think so CP. They thrive more in their natural envoironment ;)
-

Hi Obbie! :D
-
Hi Astarra ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Robyn - the rum balls on your blog... would they freeze and thaw ok? TIA :)
-
I usually eat them fast, but have frozen before.. :)
they are yummy.
-
The electric chair was invented by a dentist :-))
-
Most Dennis's are dentists. :)
-
Really? :) My dentist is called Barry :D
-
Boo hahaha
-
and I don't think our Dashing/Disasterdly/Delightful Den is a dentist either...or is he? ???
But apparently it is a fact, more people named Dennis are dentists than any other profession, more Garys (I think it is) are geologists than any other profession.. :D
-
and I don't think our Dashing/Disasterdly/Delightful Den is a dentist either...or is he? ???
But apparently it is a fact, more people named Dennis are dentists than any other profession, more Garys (I think it is) are geologists than any other profession.. :D
No, Den isn't a dentist ;D
Thats a very funny fact, maybe I should see what the most popular profession is among Amys :D
-
and I don't think our Dashing/Disasterdly/Delightful Den is a dentist either...or is he? ???
But apparently it is a fact, more people named Dennis are dentists than any other profession, more Garys (I think it is) are geologists than any other profession.. :D
No definitely not a dentist but sometimes the people I work with make it feel like I am getting fillings without anesthesia. LOL ;) ;)

-
They are delicious - they even smell great! Yummy yummy yum! ;D
-
Mmmm...... I love plums too ;D
-
Same...and I have a plum tree! :D It has lots and lots of little green plums on it ATM.... ;D
-
Oh I'm jealous now ;D You'll have lots of juicy little purple plums soon :D :D
-
Hopefully not too little!! And I hope I get some as the tree is right outside the cubby house window....
-
I think little fruit is good because its easier to eat ;)
Uh oh, you better get in quick or the girls will eat them all! ;D
-
They will try to, hopefully I see them in the morning when the girls are still asleep and I am hanging the washing so I can sneak a few without them seeing!! :D
-
Mums are good at that sort of thing :-)) :D
-
LOL - we have to be!! ;)
-
Especially with three kids! ;D
-
Yep! ;)
-
Not to mention DH of course! :D :D
-
Did someone say plums........ :)
-
:-X Will they ripen up, Obbie?
-
of course, every day they ripen up, and the kids eat them :)
-
poking head in *hi*
-
Hi fruity, how are you?
-
We've kept the thread alive! :D
-
Bit of a "what the" moment for you fruity...58 pages later...
-
Lol
-
Hehehehehehe..... ;D
-
we have kept this going for you Fruity...... :)
-
Obbie, are they green gage plums,? They are very green. ???
-
I don't know what sort, but our tree is loaded, and we picked them last Sunday, they ripen up to a dark red.
Kids eat them.
:) :)
-
Why do you pick them green Robyn? ???
-
because they then ripen up in a couple of days.
Otherwise the birds get them.. :)
-
I knew there had to be a reason, just didn't know what! We leaves ours on the tree til ripe then pick and eat as they ripen. :)
-
Cats have over one hundred vocal sounds, dogs only have about ten :o
-
A baby laughs on average 165 times/day, an adult only 30. What happened to the other 135? :D
-
Adults don't have anyone playing "peek-a-boo" with them :D
-
We learn to laugh on the inside.
-
Tree ripened green gages are lower in salicylates. Fun fact. Well, not really, probably only if you're a FAILSAFER.
-
What is a gage?
-
A type of plum CP;D
-
Thread still going. ;)
-
It certainly is ;)
An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain :o
-
No wonder they think they can't be seen if they have their head in the sand... :)
-
Why do they do that? ???
-
Cuz they don't have a very big brain, I guess. ;) ;)
-
LOL of course! ;D ;D
-
I can't believe how many pages there are in this thread. Just saying:) :) :)
-
Pity they have such big bottoms tho!!
I'll tell you a funny story (well I think it is funny) ... When DH and I were just friends (before we started being more-than-friends) he said something about wanting a bird with long legs and a big chest...so I went to the shops and brought him a soft toy ostrich and sent it to him. ;D He thought it was hilarious!!
Needless to say he didn't get the long legs on his bird when we got married!!! :-))
-
ROFL!!!!!! Love it astarra ;D ;D ;D
I'm sure he doesn't miss the long legs when he has someone like you ;)
I can't believe how many pages there are in this thread. Just saying:) :) :)
Its all for educational purposes Jenny ;D
-

