Consistency - can't stomach it
« on: April 08, 2012, 04:03:47 am »
I just made a really yummy juice for hubby and I but I couldn't drink it because of the consistency.  How do you get it smooth.  I blitzed it for a while and whilst there were no lumps it was still really thick.

I added more water but it didn't change the thickness.

Do you strain off the bits leaving just the juice???

The first trick when making juice Chele is to use about a handful of ice with the fruit and vegetables, this makes them smooth by emulsifying the fibres. Secondly is to add more water. What sort of juice were you making?

The method I used is to chuck all my ingredients in with the ice but minus the water. Blitz on speed 9 for about 1 min then just add the water to the lid and let it run in through the MC hole mixing for about 30 seconds. That is 1 1/2 minutes in total.

Hope this helps. juices are great and all mine are smooth so I hope you preserver with it and get the consistency you want. Let us know how you go.
