Chilli Jam

Name of Recipe: Chilli Jam
Number of People: Makes about 1/2 cup... so double, triple etc....
Ingredients:
6 long fresh red chillies
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup castor sugar
1 tsp salt
4 cloves garlic
2 tsp fish sauce

Preparation:
Trim the stems off the chillies

If you want a milder flavour remove the seeds.
If you want it even milder again, soak the chillies in hot water for 15 minutes and then drain.

Put all the ingredients in the TMX and process 10secs on speed 7.

Heat for 15mins at 100 degrees on speed 1. (keep an eye on it as you dont want Chilli paste). Time really just depends on juiciness of Chillies.

Pour into sterilized jar/s.

Thanks Alina - good hints about the heat in the chilli - and yes it gets 5 points for the book draw.

How is this jam served? - on bread or for something specific?
I found the recipe interesting and would love if someone could explain it to me!
Either way I will do tomorrow since I have plenty of Chillis to transform!  :)

Yes you can have it on bread.  It is very nice with cheese on toasted or grilled sandwiches.  It also nice served in a little bowl with cheese, fruit and crackers.  :)

I got no actual recipes when clicking on the recipe tab Thermomixer and I have retyped the URL as it wasn't working properly for me - it should now give you a list of ideas for using chilli jam.

isn't it wonderful how the recipes are rolling in for those dishes that you thought " one day I'll try to convert that to TMX lingo" and then next thing it is there ?

Also funny that I have just realised that 3 of the recipes that i have "created" are in TMX books already - just didn't think to look in the right place - really need a database of all TMX recipes.  :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