It worked,
-
ROFL!!!!!! Love it astarra ;D ;D ;D
I'm sure he doesn't miss the long legs when he has someone like you ;)
I can't believe how many pages there are in this thread. Just saying:) :) :)
Its all for educational purposes Jenny ;D
DH has long enough legs for both of us!!! :D
-
;D;D astarra, only the legs he missed out on then
-
LOL Suzanne :D
Well.....was it you who mentioned about not being very large in the chest area...? Want some of mine?? ;)
-
Yes that was me, even dd3 agrees hoping for bigger ones than me::)
I think my sister got them all, put my new bathers on yesterday and well they aren't made for me:-[
-
My little sister always told me she wanted more than our 2nd oldest sister - but not as much as me. :-))
Not something we can do alot about!! :D
-
Nope not really although I would like them to be the way they were pre BF ;D
-
Mine got bigger every time. :o
I am a size 6-8 in the waist ...but a 12-14 in tops, such a pain as I cannot buy clothes!! :'(
-
One thing I wished for but they just got firmer and perkier ;D
We're the same size although I am 5ft so a tiny bit taller than you
-
:D :D :D
Bet your DH doesn't complain!? ;D
-
He wouldn't dare;D
-
LOL :D
-
well I wish I was a 6-8 in the waist....... wishfull thinking, dream on.. :) :)
-
Me too! At least I can say I'm a size 7-8 .....
(only in shoe size!!!)
:D :D
-
LOL!!! ;D
-
;D
-
Funny k2
-
Totally random, but I just thought...
Who is 'Larry' as in happy as Larry?
Or 'Bob' as in Bob's your uncle?
-
I'm glad you changed the subject astarra :-)) ;D
The phrase "as happy as Larry" is thought to either be derived from the term "larrikin", meaning a hooligan, or made after a boxer called Larry Foley won 1000 pounds in the final fight of his career, and was therefore very happy ;)
Bob's your uncle is still a mystery :)
-
Bob's your uncle is still a mystery :)
I grew up with that saying . . ;D ;D
Try here for some kind of explanation of the origin . .http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-bob1.htm
-
So did I GF, but I actually did have an uncle called Bob...... ;D
-
Bob :D :D :D
-
Didn't you like our chat Amy ;D ?
Maybe Bob's your uncle because back in the day Bob was a popular name and oh he's actually my brother ;D
-
I loved the chat Suzanne, it was very... eye-opening ;D
"Bob's your brother" doesn't quite have the same ring to it... ;D
-
No but that's what mum used to say and if i say Bob's your uncle to my kid's they say we know ::)
-
LOL ;D
I feel sorry for uncles who aren't called Bob, they must feel left out :-))
-
What I'd really like to know is how the saying "how's your father" came into being . . . ie. . .
it's a bit how's your father . ." , , , meaning it's ok but not too good . . .! ;D
-
I've never heard that one GF :-))
-
Me neither, must be something you say in the Eastern States :D
-
Sounds an interesting one, GF. :)
-
Bob's my father in law.... doesn't quite have the right ring does it?
I am blown away by this thread, guess I have used up all my killer genes.
-
hello Fruity :)
-
How is your toe fruity? ;)
-
How is your toe fruity? ;)
And DS ankle? :)
-
Got a new one ......
A frozen lobster will come alive when thawed.
That's what I call an ice cream headache! ;D
-
:)
-
LOL Kimmy!
I wonder who has done that to a lobster? :-))
-
Not me. Couldn't even put one in boiling water.
-
But they taste really good when taken out of the boiling water :) :) :)
-
They sure do, yum my favorite seafood
-
I love a good marron ;D
-
lobster mornay :) :)
-
I can't like seafood - apart from fish! :-)) Does that even make sense????
-
Is it shellfish you can't eat astarra? Hope your starting to feel better, hows dd today?
-
But they taste really good when taken out of the boiling water :) :) :)
Sure do.
-
lalalalalalalalalalalal Hello Fruity
-
Hello Obbie! :D
-
Hello astarra and Obbie! :D
-
Hello Amy. :D :D
-
Hello Amy, Astarra
-
Hello today Obbie! :D
-
Donald Duck comics were banned in Finland because he doesn't wear pants :o ;D
Afternoon astarra :D
-
Katie, your picture is all over my iPad, first time that this has happened to me although I know others have experienced it before.
-
LOL Amy - and afternoon! :D
Speaking of Disney characters...did you know Mickey Mouse's 'birthday' is on 18th November?
-
Since this seems to have become the trivia thread. Does anyone know the name of the Skipper or the Professor on Gilligan's Island?
-
Bob Denver
-
LOL Amy - and afternoon! :D
Speaking of Disney characters...did you know Mickey Mouse's 'birthday' is on 18th November?
Really?!?! :D :D :D
Since this seems to have become the trivia thread. Does anyone know the name of the Skipper or the Professor on Gilligan's Island?
Was that a movie? ???
-
Amy it was a tv series very popular back in the day
-
Alan Hale, Jr played Jonas "The Skipper" Grumby
and the professor Roy Hinkley was played by Russell johnson ;D
-
Goldfish that wasn't the tv series though was it?
-
It was a tv series about 7 people shipwrecked on an island and their attempts to get rescued.
It ran from 1964-1967 and was then repeated for many, many years.
Yvette, Bob Denver played Gilligan (who never had a first name). The characters of "The Skipper' and The Professor" actually had names though they were only ever mentioned once (when they are rescued) in the series.
The Skipper's name was Jonas Grumby and the Professor's Roy Hinkley. The professor wa actually a high school science teacher not a university professor.
Well done GF. ;D You Googled it didn't you? ;)
-
Of course I did DD ;D ;D . . . remember watching it back then but apart from Gilligan and perhaps Ginger I couldn't tell you offhand any other details. It's still being replayed to death now I believe on cable tv . . . reruns of reruns of reruns of . . . . ;D
-
TV series, I am showing my age now, remember it well.
-
Thats why I don't know it ;D
-
Oh, oh, I have a thread killer, though that would possibly cause my wife to kill me.
She will likely be having a D&C tomorrow *sigh*
-
Thats why I don't know it ;D
I may not have really seen it but even I know Gilligans Island, and I'm only a wee whipper snapper.
-
Hey Rob. I hope everything goes well for your wife tomorrow.
I am too young to really remember Gilligan's Island while the series was still in production but saw it plenty in re-runs.
-
Best wishes to your wife, Tarasis - hope everything goes well . .
-
Hope all goes well for your wife Rob. :)
-
Hope all goes well for your wife rob..i had to google d&c... Poor dw :(
-
Oh no Rob, is she OK?? :(
I have had 3 of them. :'(
Sending positive vibes to your DW. :)
-
Best wishes to your wife Rob, it sounds horrible :(
Don't worry Frozzie, I had to ask Mr Google too :-))
-
I had 2 of them but in the end had to have a hysterectomy - best thing that ever happened and should have been done 10 years before! Hope the procedure works for your DW DD.
-
Thanks guys, I will pass on your thoughts,
it's one of those things they do that sometimes your better off not knowing the details of. It's not the first miscarriage but it is the first time this has had to be done, were both hoping that the bleeding will have stopped enough that they decide its not needed in the end. I won't be there with her as I need to take kiddies to football training, they are blissfully unaware.
The part that bugs me a little, is that my DW is talking to some people about it (pregnancy & miscarriage ) and I'm not really allowed to and about the one or two people I would tell I'm explictly forbidden from telling due to various things going on in their own lives. Hence my more oblique reference here, I figured someone among all of you might twig :)
-
Sorry to hear about your DW Rob hope all goes well :)
-
Oh Rob - I am so sorry for your loss. :'(
All my 3 were after losses too. It is not easy. She will heal so much quicker after tho. I hope all goes well, glad your kids are unaware. :)
-
And how are you coping with it all yourself, Rob?
-
Rob, it a hard thing to go through, for you and your wife.
I have been there, and coped because I did talk about it, Alot...
sending hugs to you both. :-*
-
thoughts your way Rob xx
-
Sorry to hear about the reason for the D & C Rob, you can't be in 2 places at once so I'm sure your DW is happy you are keeping the children occupied. They certainly don't need to know these things. Love to you both :-* :-*
-
My thoughts are with you and your wife rob. All the best and sending big hugs xox
-
We have never had to go through such a loss Rob so I can't say I know how you are feeling. Sometimes people forget that the father also feels the loss of a miscarriage, not the same way that the mother does but they feel it all the same.
We are here if you need to get things off your chest.
-
how true dd, my DH talked a lot about our loss and it helped us both immensely
-
I just told DH about your situation, Rob, he sends his thoughts. :)
-
Thoughts are with you and your DW Rob, take care
Marie
-
Rob, I'm sorry to hear about the miscarriage. It must be a very sad and emotional time for both of you. Take care
-
Like Den I have not had to go through this. Do take care of yourself as we'll, my thoughts are with you both.
-
Hi Rob, so sorry to hear this news. I have never personally gone through it, but professionally as a midwife I been part of pregnancy and birth loss . I think talking it through is certainly the best way to help ease the pain rather than keeping it bottled up. thoughts are with you.
-
Um, wow. Thanks everyone. I'll update properly a little later once the kids are in bed. They haven't done anything today but they are keeping my DW in over night (wouldn't even let her home to pick up stuff, so I was running around a bit) and doing two different exams tomorrow (scrapping the womb and checking the filopian tubes (spelling error) with a cam via the belly button. She'll be having a general anesthetic for it. It may be an ectopic pregnancy, oddly enough her hormones are actually up for the Doc visit last week.
Back later.
-
Oh rob i,didnt realise it was because of a miscarriage.. How very sad.. I was lucky i guess you could say to have never beenthrough something like that so cant say i know how you feel but can only imagine.. unfortunately you hear so many do.. We are all ears if u need to get things off your chest.. Hugs x
-
My thoughts are with both you and your wife. You certainly have been doing a lot of running around. Make sure you take some time for yourself otherwise you might get to the point that you 'hit a wall' which won't be good for you, your wife or your kids.
Take care Rob.
-
Rob, I am sorry to hear this.
I have had the miscarriage but I dont think I have had a D&C.
Its all a blur, years of ivf & my insides being cleaned out many times, dyes put though me & lots of vaginal u/s & egg collections.
None of it fun at all.
CP came from a harvest of 28 eggs, he was our 4th attempt, fresh embryos put back, 3 of them. We froze the rest of his batch, got nothing, then did several more ivfs, miscarriage & finally stopped.
TMI ???
-
It,always makes me sad to hear of people having trouble having kids..such alot to go through but worth it when it all works out... Iam very grateful I didnt have any problems having my kids.. Hugs to those of you who have been through so much..
-
Frozzie, cp was worth every bit.
Sad that we couldnt give him a sibling, but at least we can foster :)
-
Im certain he is H and sometimes life is hard to understand.. Who knows why no siblings maybe it was to do what you now do for friends and foster kids..saying that im sure you could, handle anything if you had more children or not.. Who knows and what a lovely life cp has... And how lucky he is to have u and u him..
-
Hope you and DW are ok today Rob. Thinking of you lots, with very deep understanding. :'(
-
Rob, I hope all is going well for your wife today :-*

