I really enjoyed cruising on the big ships when my kids were younger as loads to do for all ages.
Now when it's only DH and I we prefer smaller ships.
Last ocean one we did was Silverseas around the med for 2 weeks and we loved the smaller ship and the service was fantastic.
Like the river boats too and the slow pace. Did one from Amsterdam to Budapest and one in Vietnam abd Cambodia. Doing a Russian river one later this year with a couple that we met last year on our Vietnam tour.

Your trip sounds amazing Hally and I bet you can't wait.  :D

These cruises sound lovely!  DH and I have always said we'll do one "one day"...

It's clearly peak cruise season at the moment - Wellington harbour apparently has almost one cruise ship a day for a solid month!  Last time I saw there were 2 in port.
How young were your kids when you cruised with them, MF?  We've been discussing whether to go with the kids or wait until they are older.

The first cruise we did our kids were 3, 5, 9 and 11 and we did quite a few after that.
We found there was loads to do for all ages and kids clubs with on board activities.
We could go to the shows in the evening while the kids were being entertained elsewhere.
Mine all enjoyed it and we have done some since GC's have come along.
How old are your kids Jo?

DS is 5 and DD 3.

We went on holiday to Aus last Feb and there was a kids club programme at one of the resorts which DS LOVED - DD wouldn't have a bar of it, but she was not even two and a half then, and not used to being dropped off except with relatives.  Now she is used to going to playcentre without me and just getting bigger, so by the time we go she'd probably be fine to do kids club activities.

:D

So far today -
3 laps of the local oval (brisk walk).
Phone calls to 3 local gyms trying to pick the one I dislike the least.  :o :o ;D
Announced to 19 year old son that I will no longer be doing his washing.
Inspected the dog's bum - she appears to have an abscess brewing & the vets surgery has just closed for the weekend.  :(

Good luck with that Amanda

Well we now have a big hole in the ground, and I have to keep checking that our little blind doggie hasn't fallen into it...again!
getting the pool on Wednesday, so hopefully we can have it up and running by next weekend  :D
Hubby  needs to borrow neighbours wacker machine thingy for compacting the base....and I asked him how was he going to get the machine back out when finished?   ??? oh well, He'll figure it out I'm sure.

Boys are both at cricket for the day, so it's lovely and peaceful...thinking I might sort out that linen closet....maybe  :-\  I know it means I will have to purge  :P
