Now, there's an interesting idea, Chookie, I would never have thought of that. Do you pop the corn in the TMX as well? I'm thinking it would have to be a very small quantity.

I have seen one version that has mini pretzels in it, K Atie, and I am thinking I might incorporate some into my mix.

They even changed our phone number. I THINK it has all been sorted now.We ended up with our phone numbers changed as well, Cookie, it was a real nuisance. They couldn't explain sufficiently why they changed our numbers, fortunately we got our business numbers back, but had to change our personal number. 5

DJ, if you go to the original Mrs Masons Nuts nuts and Bolts recipe on the forum there is a bit of discussion about the UK equivalent of Nutri Grain - I think this is the link posted by Chookie: https://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=10974.0

I bought the soup mixes today - the chicken one was labelled " Cream of ..." so I hope it will be OK. I am working on the assumption that the soup has never seen a chicken, but the "chicken" in the list of ingredients comprises chemicals mixed to taste like chicken; I am not sure what the "Cream" part is but hopefully it will work! It is actually quite hard to find powdered soup mixes these days, they are all in tins or pre-made in plastic 'pouches'.
Thanks for the roast nuts suggestion, Chookie, roasted nuts always taste that much better so I will definitely got for them. I will probably make these next week in plenty of time to hand them out to the various recipients. 9

I have often seen references on here to Nuts and Bolts, but have neither tried nor made it, but this year I think I will give it a go for small gifts to neighbouring businesses who have supported us this year with great service. What is everyone's favourite recipe?

That's very thoughtful of you DJ, I am sure she appreciates it. I also send a meal over to my neighbour each week which he says is a god send.
I just thought I would throw the pear and almond fruit mince I made at the weekend into the discussion as it was really lovely ... sweet but tasty. I have always hated fruit mince because when we were kids my mum made fruit mince tarts each Xmas with commercially produced fruit mince and they were foul, but we had to eat them! It has taken me 60+ years to accept there are much tastier options! 15
Chit Chat / Re: What have you been doing today?« on: November 27, 2023, 06:46:41 pm »Yes we do Judy. Quite a bit of stuff from DD's house went on that. With the temperatures you have got over your way at the moment, Cookie, waiting until January for the air con installation will be challenging. We have had ours in for just a week now and the difference is fantastic ... an expensive addition to the house, but worth it. |