Hally that is so sad and so unfair :( I'm really glad you have cp. He is a very special boy :)
-
I don't come in this thread very much but have just caught up with a few pages.
Sending support and healing vibes to you all Rob, so sorry to read this.
We are hear for you anytime.
Hope your wife soon recovers and that you can help each other through this.
Sorry Hally with what you've been through. Glad you have CP.
-
Yes cp is special, he is CROWN PRINCE CHARMING ;D
He actually was given a crown at school this week for passing all his times tables & multiple tables :D
Took us a while to coe to terms with it, but at least we can bring happiness to other children.
:)
-
Well done to cp for passing his times tables! :D I was still struggling with them when I was his age :-))
Hally, I think you are amazing and inspirational :-*
-
Thank you Ames :-*
-
Rob take care, and especially your DW too.
:)
My DH said it helped to talk about this too..
-
Rob I hope both you and your wife are doing as well as can be expected. We lost our first baby at almost 20wks in Hawaii whilst on a holiday. 7 years later we returned to Hawaii where we had a little remembrance ceremony. In this time we had three healthy babies and a 7wk loss.
Dads do mourn that loss as well so share with your closest friends as well as your wife. Maybe something like planting a special tree or like we do a little ceremony (we float flowers off the pier in Waikiki each visit).
-
Kyton, totally agree. :)
Dads do feel it too.
I still get teary, thing of our loss 10 years ago.
-
How are you and your DW Rob?
-
Hello anyone...... ;D

