Lovely photos. We're having Jo's Spicy chicken and vegie sausage rolls.

Maddie that looks great, what cut of beef did you use and did you coat it in the spice mix first and then just put in with the stock? We have pulled pork quite a bit which is huge hit here but have tried it for beef. I find shredding with two forks quick and no extra dishes to wash.

Maddy that looks Yumbo.

Tonight we had an entree & a main.

Field mushroom stuffed with sage & black pepper risotto, boccocini cheese, topped with cheddar & parmesan. it was devine ;D We ate before I could get a photo :(

Main, Lamb shank in beer & mustard, with risotto & peas. Very nice, just wanted a change from red wine or moroccan.

Your entree sounded very nice Halex, so simple too. Pity about the photo, would love to have seen it.

Normally I use 2 forks too,  but this was so much quicker, and a finer shred that I like...like the Mexican places. I did add smome of the juices into jug before shredding.
Often I just use a good amount of stewing steak, cut into large chunks, fat removed.  We do our own beef, and we just don't like it roasted, so it's all cut into steaks or casserole.
I mix around 100-150g of Sonans taco seasoning, with 4 cups beef stock, covering the beef, and cook on low for at least 10 hours, 12 hours if I do have a butt of beef.
I am interested to make it quicker in the pressure cooker, and see how it compares.

Tonight I made  chookies  sage & pepper risotto, and the rest of the family chose to have leftovers.

.........EAT CAKE!

Had 1/2 a roast chicken to do something with for tea tonight but a busy day meant I had no time to find something different.  Decided to steam some vegies in the steaming basket and heat the leftover chicken/gravy in a casserole dish in the varoma tray, adding some frozen peas/corn to the varoma tray towards the end of the cooking time.  Beautiful meal.  Someone was asking how to use the varoma for reheating things the other day and I cannot find that posting. Try this, it is so easy and tastes much better than being reheated in the microwave.

Halex, potatoes, carrots & cauliflower in steaming basket with 800mls boiling water, chicken and gravy in a casserole dish in the varoma bowl - steam varoma/speed 3 for 30 mins. Add varoma tray with frozen peas & corn for last 12 mins.
