Chit Chat / Re: Food Dehydrators
« on: October 21, 2010, 02:54:46 am »
My brother has one and he loves it. He uses it to dry bits and pieces from his vegie garden that are surplus. He can't share it with me as he lives in Canberra.

Introduce Yourself / Re: New Thermie Owner

Sam I use Baker's flour and either fresh yeast when I can get it or Lowan yeast from the supermarket which is in a tall red cylinder. I keep that in the freezer and take what I need and replace it.
I love the 5 seed bread but it is a very sloppy mix. Chookie's Rustic Bread is also one of my favourites.

Try some of Isi's recipes too, they are wonderful. I think Judy always puts bread improver in with her mix too. (I do when I remember) You can buy that at the supermarket too.
Good luck and let us know how you go.

Welcome Megan, you have certainly jumped in to the thermomixing. Good on you. It will take a while before you are 100% confident with it. I still make purees instead of chopping after 2 years, if I'm not paying attention.

Welcome mareeb. Judy, someone told me that it is important to see the food moving. It stops things burning and similar nasties. It always gives me some satisfaction to see the food moving round too.

Judy, that will be wonderful for you both.

Thanks for the recipe Chookie. I'll mark it in my book. I love that book, I can just sit and read it. I made Tenina's Citrus Butter/Curd the other day.  It's very nice too.
