It will be fine thanks Marina. I'm used to it now and I trust the specialist implicitly. Thanks Judy.

To our lovely Forum family.  Rals cancer has grown in the last 2 months and hasn’t responded to the drugs which they were hoping would slowdown the growth. All treatment and tests have ceased and he has been assessed for Hospice care.  This is a Palliative care program unique to Ballarat. The aim is to keep patients in their own hope for as long as possible. The service is 24 hours and equipment supplied as necessary. All is free and 80% government funded. We are very fortunate to be in Ballarat to be able to use this service and to have so many family and friends looking after us. Ral is amazing and fully aware of all that is going on. He is not in any pain, although they seem to think this will happen.  That is about all for now.

Such sad news Chookie and I’m sure everyone who knows you would join me in wanting to wrap our arms around  you both. The programme is just what you need to make it as easy as possible for you and Ral, stay strong for this amazing man.

Ral died suddenly on Saturday afternoon. He was admitted to Gandarra, a Palliative Care hospital in Ballarat for pain management. It is a wonderful facility with special staff. I had spent 2 hours with him as we enjoyed our regular Wordle and Crossword puzzles. Our daughter was with him when he died.
I have appreciated , more than words can express , the support from our Forum friends. I feel sad but relieved that he is no more in pain.
