Chookie yes it was the Cypriot grain salad. Cookie boys worked till this afternoon then the heavens opened ,lighting too . Only just started on the canola so a wait till rain over and dried . Storage is always a problem, some stored on farm but at the moment we are trucking it out ourselves as the local bunker is open .

Well done everyone. I was hoping to get in the kitchen to make maybe apricot jam , ginger biscuits, Shortbread with cranberries and pistachio. Instead spent hours out in the sun watching the mother bin arrive ( chaser bin holds 42 tonnes ).

Cookie I always have the speed one lower , otherwise it sounds like a jet plane . Washing trip to MIL house . Just got it dry and the heavens opened , all dry now ready for school . Chaser bin arrived it is huge , this holds the grain all 42 tonnes , pulled along by a tractor . Spent the afternoon sorting Christmas presents . DD was at minimal skills for CFA all day , learning to be a firefighter , think that DH wants her to do this but she refuses to go out and fight a fire . Doing it so she knows what to do if there is a fire and be aweare . Things we do .

Helped DD & DS vacuum my car and DH car . It got so hot we went back later to finish the job . DS had his little chicken inside last night ( yesterday it got really too hot for her) it spent the whole night perched on a box edge . Then it flew to a chair ... time to put it outside . DS thinks its fine to be free outside when he is there . It flew again quite a long stretch.

I would not attempt fixing it but we could wait months for someone to come . We brought it in 2006 , they say 20 years for Miele . Harvest will start and there will be no hope of a repair . So hot the little chick is inside to recoup from today’s heat . It is terrified of us but not DS .

Sorry about your bird Cookie . Have spent ages on the Internet looking on how to fix torn seal on our Miele washing machine. DS and I found water under it last last night , the rug near was wet so put that on top of the clothes line . Well if in doubt ring Miele Melbourne and E &S Trading . Order a huge grey seal and take off a spring, remove then take a photo of area so to match it up with new seal . Hoping DH comes to the party and repairs it when arrives . Keep thinking I have to put washing on .

On Friday DS came home on the bus with a huge gingerbread house and a pet carrier with the chicken he raised at school for science. It is a bantam m.... It is settling in well but is in a box inside at night . Today I keep putting it out in a big cage in the garden and tell DS that is were it is to be. Spotted DS and chick studying for exams under the tree. It is black and small . Just went to check on our six chooks that we got many weeks ago as on was in the nesting box , yes one small egg , here we go eggs a plenty soon .

Yes we love cutlets , four were naked cutlets because I had a brain fade and got rid of the last bit of egg and crumbs looked and saw I had more to do . Thus I put them in the oven and hoped I would get a few . Tonight we had a layered steak salad ! Spinach leaves , blanched asparagus and sugar snap peas, soy beans (green) edamame . Then glass noodles , topped with sliced BBQ steak and drizzled pomegranate molasses. All gone .
