I've had my TMX for 4 months, and the measuring cup is looking all cracked. It's like the outside layers of plastic have cracked, but there is no actual splitting where liquid could get through. It seems like something that would be caused by high heats, however it's only been put in the dishwasher on the top rack, normal cycle.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine cracked and broke after 3 years, and I bought another. Take a pic and contact your consultant whilst your warranty is current..

No mine doesn't look like that PT, mine is very cloudy looking though so when I bought my second bowl I decided to keep it like new by using the old MC in the new bowl most of the time and never putting it in the dishwasher.

Yes, will do!

Mine is cloudy too Judy and no amount of scrubbing will clear it. Guess I have to live with it.

Mine looks very used.!

My DD (uses her TMX non stop! ;D) had the same problem . . became very "cloudy" but still functions. I'm beginning to wonder if these "accessories" are actually manufactured in Germany/France or outsourced for cheaper initial outlay . . . .

Mine cloudy also. Think it is due to high heat when cooking some things. I notice that it bounces quite well, usually once a day. ;D

Don't think she means the little scratches from wash n wear, but fine splintering within the plastic that hasn't broken through the surface. I would just show it to your consultant and my guess is they'll give you another as they only cost $15.

;D ;D There have been just a few occasions when I thought I was practising handball . . . . :-)) ;D ;D

Me too. Just about everything else breaks after a bounce on the floor tiles, but not the MC.....well not yet.

Mine's nearly 7 years old and had had its share of bouncing too. Its so cloudy you can barely see through it, but it still works fine.

Yes thats exactly it. I haven't got around to taking that photo yet - I should go do it now while there is enough light to get a decent photo.

LOL Chookie and Goldfish. I worry the MC will break on the tiles so I try and put my foot under it before it hits ;D

Mine is cloudy too, but has never been in the dishwasher. I think it's just from the heat.
It has also done it's share of bouncing, and a few months ago split perfectly into two pieces, horizontally around the ridge. It was so perfect that I managed to superglue it back together and it lives to bounce some more! :D

That's where mine split. It really should be made to withstand the high temp of Varoma cooking in the TM bowl and last longer than it has for you.

In Australia, a new measuring cup will cost you $11. Obtainable from your consultant or from head office online store.

I have had my thermomix for less than a year and am onto my second mc that has suffered the same cracked discoloured fate. my consultant replaced it promply under warranty the first time but now the same thing has happened with my second one. I contacted thermomix directly yesterday and they advised that both were likely from a faulty batch and would be replaced when they arrived, i also note that the mc is not currently available on the online store.

Go back to your consultant. Mine has just ordered mc and varoma lid no. 3.

I believe that there is a bad batch of MCs on the go at the moment. Contact your consultant and yours should be replaced free.
