How does your digestive system handle cheese, Mab?  I often think it doesn't always agree with me.

Condolonces also too  yu and DH, Mab.

Under similar circumstances, a friend of ours who became a quadriplegic 20 odd years ago following a drunken bicycle accident, recently passed away.

My condolences, K Atie.  It is always hard when a death comes unexpectedly.

Had a biopsy on a spot, about the size of a pin head, on one of my arms today.  I didn't even think it was a "spot of concern", but the dr took one look and booked me in for the biopsy immediately so I will wait to get the results next week.  To make the whole thing even more confusing, I wasn't at the doctors for that "spot of concern", just pure coincidence!  Weird how things happen.  The good thing is, though, that is my three bad medical things this year (actually, it is the fourth, but lets not go there) - I have decided to simply wipe 2024 off my calendar!

Yesterday I made a mushroom and potato hash as well as an experiment filling for sausage rolls.  Today it will (hopefully) be a sweet potato and leek galette.

Wonderful presents Mab.
I took my Suzuki up for its fist check over service. It has only done 390km or so. I think they just wanted to make sure it hadn’t fallen to pieces.
The motorhome has to go in tomorrow, all the electrics in the house part are going crazy, or not going at all.
That's disappointing about your motor home, Cookie.  I hope they can find and rectify the problem quickly (and permanently!).

Good to get all your comments re. wool wash.  I have found the recipe on the net, but there is no indication of how much to use, both for hand washing and machine washing.  Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Hand washing all of that is a huge job, Chookie.  It's good to get it done though.

Which recipe did you use for the wool wash?

Talking of making things, has anyone here ever made the reed type evaporating air diffusers?  I am sick of buying them, then not remembering what the fragrance is and having to buy a new one when the old one dries up!

Waffle irons were mentioned a week or so ago and I gave it some thought, but held back from making a purchase. However, I could be seriously tempted by a mini waffle iron - what make / model is it please.  Ta

Just arrived back home after enjoying our favourite weekend of the year - a three day chamber music festival in Heathcote.  Always love it - eating, chatting to lots of very interesting people and of course, listening to lots of wonderful music.

Recently my 31 has been playing up and I have to think about a replacement as I do not think they service 31s anymore.  Hopefully my 31 will carry on, but it is interesting to read that a new model may be coming along.

Sausage and beans bake, vege stew, Alyce Alexandra's low carb granola - this next one is not an edible, soap scum remover (for shower screens, etc.).

I was going to make marry me butter beans, but won't have time.

Gosh, I have picked up two new ideas on here in the last week - Judy's poached eggs on mashed root veges and now Chookie's microwaved corn - I think I heard somewhere that it is easier to remove the silks if the corn is cooked, is that right?  I have always shucked the husk off and pulled the silk away before boiling them.  A whole new method for me to try!