-
Absolutely flown - just seems like yesterday we were at our last family New years day do, now we are organising this one! :o

-
Maybe we should start organising the next Christmas and New Year celebrations on the 2nd of January lol :-)) That way we have plenty of time!
I'm okay thanks astarra. Still a bit sad, I know it will take a while to accept that she's really gone. Maybe when we get her ashes we will be happier knowing that she is back with us :)
-
Take care. :-*
-
Thank you :-*

I am pleased to hear that you are having her cremated Amy. We did that with our last 2 pets. When our dog died we were living in a rental and had our house on the market. DD2 didn't want to leave him buried at a house with out us. She has him now in a little wooden box with a name plate and his photo.
DD1 had the cat's ashes returned to her in a small plastic box with a little headstone she is buried in DD1's garden in her new unit.
In a past life I was a monumental mason and I have trying to think how I could make a headstone for Sophie for you. Now that I know you are having her cremated I won't worry because I don't really have the tools or materials that I need anymore.
-
Were you seriously a monumental mason Den? I can't imagine you doing that :o
We had Murphy, our last dog, cremated as well, but my first dog, Floyd, is buried in the back yard. I understand why your DD didn't want to bury your dog, because I know that when I leave home and when mum and SD move, we will be leaving Floyd behind :( Mum told me that he would want to stay here, but I don't think he would if we weren't here with him.
-
I wish DD1 would bury our last dogs ashes. She's had them up in her bedroom for years.
-
Yes I was really a monumental mason Amy, or as my girls used to say when they were little I made signs for dead people.
-
Hi Cream Puff ;)
Amazing what talents we all have hidden...
-
Yes I was really a monumental mason Amy, or as my girls used to say when they were little I made signs for dead people.
LOL ;D ;D ;D
-
Yes I was really a monumental mason Amy, or as my girls used to say when they were little I made signs for dead people.
LOL - reminds me of when miss 6 was about 4 we were at the graveyard (at a friend's burial) and she started looking at all the headstones, we asked her what she was doing...she said "looking for my name." We said "Your name won't be here, you are still alive, thankfully." thinking ??? She said "well then how will you know where to bury me when I die then?" :o :D
-
LOL ;D
Sorry astarra, but that is soooo funny :D Your daughter is such a cutie! :-*
-
She certainly is, it sounds like you have many laughs in your house astarra.
-
hello
-
hello Robyn
too cute astarra
-
She certainly is, it sounds like you have many laughs in your house astarra.
We sure do have alot of laughs - the hardest part is not laughing at them when they can see (tho sometimes it is impossible not to!) :D
-
Hello all
-
hello Robyn, cooking lots today?
-
Hi Robyn.....only three more sleeps :D
-
I read a statistic that says 98% of Australian households now recycle and reuse! How great is that?! :D
-
Awesome. The 2% need to get with the program.
-
lots of cooking again today, camera is charging up, so I can take photos.
-
hi
-
HI fruity
-
Hi fruity - have been thinking of you. How's the situation with your toe?
-
There is some good news on the horizon, it appears that there is not a staph infection in the bone YAY! but I have regional pain syndrome, which is quite difficult to treat. here is some info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_regional_pain_syndrome. Thank you for thinking of me
-
My gosh, fruity!! I've never heard of it! I certainly hope the drs can do something asap for you . . . . please let's know how you're getting on with it all . . . . .
-
Hey fruity, hope you toe is better. great thread for your toe.... :)
-
Glad to hear it is not Staph, Fruity. Hope the docs find a way to treat your RPS.
Take care... :-*
-
Yup, hope they can help you Fruity.
Have you tried a tens machine?
Just read the link and I am very sorry, it sounds so awful.
-
Diagnosis at last, now let's hope they can do something positive for you Fruity - it sounds terrible but you have never complained and you have had every right to. :-* :-*
-
That sounds nasty fruity :(
I hope you can get some relief soon :-*
-
Fruity, glad that you now know what it is, but the diagnosis sounds awful. hope you get some relief soon.
-
That sounds awful fruity but at least you know what you are dealing with now. Take care and hope the drs can help you xox
-
Keep smiling Fruity
-
I didn't feel this topic deserved its own thread, so, sticking it here to keep it alive.
I am from Aus and currently holidaying in NZ, so far have been to Auckland and Wellington. In both places I have noticed that the bacon has a slight smoked fish flavour to it. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know why?
-
No, its not supposed to be fishy... ???
-
Never noticed it...????
-
Me neither.
-
How is the toe fruity
-
Fruity - how have you been? have they managed to give you any relief yet?
-
No relief, still very swollen, painful and funny coloured, but getting on with life now, a 5km walk under my belt last night. The medication suggested was a mood depressant, which I flatly refused.
-

