I usually get home close to 6pm - please give me some quick easy meal ideas that my 8 and (fussy) 5 year old will eat.
Thanks

Hard to know what the kids like Suzie but here's a few I singled out as I know my grand-kids would eat them.
Honey soy chicken winglets (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=891.0) is a popular one with the kids.
Chicken croquettes (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1365.0) can be made in advance or frozen then just fried on the night.
Chicken or tuna a la king (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5544.0)
Bangers & mash (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3821.0)
Easy carbonara (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3442.0) - just like the packet pastas.
Tuna & macaroni bake (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2111.0)
Some can be prepared the night before and just baked or reheated when you get home from work. Our young working Mums will have more ideas for you I am sure.

Chicken and sweetcorn soup goes down well here. I usually do it on a Monday night after I have had a roast chicken.

I made Thai Chilli Chicken and Basil last night and my 3 boys(7,11 and 14) scoffed it down and asked for more!! It's not hot but a really nice flavour. I actually had a standby spag bol in the freezer, sure I was going to have to heat it up for at least one of them so I was pleasantly surprised! ;D

It surprises me how many kids i see eating sushi.
If your kids eat sushi you could cook the rice the day before. Get the kids to help you fill and roll them.
