Sorry I haven't been on here for awhile. It has been a very difficult and hectic year. As you all know my best friend and father both passed away within a month of each other. Changes at my job, made me think about continuing working there. Let's just say I resigned in October and now work full time in our business. My mum has just moved house and my brother lost his job and has moved back in with mum. DS has had some trouble keeping up at school, but I am happy to report that with his teacher and I working together, he is nearly back at grade level.
Hopefully 2013 will be a better year for us, and I will be able to contribute to this wonderful forum more.

Welcome back DG - - - wow! you've certainly had your hands full!! 2012 seems to have been a really testing time all round!! Glad to hear you've ridden out the storm and hope that things stay on an even keel for you from now on . . . . :)

Oh Dg i didnt know about your best friend also.. My condolences and yes 2012 has been a hard and difficult year for a few of us.. 2013 will be a better year xx heres hoping :)

DG thanks for sharing with us, please remember we are always here if you need a friend, lets hope that this coming year brings you lots of happiness, health and wonderful surprises. I'm hoping it is going to be a good year for everyone.

At various times in the year the members have been concerned and wanted to know if you were ok. Now we understand your absence. 2012 was not a good year for you. Welcome back DG.

Oh thank you everyone for your warm Welcome Back. I have missed you all but was just too busy and emotional to contribute. I did sneak in at times to catch up but because I didn't do it enough, the unread topics became overwhelming and I didn't know where to start.

Hi DG, welcome back as the girls have said. As you know, we still all said happy birthday to you back on the 20th October so you know you were still in our minds during the 4 months you were missing in action. It's lovely when one of our much loved members shows up again after an absence.
In answer to your question in your pm to me, I didn't get to the WA retreat, long story but in a nutshell - Geoff ended up in hospital the day beforehand and I was unable to leave him. However, we are having a retreat in Adelaide next August so hopefully I will be able to get to that one.

Great to see you DG. The wonderful thing about this forum is that you can just jump,back in anywhere and you will be welcomed. We will bring you up to date on the important stuff.
2012 is coming to an end and we can leave all the trials and tribulations of this year behind us. We can remember fondly our loved ones lost and hold close our loved ones gained.
We are especially lucky here because there is always someone to help, to listen and to share without fear or favour. You can pick and choose your threads always finding something or someone interesting and informative. We are happy and sad, funny and not so much, silly and serious but mostly we are just a community of all sorts who rub along nicely with the occasional pain in the butt standing on their soap box. We can be thoroughly interesting or boring as dog poo but it doesn't matter as we all have one love in common and we share that rather well.
2013 will being it's own challenges . There will be fun and laughter as well as sadness and loss and we will be here to share the highs as well as the lows offering encouragement and a helping hand where needed.
Our forum family can be a better friend than relations at times . At least if we are not happy here we can power off!
