hi just wanted to add my opinion on the My way of Cooking. I was so excited to get the book then after sitting down and going through it i was bitterly dissapointed and nothing "tickles" my fancy and i can't see anything that i want to try. I think the EDC book is way better and not to mention the forum recipes. Sorry guys its a thumbs down for me.

Chit Chat / making butter

Hi, i am not sure if this is a stupid question but i need to ask.

I bought some cream to try and make butter, but i noticed the use by date was 2nd March. Does this mean my butter will only last til then also??

Also another question, I grated a block of mozzarella cheese last night for home made pizzas, and have way too much left over. IS it okay to freeze?

THanks in advance for any help!

Thats not good to hear Kaycee. Hope you are feeling better soon. Lucky your Thermy hasn't arrived yet! You don't want to be in bed sick when you get him!

this recipe is beautiful with 3 drops of peppermint essential oil added or use peppermint essesce instead.(not sure on the quantity) maybe 2 tsps? or 3 Depending how "strong" you like the peppermint.
Also didn't take as long to cook as the book recommended. (not sure how long)

I have been too excitied whilst trying all these recipes  i have forgotten to write any changes down !! Please forgive me.

I can't even post a recipe yet because i keep forgetting what i have done when i convert it!!

Cheers!

This one gets a thumbs up from me also!
My first attempt was so yummy I made my Mum and Dad one for their dinner the next night and they loved it also.
Very easy! I actually coooked mine in the varoma then popped in the oven for about another 15 mins (i think) to crisp it up a bit. (not keen on the steamed meat idea)

Has anyone tried the mushy sauce??

Hi Kaycee,
You won't regret it! I was feeling like OMG "what have i done" after i bit the bullet! But i got the reassurance i needed of here (the forum) and well one week on after "thermy" arriving I can honestly tell you "I love him"!
Where did you first see Thermy down there? (I am up north) I first heard of him through the "like chocolate for Women" girls. I went to one of their workshops at Maroochydore and the thermomix ladies were there. I met Margaret and Angelina from Thermomix, did you have either of those Ladies as a consultant? Have you heard of Fleur and Kim. "like chocolate for women girls"
I will be suprised if you haven't! I LOVE the sunshine coast. My good friend lives at Buderim. She has had a demo also and is still waiting to place her order (she is saving the pennies).
Hope you don't have to wait too long! I have been going great guns with Thermy, he is soooo easy to use!
I am sure you will find it the same!
Cheers

Hi SHell,
I am a new owner too! (since Friday) I too made beef strog for our first dinner and it was yum!
I made the rice pudding last night also and yes mine was very stuck together. It tasted beautiful but i thought it would be a bit more creamy maybe or more runny. I think the texture turned the kids off. They are extrmemly fussy  :-))
I made lots over the weekend and I am scouring for more different recipes. The forum is great for help :)

Cheers

yes amazing! just amazing and i am sure my friends are all sick of hearing about "thermy".
Well i have been off doing all my cooking and atm i have the ice cream still in the freezer waiting for it to harden but not freeze ?? I hope it works, i am scared of failure ;D
I am not on bit scared of the machine just a little scared of my recipes not working therefore wasting ingredients.

Hi everyone,
As i speak thermy is in action working on a vegie stock for me. He has already done an ice-cream which is in the freezer waiting for second round. Hope it works! I am also ready to do a salad dressing, mayo, some peanut butter, some cookies, and might even try the chilli con carne for dinner!
I have a recipe to tell everyone about that i made yesterday but unsure where to tell it? do i just post in the appropriate category?
Oh better go Thermy is "singing" out to me.

Happy cooking everyone!

ps, Judydawn, I promised my dh last night grocery bill "won't" increase!   ;D

Hi Herbal,
YOu sound  EXACTLY like i was! I had my demo, then waited a bit to save the rest of the money, stalked anything about thermomix on GOOGLE, dreamt about it every night then I ordered and only a week or more later he ARRIVED!!! Yesterday!!!! Yes very excited I am. I would be out there now playing with him but i have had a busy morning and absolutley shattered so chilling out on the computer and had to let everyone know he arrived.
Yesterday for my delivery demo, my wonderful consultant helped me whip up a beef stroganoff (which was Beautiful), an almond flourless cake (devine), some anzac bikies (scumptious) and a 5 seed bread! What more can i say. It was all unreal!!
When she went home I went on my merry way and whipped up a chocolate custard, a herb and garlic dip , and avocado dip, some slushy drinks for the kids and then i think i called it a day!! Oh hang on, I forgot to add mash potato!!
I was worried if it was going to be easy to use but i actually think it is fool proof!
Hope you are thrilled as much as i am. Hang in there it will come soon!! The wait is torture!
