Hi
I have had my thermomix for a month & yesterday I noticed that when I use speed 1 or 2 it starts making a sqeaking sound, there was only water in the bowl as I was using the varoma I pulled the bowl apart & gave it a good clean but later that night when I was again using the varoma for dinner it started again. I tried it this morning with nothing in the bowl & on speed 1 & 2 it makes this sound when I turn it to 3 it stops. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem? I am going to contact my consultant today, but the thought of having to be without my thermie is just too much :(

This (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2904.0) thread may be of some interest to you maxxie.
I get different noises at different speeds but don't take much notice of it anymore. As long as it is working OK, I'm happy.

Thanks JD, I have spoken to my consultant & she is going to look into it for me. I think I might try a bit of oil like suggested & see if that works.

Mine is doing the same thing! I have only noticed it since it came back from HO (the white cover/casing had fine cracks in it. It was replaced with no problems as it is still under warranty). I haven't rung up about the squeaks yet, as I don't want to be without my TMX for a few days again. If we put the oil in where suggested, does this void the warranty or anything???
-
I shouldn't void your warranty virgo9 as from memory this came down from head office ;)

Anyone solved this one I have had my TM since May and now it squeaks on speed 2/3 as described by others.
When something squeaks it means there is a problem. On other machines it suggests a bearing or lubrication issue.
I am going to contact HO tomorrow.

I've had squeaks in the past but haven't noticed any for a while now - have never oiled mine.
-
Mine used to make a sort of squeak on speed 4 but it stopped.
-
OK HO have agreed to replace the blade unit. When the unit is not in the TM and you rotate it by hand it can be heard squeaking. This does certainly suggest a bearing issue.
-
Scarey. Wise to have it replaced before it presents a problem.

Same issue discussed here:
