Five Seed Loaf - very wet?
« on: August 24, 2009, 09:04:58 am »
Hi
I made the 5 seed loaf today, YUM.  But it was a very wet mix.  Should it be wet?
It was made at my demo the othe night but nowhere near as wet.  I have had a couple of recipes turn out really wet of late, fruit buns as well.  Maybe it's just me lol.  Easy enough to recover however.
thanks
Narelle

Mine wasn't wet Narelle - did it turn out OK? My buttermilk scones were always very wet but turned out perfectly and then recently they reduced the amount of buttermilk which should make it easier to work with next time.  I just follow a recipe with quantities, especially bread, cakes etc, not so important in main meals though.

Yes it was very yummy.  A bit doughy in the middle but I've had/made far worse.  10 more minutes in the oven wouldn't have hurt it.  The girls didn't like it that much, but they are having it for school/day care lunch tomorrow so will see how that goes!

It might come back home in their lunch boxes Narelle  ;D ;D  We had some toasted with a bowl of soup tonight - my DH actually likes it, yay ;D ;D ;D

Mine was extremely sticky - no way you could have formed it. Had considered adding some more flour in, but thought I'd see how this turned out. It turned out nicely, but as a test I think I'll add more flour next time or reduce the water.

Mine wasn't too bad.  I wonder if it was because I used the ground LSA mix as I didn't have linseeds? BTW, ILB, I ordered the bread pan today from that place, hopefully it will arrive before the weekend.  Am dying to make another one.  ;D

My mix was very wet. As ILB said there was no way you could have shaped it. We really liked it so won't make any alterations to it. I think it will bake better in a bread tin though.