What in heavens name are these people thinking?? a mood depressant is going to fix your foot?!?!?
I take my hat off to you for that walk, Fruity . . .couldn't have been easy . . .
-
ouch
-
Hope you are getting some relief fruity. :-\
Hugs :-*
-
Jeez fruity, I reckon you could write a series of books about the journey of your toe...
Thinking of you, hoping for something good to happen soon! :-*

the side effect of the mood depressant is that is suppresses the reception from the nerves as well, so it will work to lessen the pain, but............ as I am already in a whole word of pain, and pain is a mood depressor, it can't be a good mix.
-
Just as well you have more common sense than some of those doctors . . . have they suggested anything else?
-
I think maybe it was an anti-depressant the doctor might have suggested as they do have a positive effect on pain problems like fruity's (not due to them being anti-depressants, a separate effect on how nerves 'talk' to the brain). They often work a lot better than pain killers in this situation.
-
That's very interesting to know why the drs would prescribe antidepressants in a case like this, Bonsai. I've seen some very sad cases involving reactions / side effects to anti depressants so i must admit I'm somewhat anti.
-
They can work really well for some people and aren't always used at the same doses as they would be for depression. They're used less often now due to the increasing popularity of medicines in the anti-epileptic family which also have a good effect on nerve pain. Unfortunately they're really expensive in Australia which is why anti-depressants are still used.
-
Yes I've been prescribed both anti-epileptic drugs and anti-depressants for back pain - sometimes successful! Worth a try when pain is constant I think.
Dublin Girl
-
My brother was given anit depressants for pain and they helped him no end. Very useful. Thanks for the explanation Bonsai. ;)
-
the one suggested was actually a mood DEPRESSANT, not an anti depressant as it dampens down the signals from the nerves ( and the brain is a big bunch of nerves).
There is another that is an anti depressant but not as effective in this case.
Again I am reluctant to take either anti depressants or depressants. I guess I will just continue to grin and bear it .
-
Hope you are ok, furity. :-*
-
At least you can still grin Fruity ;D
Hoping it gets better soon. And I hope your family stops having accidents!!
-

