Swiss Meringue to make Pavlova
« on: May 05, 2009, 07:02:37 pm »
Have also found this recipe which makes the meringue with heat, my book says can also be used to make pavlova. Seems to be the quickest and easiest way to make, worth trying!

Swiss Meringue:
serves 8 to 10:
Ingredients:
4 egg whites
200g sugar
pinch salt
4 drops lemon/ vinegar

Preparation:
Place butterfly over blades, add all ingredients together and program 4mins, 50º, speed 3 and 1/2. Bake in preheated oven 150º, after 15 mins drop to 100º and bake for 1 hour, leave to cool in the oven.

Photos:

Tips/Hints:
Think this one is possibly the best option for speed. If someone fancies testing this one out, please be my guest!

Merci, Danke, Grazie - not sure what part of Switzerland - this certainly seems the easiest - and probably with the heat, the most likely to succeed - but if yours worked then we can go with that one.

Gracias bron.

Hi,
Just tried this one and the mixture was all runny - I'm looking for something that can be shaped into merigue 'shapes'.

Also just tried Everyday Cookbook version with 50C like Tenina suggested - but that was runny too.

So I'm off the the supermarket to buy some more eggs (have just about run out of Mum's Happy Chicken Eggs from their farm  :-[)

Thanks anyway

Try the one that I made, mine worked perfectly, the one with teaspoon of mixed spices!

Your recipe ( the one with the spices) is exactly what I was looking for - THANK YOU!!!!  It's just gone in the oven.

Didn't get to the French version - thankfully.

Luckily you can't see me doing my victory dance - laughing!
