I like to cook the potatoes in the basket and then use my potato ricer... straight into the thermoserver, as that is the way we like to have our mash, serve with the steamed vegies on top and and then the meat. Serve and enjoy.

omelette with potatoes from full steam ahead p38 I've made this twice now and it is very nice I tweaked it slightly by sprinkling grated Parmesan cheese on top and served with a small salad as I made this for a lunch dish. If you add more eggs it will need to cook a further few minutes, cut the potatoes a bit larger so they don't turn to mush. The DGSS really loved this as did DH and I... 5/5

Hi All I haven't had much success with mince so far in the TMX and wondered if anyone had any suggestions to help. Have tried a spag bol sauce (followed technique in EDC) and taco mince. Used shop-bought mince (regular). Both times, the mince turned out very 'fine' in texture and not slightly 'chunky' as it looks in the EDC (and how it usually turns out on the stovetop). I made sure that I had the blades on reverse and soft speed, but think the TM has broken it up almost too well. Is this what others have found? What am I doing wrong and any suggestions on how to get the texture chunkier? Am determined to get it right in the TM!!

I have had great success with this recipe, but I always buy a piece of topside and mince that in the It only takes a few seconds, it's nice and fresh and you have premium grade mince... buy the topside when on special and freeze cut in to cubes before freezing and you are ready to make what ever dish you want eg spag bol, a curry or whatever.

I am overall very impressed with what it can do but obviously the price tag is what makes me (and most people ) think twice about it. I'm also interested to hear people's views on the Thermomix being a 'cop out' or taking the joy or 'craft' out of cooking. I feel the Thermomix will only facilitate me in making fabulous dishes in half the time, but love to hear of others experiences. Monipod
I too was impressed and thinking thrice about the cost... but have had my TMX since November and I have found that I use it everyday probably three or four times. I now make all sorts of things I wouldn't have contemplated before eg breakfast cereal from scratch. we love our fruity dreams, making my own spice mixes. TMX also does a great curry etc, etc,. I have found that the TMX has reduced my grocery bills and there is certainly a lot less wastage in my household. The TMX is certainly not a cop-out and hasn't taken any joy out of cooking. Welcome to the forum such a great resource for recipes and information. Hope that you will contribute some of your recipes too.

Hi all, have had my machine for 2 years and won't go on holidays without it, works even with the generator. Have enjoyed reading the forum and thought it was time to introduce myself. Still need to get more beef recipes going but otherwise I (& hubby) think it's the best since sliced bread.
Welcome shirley. Hope you enjoy this forum. I've really found it very useful, although I haven't contributed much so far... tooooo busy trying all the new recipes For more beef recipes I think the Indian cook book should be a great help, looking at the index, and I think that your own recipes can convert very easily it is just quantities that are a bit difficult. I'd like to ask you a question about the generator- what size is your generator? My DH and I travel off road a lot and I've been wondering if our generator is large enough to warrant me taking the TMX with us. We have a Honda 10i and we use it a fair bit when we are out-back, we use a Cobb but the versatility of the TMX makes me want to leave the Cobb behind and to take the TMX instead. Have fun on this Forum great recipes to collect, and lots of fun people.

Can I suggest that this great recipe be placed in Lunch box ideas... although not egg free at least it is nut free and therefore suitable for most schools

HI Cathy79, sounds like a great lunch recipe for the grandkids. Maybe you should place this in the breakfast competition... or do they have to be your very own recipes. Sounds like a Sunday morning brunch with friends type recipe. Will be trying this very soon.