I take it you saw the FB status about Miss A?
-
I did Fruity. The poor girl. I hope she's recovering quickly :-*
-
hello :D
-
She is pretty upbeat but you can tell she is not right, struggling to get any decent sleep as she wakes when she rolls over, we have to be super careful when we pick her up, the car seat belt hurts etc etc etc, but she is still smiling... just saying ouch (or oooottts as she says) a lot
-
She sounds like a brave little thing Fruity :D
How long do you expect it will take to heal?
-
Can those of us not on FB know about little Miss? Hope she is OK???
-
I believe she broke her collarbone astarra :'(
-
Yep Amy is right, my 22 month old (barely 10kg) little monkey princess fell off the seat of a picnic table (I was sitting with her, she was standing next to me) took a step sideways, fell and landed on her shoulder head neck, and broke her collar bone, it is quite an angular break but the bones are still aligned.
It will be very very very sore for 7 - 10 days, and then take about a month to heal after that. She is too little to have it in a sling of any kind, so it is just sort of hanging there.
-
:o :o Oh no. The poor little thing...and poor you. :'( That must have been so terrible to witness.
Sending hugs. :-*
-
Fruity,, I'm really sorry to hear about your little one. That must be pretty hard for her to cope with . Hope the healing is as rapid as possible...
-
Oh that is terrible fruity. Hope she mends quickly.
-
Poor little thing, being so young it must be terribly hard for you all. Hugs (gentle ones) for her. I cannot believe the luck your family has fruity - gee whiz it has to change sooner or later doesn't it :'(
-
Sorry to hear about your daughters fall Fruity.
-
You are having your share of trouble fruity. I hope everything starts looking up soon.
-
Oh no Fruity, so hard when kids aren't well. Hope she is better soon 😌
-
Sorry to hear about your DD's accident, hope recovery is as quick as can be for her. :-*
-
Sorry to hear about your little one, hope she heals well :)
-
Fruity hope she is ok.
-
Kids are super resilient aren't they? She is still carrying it somewhat, but is starting to use it in limited movements, there is a huge huge huge lump on her collar bone though.
It appears my kids are accident prone, and have had several friends say the same, but they are very active healthy kids and accidents do happen when they are out doing things rather than watching tv / playing electronic games etc.
All in all I count my family as being very blessed as while we have had our share of accidents there has been nothing major, no major illness etc etc
-
Thats a positive way of thinking fruity :D
-
Sorry to read this Fruity about your DD.
We are an accident prone family too and emphasise hugely.
Glad she is on the mend.
Take care all of you, you all deserve a change of fortune this year.
-
I think you are right fruity. It's great that your kids are active, and its all part of the learning process of what you can and cannot do. I think she will assess her surroundings more when she decides to leap ;) good things about bones mending is they knit stronger. Not a good thing to wrap kids in cotton wool otherwise they don't think they can break.
-
good that they are up and about, instead of just in front of the tv.
its bound to happen with kids..
-
lalalalalallalalalalallalalaa

So true. I hope she's improving. You probably felt worse than she did fruity.
-
anyone happy
-
yes happy DS is coming home tonight
yes happy that all the kids will be around and we can have a big nosh up together, first one since about June last year
yes happy that there'll be no more early morning wake up calls on EST saying that he's looking forward to coming home and what have I planned to cook and do whilst he's here (my brain does not function at 5am in the morning so I told him baked beans on toast and he said he'd call back later ;D)
-
LOL CP ;D ;D
-
Love it CP

-
Enjoy your family unit again CP, maybe he won't want to go back once he has Mum's food in his tummy again.
-
He has just been promoted, so when he goes back he's moving to Sydney so I think he will be looking forward to that also. Has got someone to take over his lease in Melbourne and has a lovely apartment to move into with a friend.
-
Congratulations to your DS CP, it didn't take him long to get that promotion. Looks like some nice trips to Sydney in the future for you and a subsequent meet up with some Sydney girls at the same time.
-
Congrats to your son CP. Lucky he is coming to the best State :D :D
-
Found out last night it wasn't a promotion, same position different city. Oh well, promotion next time :-))
-
still good news CP
-
Luck he is still coming to the best state :D :D
-

-
Brenda, still waiting to hear about the job :-\ I don't know if its good or bad that its taking this long...
Suzanne, I hope you have saved your phone ;D One of my brother's teachers dropped his phone in the toilet and managed to save it ;D
I'm so nervous about this test, thanks for the good luck girls :D
-
Amy I have been listening to DS4 singing and talking and singing and talking some more. No need for radio/cd ;D
-
LOL Kimmy, I have heard that kids are good entertainment value ;D
After Dire Straits I was listening to Pink Floyd :D
-
I saved my phone so far it's working perfectly
-
That's great Suzanne ;D
I once pushed DS into the pool and he had his phone in shirt pocket. :o
He was not impressed when he emerged from the water with his phone in his hand.
It was well and truly stuffed ;)
-
Well done Suzanne ;D
MF..... hehehehehehe :-)) :D
-
I'm always telling dh if he pushes me in the pool it will be an $800 joke, but so glad the rice worked they must make them pretty good now a days
-
lalalalalalalallla must remember the rice trick.
i need to buy DH a new phone.
-
What do you do with rice Suzanne? ???
-
You put your phone in it Amy to absorb moisture if you have dropped it in water
-
Oh thats clever ;D Thanks Yvette ;)

Does the rice trick work if you put the phone thru the washing machine? :-[

-
Thought it time I posted on here again. :)
-
Hello all.
Hope fruity is ok.....
-
Been saving this one for this thread.
Did you know that it takes more calories to eat celery than it has to begin with? ;)
-
I had heard that rumour Kimmy... but I like my celery with peanut butter, so it doesn't work for me! ;D
-
Really Amy, that sounds yucky ;D
-
It's actually yummy, Kimmy. I haven't had it for years, but mum used to make it for birthday parties
-
Well I will just take your word for it ES. Don't like celery unless it is chopped finely and cooked well. Hate it in Chinese takeaway too.
-
Kimmy! :o I can't believe you've never had celery and peanut butter! Its a classic ;D
I don't eat celery any other way. Either peanut butter or not at all ;)
-
I have honestly never heard of peanut butter and celery either Amy. Not a big celery fan and don't like peanut butter either so I am not missing much. I use celery in casseroles and soups but its cooked down and not visible. Is it an Aussie thing? Maybe as I grew up in UK that's why I don't know about it ;)
-
Love celery with peanut butter. It's nice with cottage cheese too. :D
-
I love celery sticks with pâté. When we were little, my sister and I used to make celery pâté sticks and 'sell' them to our parents for 10 cents per serve ;D
-
Oh ants on logs .. Used to have that alot when i was little.. A celery stick with peanut butter in and sultanas sitting along the peanut butter like ants.. Used to be the only way we would eat. Celery lol!
-

