The Umami paste recipe was developed by Tenina Holder and is here  :)

I've made a few batches of this and freeze in ice cube trays.

I probably should put them in heaps of dishes but the only one I seem to put it in is my spaghetti bolognaise.  It helps make it super yummy!

It's super simple to make make you've sourced the dulse seaflakes.

I have a relation who does reviews at restaurants.  He sometimes  has dinner with us and if I have used the umami paste he loves the dish and says it has something he can't put his finger on !
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Anyone know if there is a UK equivalent of  Dulse sea vegetable, flakes?

You could try here . . don't forget to make sure that anyone having anything with dulse flakes etc in it is not allergic to shellfish as there apparently is the risk of minute traces  -

I have left the dulce out and I don't think it makes an enormous difference to the finished product. I've used a part of a sheet of nori as an alternative as well.
