Western Australian Police.... something? :-)) ;D

Interval training is excellent, I do a lot of that and it really gets your fitness up quickly. Try doing it on other machines as well as the treadmill if you can. Do you have access to crosstrainers or stepping machines? Are you doing any resistance training?
So I could qualify for WAPOL with my beep test score? ;D

Amy - Lol you would excel with that beep test result.  Do it!  :P

Ta for the tips - unfortunatley I only have access to the treadmill at the mo.  I am also doing weights.  I do have a bicycle - utterly uncoordinated but it might be good for something different, especially with the hills where I live.  I will carry on with this bl**dy interval training and might attempt a beep test in a couple of weeks time to see how far I have to go.

I know! You would be a great a experiment! ;D
I'm fascinated by the human body, and since I've become so health conscious and addicted to excerise I'm absolutely loving leaning about this stuff. Unfortunately the structure and delivery of my course isn't very good though, so I'm needing to do a lot of extra research of my own to make sure I understand all the concepts correctly. The course doesn't offer much support :-\
I also just enrolled in a Nutrition course the other day, so I'm excited for that too. I love health, it is very important ;)

Well done on that beep test Amy, I hear the AFL guys can get up to 15!  i had my first ever test a few weeks ago and got 6.2 which I was pretty happy with, I've always been a slow jogger and never thought I could get any faster but have been doing interval training on the treadmill for a few weeks to try and get my 10km fun run pace up to my sisters marathon pace for the Melbourne marathon later in the year. It's amazing how much faster you can go when you really push and have a goal in mind.

Thermolicious, good luck with your training, keep posting your progress towards that 10.1.

Thanks Wonder :D The highest score in class last night was 11.4, and that was a really fit guy who reminds me of an AFL footballer! :-))
Well done to you to though, it sounds like you're doing really well. Having goals definitely helps, because it makes you try that little bit harder ;)
My PT has been talking about getting me competing in traithlons when I get my bike skills up :o

I'm sure you would love the competing Amy. Google the beep test and AFL draft eligible players are expected to reach 15 and the highest has been 16.01, so you are getting right up there, according to google you would also qualify for the Army (7.5), Navy (6.1), airforce (6.5), Fire Brigade (9.6) and Police (women 6-7, men 9-10).

Wow :o
Thats really amazing Wonder, thanks for looking that up and telling me :D I can't imagine myself getting to 15 though, it is a hard test :-))

I would love to compete in a traithlon, but I'm a very nervous person :-))