I'm not sure if its an Aussie thing... I think Aussies would have used vegemite if they invented it ;D You're not missing much MF, but if you didn't have fairy bread as a kid then I would be worried :D
Love celery with peanut butter. It's nice with cottage cheese too. :D
I've never tried it with cottage cheese Mich, but I have it and celery in the fridge :D

Love it MEP :D :D
-
Yum fairy bread :)
-
Never heard of celery & peanut butter either - the things I missed out on when I was a kid ;D
-
celery and peanut butter, yes we have that.
Fairy bread is normal here too.
Celery with cottage cheese and vegemite too.
-
celery and peanut butter or fairy bread haven't had them in years.
When we were kids we use to sprinkle sugar on lettuce roll it up and eat it.
-
Lettuce and sugar... haven't heard of that one before Jenny!
Robyn, I knew there would be someone who had celery with vegemite ;D
-
I make my Daughter fairy bread sandwiches, to take to school.
-
We love fairy bread, and as kids also use to eat the sugar rolled in lettuce leaves. DH eats celery and peanut butter but I hate the taste of raw celery and only use it in cooking where it is cooked down and sweetened.
-
Mum also used to make us apple and sultana sandwiches when we were kids.
-
Fairy bread was a staple at every birthday party when I was little. Loved it. Tried it recently and it is sooo sweet. Like eating coloured sugar. Oh how my taste buds have changed in a few decades ;D
-
Peanut butter and banana is yummy too. :D
-
So is peanut butter and chocolate... OR peanut butter, chocolate AND banana!! What a combo :D :D :D
Fairy bread was a staple at every birthday party when I was little. Loved it. Tried it recently and it is sooo sweet. Like eating coloured sugar. Oh how my taste buds have changed in a few decades ;D
What is it about childhood that makes coloured sugar on white bread so appealing ;D
-
So is peanut butter and chocolate
Drool :D :D
-
Peanut butter and celery, very nice. I have never liked fairy bread, too crunchy for me. Nor sugar on lettuce although I know others who loved it. Mum wouldn't have peanut butter in the house she disliked it so much so I think I was in my 30's before I tasted it, I love it but do try to stay away from it.
-
So is peanut butter and chocolate
Drool :D :D
Reese's Peanut Butter cups......double drool :-)) ;D ;D
-

Drool :D :D
More drooling ;D
-
Sounds like I need to buy some people some bibs :D :D

-
Good to hear from you Fruity :)

Good luck at the specialist Fruity :-* I'm surprised they haven't chopped the toe off yet :-\
-
Helloo Fruity
-

-
What's wrong with your back, Obbie?
-
Its been out for 2 months, I had it put back in on Thursday by a osteopath.
Neck feels sore still today.
-
I hope it gets better soon.
-
Ouch! Hopefully you're now on the improve Obbie.
-

just wish I could massage myself too.
-
I know Robyn, I can only work on myself in certain places.
Currently given up and having physio to release spasm.
Hope toe news is good Fruity.

I have another massage to do this weekend on a friend, my back now feels great..

-
I saw it on QI ;D
-
Amy, I can only see one. Where is the other one hiding? Or us he on holidays?
-
Its very small and far away Kimmy.... thats why not many people know about it ;)
Fun Fact!
Happy dogs wag their tails to the right. Sad dogs wag their tails to the left.
-
What does it mean if dogs don't wag their tails? ;D
-
what if it wags all over the place?;D;D
-
Ummm... I don't have answers to either of those questions :-)) ;D ;D
-
:D:D:D never mind thought I'd ask you were on a roll;D;D
-
Sorry Suzanne :(
I have another Fun Fact though! ;D
Polar bears are all descended from a common Irish ancestor ;)
-
really who would of thought :D
-
:D:D:D never mind thought I'd ask you were on a roll;D;D
Me too!
Like the polar bear info.
-
Happy dogs wag their tails to the right. Sad dogs wag their tails to the left.
So does that mean dogs that wag their tails from side to side are bipolar? ;D
-
I don't know about the Irish ancestor but did you know that polar bears have black skin and clear fur. Their white colour comes from reflected light. The clear fur lets the sun through to heat up their black skin and then traps the heat in. :)

😄😄😄
Very clever Den
And what about dogs with no tails?
-

Yeah! ;D ;D ;D

good idea Amy I love fun facts here's one:
koalas fingerprints are virtually indistinguishable from those of humans ;D
-
That's a good one Suzanne, I like it ;D ;D
Bats always turn left when leaving a cave :D
-
really I wonder why?
-
Maybe the sleep with their right wing over the top of their left, so when they wake up and fly out of their cave their left wing is sort of asleep and it droops and makes them veer left...
;D ;D ;D

