* Classic * I made bread for the local Bakers!
« on: January 01, 2011, 12:00:16 am »
Happy New Year Forum Friends, I so have to share this classic story with you. I am a newbie and dear neighbour invited us my dh ds and dd over for bbq last night. I have been wanting to make achookwomans Garlicky Garlicky Bread Plait and thought this the perfect time.....first attempt mind you. I was so proud of myself even had to put the dough on the front verandah to rise as i had the aircon on and was cool inside. Following recipe and the photo as a guide i thought it looked and smelt terrific. Carry the  bread to neighbours and she informs me that she has invited the young local bakers for tea too, I nearly died! They too thought it was fantastic and i asked them to critic it. Turns out it was a winner and if anything a little bit of salt was all they could find to improve the bread. I will never forget this new years eve and how this great recipe and appliance stole the show.
Thanks for hearing me out, i am so chuffed! Jenny  :D

Well done Jenny!  ;D
......just like when you cook a meal for a chef  :P
No need to panic......I'm sure the bakers enjoyed eating someone else's  bread for a change.

Lovely story! ;D
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

What a lovely story to share with us Jenny and I can understand your horror at hearing the baker was going to be there.  Well done to you and I'm sure Chookie will be pleased to read this post ;)

Awesome effort Jenny!  *round of applause*  :-*

I confess I may have panicked if that had happened to me!  ;)
