healthybake oat sourdough recipe?
« on: March 01, 2011, 05:55:22 am »
I love the healthybake breads, the tastiest wheat free ones I have found

But they are Sooooo expensive!

Anyone feel up to trying to devise a recipe for this one?

Have you had any luck working out this recipe??  It is my daughter's favorite bread & I'm looking to try and cook it at home.

Thanks

I love my TM and ladybird,  do you have a sourdough culture?    Although this bread is wheat free it has gluten in it.  This is usually derived from wheat.   You would have trouble making this bread without the gluten as the oats will not act with the culture unless there is gluten.

achookwoman - I use the Artisan Bread in 5 mins a day recipe a lot (when we lived in the USA I made it every day because I couldn't get bread that wasn't full of sugar).  My daughter can tolerate a little gluten (she is gluten, dairy and sugar free due to her Lyme Disease treatment).  I may use my 5min a day recipe and start changing it around to add some oat flour.

Thanks so much

Cheers

I love my TM,  that sounds like a good way to go.   I have posted a Sourdough Oat bread but it may have too much wheat flour.