-
Hi Fruity, ;D
-
Time for another FUN FACT!
Humpback whales make the loudest sound of any living creature :D
I love whales, they're so cute, but I don't think I would want one as a pet :-))
-
Is that why a loud cry is called a wail Amy?? ;D
-
good one Amy;D;D
did you know in England the speaker of the house is not allowed to speak ::)
-
Suzanne, that's just funny :D
Is that why a loud cry is called a wail Amy?? ;D
ROFL!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
This is crazy ;D
-
do you know snails have teeth, I always wondered how they used to eat mums lettuce in the garden
-
I never though about it but that makes sense.
Did you know that the Australian common garden variety snail is perfect for escargot? Just send the kids out collecting snails with an ice cream container place them in container with wheat bran for a few days to flush out their digestive system and they are ready to cook. :P
-
eeww dd that's gross ;D
-
I need to train Paddy not to eat the garden snails then ;D
-
hi all, thank you for the lovely warm bat snail whale welcomes back
-
good one Amy;D;D
did you know in England the speaker of the house is not allowed to speak ::)
Actually that is not quite right, they can't take part in active debate but keep the debates moving in an orderly fashion.

Very true. But I will not be eating them.
-
Me neither
-
Hummingbirds are the only animal that can also fly backwards :D
-
bats are the only mammals that can fly
;D;D
-
So are you saying pigs don't fly Suzanne? :o
-
just going by my libra tidbits dj, thanks for the clarification ;D;D
-
sorry Amy but pigs can't fly;D;D;D
-
Awww :'( :'( :'(
Love those libra tidbits Suzanne ;D ;D
-
I once set a homework task for my Year One students where they had to share a fact about the sea with the class. One of my students shared a fact that I'd heard before but couldn't quite remember where... Later that afternoon I was reminded of that same fact by my friend Libra, I had a bit of a chuckle (& shared it in the staffroom).
I'm now working with university students and that for me thinking about how one might reference that source....
-
I once set homework
...on fire? ;D

Morning Suzanne.

Here's a fun (and handy) food fact!
If you are only going to use half a capsicum, cut it widthways and use the bottom half. The stem in the top half will keep it fresh for 3-4 times as long!
:D
-
So just like us, capsicums age from the bottom up!
-
I didn't realise we aged bottom-first Kimmy ???
What about grey hair? And wrinkles? They usually start around the face and hands. My feet only go wrinkly when I'm in the swimming pool too long.

Hi Robyn ;)
A foodie tip I just learnt.....
To seperate the fat from the meat juices without alot of dishes, pour it all into a plastic bag, cut the bottom corner off and watch it flow out, stopping just before the fat starts coming out. Chuck the fat and bag out...viola! Fat free meat juices! :D
-
Love that tip Astarra. Love anything that makes less washing up!
-
Great tip Astarra.
I did the ice cubes in my casserole on the weekend. all the fat just stuck to the ice cubes.. ;D
-
yeah I have done the ice-cube way for years, til discovering this trick, love it!!! :D
-
Never heard of the ice cube trick before interesting.
-
don't worry jen I only learnt about it a few weeks ago from here ::)
-
I didn't realise we aged bottom-first Kimmy ???

It really is true amy, starting from the feet up, not the bottom.
Great tip Astarra thank you :)

-
:D If only you knew Robyn - behind the scenes, a lot goes on here on the forum.
So very true. I admit to getting a pleasure from trying to beat some of them. But then they probably change their names, so they win. :'( :'(
My comment came from 6 or 8 or similar in a row of the same person. Didn't mean to stir things up.
-
wish they would go away, and do something else.
thankyou Cookie, JudyDawn, CC for looking after us.
-
yes spammers are the worst they have literally shut down another forum I was on the poor mods were beaten and they tried so hard >:(
-
That's terrible Suzanne.
-
yeah its sad I had been a member for 5 years and we used to share so much support, friendship and all the trial and tribulations of parenting it once was a wonderful place
-
yes spammers are the worst they have literally shut down another forum I was on the poor mods were beaten and they tried so hard >:(
That is horrid. I wopuld do my best to stop anything like that.
-
Helloo Fruity
-
hello :)
-
Taxation dept rang up today as someone had put a tax claim in the name of our DD. Now she has to prove her identity before she can get her tax check. Apparently happens all the time.
-
Oh No Creampuff, they will steal identities any way they can.
-
That's terrible CP. Same thing happened to my neighbour last year.
-
That's really crook. Could it be possible that the ATO has stuffed up with similar name/tax number. Wouldn't put it past them and try to shift the blame. It happened to me when I changed names. The ATO was at fault and tried to blame it on the accountant.
-
That's bad CP hope it all gets sorted :)
-
CP how awful for her.
-
I had a nasty letter from a debt collection agency saying i was in arrears with the ATO for $7500.0. When i queried they said there was an error!!
Hope its not too difficult for your DD to sort it out.
-
Oh cp hope its an error and not identity theft.. Hard to get through it i hear :(
-
Hello.
Hope you get it sorted out, Cream puff
