Newbie Day 2.... so far I have cooked....
« on: March 30, 2010, 12:58:35 pm »
:: LSA (Linseed, Sesame Seed, Almond)
 :-: Pineapple Sorbet
:: Bread (with Laucke bread mix) So much nicer than in my bread machine
*: Meat Loaf (with Ham and Cheese, wrapped in prosciutto)
 *: Cheesy Mashed Potatoes
 :: Rice Milk
:-: Pasta with Bolognaise sauce (and lotsa hidden veges)

My baby (DS=9months) has a dairy allergy (going to the Allergists in June to find out what else) so am looking for any and all suggestions going forward, I made Rice milk with Sesame Seed and Linseeds (Flax) but will try it out in the morning for breakfast... had to leave out the nuts just in case

My big boy (DS=5 1/2 yrs) loves pasta, and is looking forward to me making lasagne from scratch!!

am so happy to be able to learn to cook from scratch, before the supermarket packaged ingredients too!!
Thermo-mixing it with the best since March 2010

You're well on you way SweetMazz! Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

There's a lot of info here for various food intolerances and that's where the TMX comes into it's own. You can make your own soy milk.  Lots of recipes here for dairy free - there's even a dairy free chocolate alternative!

Your big DS is going to love the pasta making experience!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Hi SweetMazz welcome to the forum.  Looks like you are going OK on only your 2nd day. Heaps of recipes on here and in books to help with intolerances & allergies and lots of people in the same boat too so you will feel quite at home here.  Lasagne from scratch - a cinch  ;) ;)  Have fun and nice to see a 5.5 year old is interested in food.

Hi,

You might like to check out the link below for info on food intolerences, although it's not specifically dairy or allergy related.

Welcome Sweetmazz. Your son will be cooking for you in no time. The Thermomix is wonderful for making everything from scratch.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
