Thanks for the replys :) my son can't have preservatives, colorings or flavorings, television or wheat or dairy as he reacts quite badly to them= behavior, sleep disturbances and night terrors/bad dreams. So that's why need a preservative free substitute.
So if I was to use coconut flour and either rice or millet as I have them in my pantry, would I do Half/ half and replace the same weight as what the recipe requires of tapioca/arrowroot flour?

Hi I want to make the gluten free bread but cannot find arrowroot or tapioca flour that does not contain a preservative, even the one in the health food shop has a 220 or 202? In it! Is there something I can use instead?

What about the clear plastic in the MC and the varoma lid? I waxbills this contains BPA and get concerned about it leaching when hot!

Mine has turned out quite gritty not at all like store bought Tahini, I used hulled organic sesame seeds and sesame oil and had to add a lot of water as I just had a gritty paste, have I done something wrong?

I made these today eggs were perfect, I left them in the shell for about15 min after cooking as I had a grumpy toddler buy glad o did as they may have been under cooked otherwise just sat them in some hot water before eating, my sauce on the other hand was a complete disaster I fed it to the chooks, they didn't eat it! I think over cooked as grumpy toddler didn't let me keep and eye on it lol!

Chit Chat / Re: Why make butter?
« on: December 09, 2010, 09:38:01 am »
Unfortunatly they are both bad, margarine for all the reasons above and butter because it is made from a cow, cows milk is made for calfs not humans, we have nothing in common with cows, they have 3 stomachs, they are also lactating so full of hormones even if not fed hormones you need hormones to lactate and if your allergic to wheat well it's even more of a problem (they eat grassess).  However butter tastes better! I am raising my kids to use neither, I figure if they dont get into the habit of it they won't miss it!
As for the original question why should you make your own butter.......I bet it tastes amazing! (havn't made any myself, TMX should arrive next week ;D, but organic butter is yummo!
