I also like RTE blog, those drumsticks look delicious.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I had no intention of spending time in the kitchen today but I found a large tin of sliced apple in the pantry so ended up making an apple pie and some custard to go with it.  I also boiled up my bones from the last recipe I made, added some spring onions, cabbage, noodles and carrots which is all I had in the fridge and now have some soup for tea.

Pouring custard from thermomazing blog and apple pie filling from the Ardmona can of apples.  Added 1/2 cup dried cranberries, 1/2 cup almond meal (they used hazel meal), vanilla essence and 1/2 tsp cardamom & pistachio jaggery (my option).  Very nice filling.

Good idea to do the cooking Judy. It looks very nice. I don't think I would make it I'd I hopped in the Red Terror and left now. I haven't had an apple pie for a while. I love the additions you've made to it.

I've just got home from shopping and may try some cooking. I'm feeling quite a bit better now I haven't had any of the medication for just over 24 hours. I do hope it keeps up.

Judy, great creative cooking .
Tomorrow we are going to a cocktail party. There will be some really delicious food as these friends used to run a cafe with great food. I have been on a diet with great success. This could be my undoing but I have offered to make 3 dips so have made 2 that are low calorie and served with veggie sticks.
The one I haven't made before is from, Not Quite Nigella. It is basically carrot and low fat yoghurt, flavored with Carraway and Cumin seeds and garlic. It has one teaspoon of oil. Easily converted to TMX. Will see how it tastes in the morning.

A chance to get all dressed up Chookie.

I made some cheese from Tenina's vegetarian book. I will use it in a recipe tomorrow.

Enjoy the cocktail party Chookie, have a few drinks for me. I'm sure your dips will go down well.

Made the Rum and Rasin Banana cake.  Also tasted the 3 dips that I made for the party.  All set up well and developed flavor from night in fridge. Added more yoghurt and tahini to the eggplant dip, chopped some parsley and pistachios to dress the smoked salmon dip. The dieter dip of grated carrot and low fat Youghurt is very nice so will post recipe after I make it again. Perfect summer dip and it has turned cold here. ,!
Judy, I will save all the drinks for you, and Cookie I will do my best to get dressed up.

Yum, that soup looks lovely Judy.

The dips sound good too Chookie.

Just finished making the rhubarb curd - only two stalks left!

I have made bread in my old bread maker,  Yoghurt, Coriander Chilli paste (Indian cookbook), it's nice added to hommus, yoghurt , put on fish before steaming. Now in ice block tray for freezing.
I also made a healthy smoothie for lunch, not overly hungry today.

You have been busy Katj. No lunch?  I think you are saving up for tomorrow at Nikki's. I hope she has a never ending supply of cold water.

Yes Cookie, let's hope it is not too hot at Nikkis. Lucky Thermies don't generate heat like a stove or oven. Agree on the cold water supply, I may even take a bottle of water with me.

Cookie and Katj I am thinking of you going to the class tomorrow; it seems ages since I have been to one but the day hasn't been right. I am still coughing so wouldn't have gone tomorrow anyway and might not be able to go to my other function. Lets know what yummy things get cooked. I will have to buy the recipes when I go to the next one as they are always good. Hope to catch up with you girls very soon.
