I like the design of the purple, not too sure unlike the boldness of the purple though - I think it would date too quickly. I like a floating bench in the middle of the kitchen, too. I'll take a photo of my kitchen soon, and you'll see why I'm so particular. It's more of a kitchenette - its really just a small bench with a stove, oven, sink and a few cupboards. My old kitchen in the house I owned a few years ago was magnificent, though - huge with lots of space and cupboards. I miss that house...

Years ago I had a spectacular emerald green kitchen range and had an emerald green sink to go with it and the counter tops were white and gray with green grout with a white, gray and green blacksplash, with white and yellow cabinets with green ceramic door and drawer pulls.
I enjoyed it for a few years until my divorce (second husband) and as he wanted the house and I wanted my freedom, I left but when he sold the house a couple of years later he gave me the range. It has been in storage ever since because I never quite had a kitchen where it would work and when i remodeled this kitchen I need a commercial range.

I do have an old photo.
It had two ovens with a broiler in the middle, 8 burners and a center griddle.  Roper Town & Country. The drawers under the ovens were warming drawers.

I love that cooker Andie.  It was nice of XH to eventually give it to you but whatever are you going to do with it?

When the family were small we read a book called Lambdrover JIm.

As we had sheep and lambs, but no Land Rover, the kids called me Droverjess!

I have used it as an alias ever since.

When we first bought our house it had a very bright orange gas oven, I eventually replaced it with a stainless steel one, it never worked that great.  I was always told that eventually it would be a much wanted item ???

That's the company owned by the same people that re-enameled mine.  It was originally white and gray. There was a green option but it was a pale sage green and it was also offered in pink and gray which did not fit at all with my decor.
You can only see an edge in my photo but they also enameled a service cart in the same color that held my baking pans and the top was ready to receive hot roasting/baking pans and could be rolled to other areas in the kitchen.  I also had a stepstool/seat done in the same color and have that in my pantry.

Oh I love, love, love that oven. Green is my favourite colour.
Silly question, but what is a broiler oven? How does it differ from a regular gas oven? I've always wondered as a lot of American recipes broil meat, and I've never been quite sure what that means
