Sounds interesting.  I would never have thought to include mushrooms in a chocolate cake?

Oh Wow!  😃😃😃

I am so excited!  I found a Martha Stewarts pies and tarts book on sale this week and now I have won the pie weights!  It is definitely my lucky week and the weather is perfect for pie baking!  Thank you Judy, MM and thermomix!

I usually make a huge vege slice, with a dozen.  Great for an evening meal and then cold for lunch.
I am amazed how long the eggs last as we also get inundated at times.

The vegie slice also freezes well, so you can put them away for dinner for another night or an easy weekend lunch

Oh, I had never thought about making pies with it - that's a great idea!

I'm glad there is someone else that tries the raw cake batter.  :)

You mean there are people out there who don't?  😳😳😳

Sometimes I bake cakes just to have some cake batter!

With all the pie talk - creamy chicken, mushroom and walnut pie, mashed potatoes, roast tomatoes and green beans

I am snappy and I am # 21

I love sweet pies and my favourite would be Tenina's olive oil lemon tart (do tarts count?)

For savory, DH and I both love Maggie Beers Pheasant pie which was converted to a Chicken pie by Trissalicious.

Thanks everyone.  Unfortunately they didn't taste as light and delicious as shop bought croissants but maybe I didn't roll my dough thin enough??  I will give this another try though, I'm sure I just need a couple of goes to perfect it!

Bread / Isi´s Croissantes
« on: July 09, 2014, 04:14:34 am »
So this is my entry in the forum challenge.  I weighed out the dough and divided it into 7 to try and make sure each of my balls was as close as possible.  For me, that meant each ball was 90-95grams.

I found the butter was hard to spread with a spatula (it is winter here!) so next time I will probably use the butterfly when whipping up the butter to try and get a better result.

Rolling out each individual circle was probably the most time consuming part.  It took me just under an hour from start to proving.  Then another 40 minute to prove and cook so they are not the quickest and easiest of recipes.

I have only baked four and frozen the other 4 (after the proving) and will bake them up on the weekend from frozen.  If they work well, this would be a great recipe to make when you have time, freeze and then bake when you want them.

I'm not going to be opening my own bakery soon but they do resemble a croissant

I think quirky Jo has an avocado based Choc mousse on her website which is dairy free.

I made Chookies no fuss bread last night as a garlic and rosemary focaccia.  It was demolished before I could take a photo 😃😃😃
