Marina you can hire houseboats and take yourself along the Murray.
You can also go on the Emmy Lou from Echuca for a few days. I'm sure there are lots more too.

Chookie, that looks wonderful. The romance of yesterday.
Aa a juxtaposition we are bush bashing.  I will now fear every time my DH works away.  At one point he is walking in bush chest height( he is 6'7) showing me where to drive.  This is nothing he says! We have finished Ravy end, slept in Esperance last night heading to the cape arid end today.  Nothing decent to photograph, sorry.  Although it is pretty bush, very varied. Have a good day all.

Good thing snakes are in hibernation Denise, sometimes it's best not to know what our DH's do when they are at work ;)  It's so nice you are there with him though, it must give him so much pleasure to hop back in the vehicle and have you there instead of grass and fences.

Re-organising my kitchen so that thermy number 2 fits!

Hubby says now that I have 2 TM's he can have 2 comp trucks. My argument is he can't drive 2 at once, but I can drive 2 thermy's and he benefits!

So far I'm winning... ;D

Love it Nikkit. The Day that DH starts cooking is the day he can begin to make decisions about what I buy in my "office".

Bedlam,  love a little bush bashing.  Have fun.
The paddle wheel does drive the boat.  But it is driven by some kind of big engine .
Bruce won the trivia quiz!!  Aboriginal excavation site today,  following a bush breakfast.  Cook thought we might like to experience an Emu egg omelet.  There was a 1/2 formed chick inside.  Yuk. Bush BBQ and dance last night.  Good fun.  Tonight, Captain's Dinner.  Dress up.
Very relaxing.  Not much internet coverage.

I agree Chookie, Yuk.

Nikkit, that looks fantastic.

Denise, it sounds like lots of fun. I'm sure your DH makes lots of noise when he walks in the long grass and the snakes will slither off away from him.

Today we did a day trip to Busselton. I had a few Model A things to sort out. It was lovely to get away for a few hours. It was quite wet most of the way. We had fish and chips at the jetty, sat in the car with the rain pouring down. It was lovely. Then a Simmo's ice cream. I had a cherry swirl, yummy. The cherries were sour and it was a lovely contrast to the sweet, ice cream.
The countryside on the way down. We had pulled over for a wee break.

The Busselton jetty.

I love sitting in the car, overlooking the ocean eating fish and chips Cookie.  Glad you could get away from it all and have a lovely day out.

Good thing snakes are in hibernation Denise, sometimes it's best not to know what our DH's do when they are at work ;)  It's so nice you are there with him though, it must give him so much pleasure to hop back in the vehicle and have you there instead of grass and fences.

He actually hops on the back of the Ute Judy and I am driving, slowly, on hard to find tracks while he scans the area for any signs of dieback infestations.  Although initially I was nervous I have enjoyed it today.  It isn't quite what I thought I was going to be doing ( more reading, sipping tea and waiting).  My first four wheel driving, yesterday it nearly made me cry, big ruts and scary. Today was more ladies bush and just needed to knock a few bushes over.  It really is nice to be out with nature. We haven't seen any snakes, quite a lot of kangaroos and rabbits and one fox. We had breakfast at a lookout near dolphin bay but unfortunately the fence line is away from the ocean.

So what is DH's job description Denise or is this just a one off thing.  You sound like a good team.

Our company  maps phytophthora dieback Judy, usually it is by foot but the rabbit proof fence extension is 400 Kms .  It's hard to scan the bush and  drive, it is also really isolated.  He is used to it as we have been doing it for 20 years but I  am  a fair weather girl and don't really like creepy crawlies.  So far we have been lucky with the weather and if there are lots of ant holes I stay in the car.

I just read this to DH and he says or snakes.... He says we are in the snake Capitol of the world!
