I love cheddar cheese and jam. Another thing I was persuaded to try and love is rich fruit cake with a slice of cheese on top.

Thank you for the lamb fritter recipe johnro, I have been wanting to do something like that with left over lamb roast for ages now. It reminds me of my mums recipe for lamb fritters, but you need a mincer to do her recipe.
I will type it up just in case somebody may like to try it, they are delicious.. Well they were when I was a kid... Many moons ago.

Mince left over lamb roast
Grate a few potatoes
Add curry powder to your own liking
Mix in an egg and flour to make a mixture that will hold its shape when formed into fritters

Shallow fry until brown. The potato on the outside goes nice and crisp.

That is the only way I knew how to eat fruit cake until I was well into adult hood lol.

Always grew up with cheese and jam on toast (especially apricot for me lol) and have cravings every now and then for it still oh and of course you can't go past vegemite and cheese (though not promite, that just doesn't cut it!) I love corn thins, vegemite, avocado, pepper and cheese for lunch  :D

We always had cheese with our fruit too, apple and cheese is a fav with me, can't get my kids to eat it though lol. Makes a really filling, healthy snack.

I have been too tired to do much (DS 7 is missing my menu plans on the door!!) but DH has been fantastic and cooking meat and salads or veg for dinner most nights - bless him as he is up at 5am each morning for work. Am just about ready for some good meals for a change now so will have to menu plan and get the kids helping I think, though the 3 older ones generally aren't home until nearly dinner time  :-))

Thanks Johnro for the recipe for lamb fritters.

We had roast lamb last night so will either do the fritters or shepherds pie.

Here it is Jacqui.  You just go to the home page and type in Shrek Juice - you must be on the home page though.

Roast chicken and veg tonight, nothing to exciting. Off to pediatrician shortly with DS 14, then back to the hospital in the morning to have my cast changed. When the injected me with steroids around my tendon they put bandaids on because I was bleeding a little. The bandaids are under the cast and irritating my skin (nothing worse than an itch you can't scratch) so they have decided to change the cast. Can't wait to have a scratch lol :)

Leftover KFC (Chookie"s recipe) for us. Think we'll make it into Hot & Spicy Chicken burgers with double bacon for the die hard meat lovers in my house. At least I'll be able to get some salad into the burger.
