Chit Chat / Re: THE SHOPPING THREAD :-)
« on: July 26, 2011, 01:14:52 pm »
Went to a food industry supplier shop that is reducing stock to specialise in just cakes & cake decorating. Everything else was discounted. I spent ages wandering around picking up bits and pieces. I got a lot of stuff, but the most interesting things are a 28cm chef’s frypan, a springform with a glass base, a specialty bread tin and a lid for my (decades old) bread loaf pan, all excellent quality. Saved heaps and very, very happy. In fact contemplating going back next week in case I missed anything.  ;D ;D ;D

ooh where was that at???

Maddy, pmsl at you being the first in Oz for the new cake pop stand - couldn't be a better buyer/owner!!!!!

Breakfast made ham and cheese omlette (not tmx)

Made spreadable butter (using Quirky Jo's recipe, but not making the butter) as butter even at room temp here is just too hard.

Lunch made a noodle and vegetable and duck in oyster sauce stirfry.

Using tmx, yum!

Made duck stock.

Made cookies

Dinner  - pizza

More info and links on the blog http://thermomixmeals.blogspot.com/2011/07/sunday-10th-july-butter-duck-and.html
(sorry can't be bothered re writing and linking. And don't have the link to Jo's great post on butter as can't get onto her blog tonight.

Loved them. Used mostly dark chocolate.

Not the best picture, sorry.

Really yummy, though we made them a bit big. (I'm sure someone will say there is never too big a cookie)

Beef madras (from the coles Curtis Stone recipe I converted ages ago) still a massive family favourite and the kids all had 2nds at least.

I've cooked chicken drumettes heaps of times, and goat on bone and not had a problem.
I'm sure my bowl has some minor scratches (and stains, though dh did do a massive lot of chili sauce with vinegar recently and it looked lovely after, lol) but no damage as such.

Mine tonight was very yellow, think I added a bit more turmeric. My vegie stock concentrate is very green.
should have taken a photo.
Also used wine instead of water, added garlic and mushrooms. Oh and a bit more mustard as we all wanted it stronger.
Love the idea of the cashew cream substitute, must try that.
Still a winner in our house.

Lovely photos, desserts look lovely and you look like you had a great time. (funny I always pictured CC as having dark hair).

awww Marylebone High Street, I lived in the next street along for many years until I had kids. Though it was less trendy then.
What pub did the dh's go to?
